Saboteur is going to be badass, love the light coming through the cloak.

Bring back that KZ2 MP glory!

I seriously can not unsee " :3 " face. I blame the white fabric under the eyes.

I find it hilarious that they live together separated by a Giant fucking wall.

President of space: "Glad this is over. To show that we are at a peaceful arrangement with the most hellbent, grudge holding, violent, slightly genetically enhanced, barbaric, un-humanitaian race that the universe has ever seen; we will live together on a planet that divides us by a giant wall... and considering how insanely advanced technology is, the wall is in retrospect a giant line made of duct tape."

Well, my guess is it's sort of like, oh shit we destroyed your home planet and all it's people. For the hellghan who already live on Vetka, and for the few thousand/million refugee's, the rest of the world wants us to provide you with sanctuary. So here's a small piece of land for you guys (think Israel and the British mandate, post WW2), and then later down the line, they build a giant wall (also not unlike Israel/Palestine) to keep the people separated because really they don't want them there, they just gave them a place for humanitarian reasons

Classes and tech on the first 3 Killzones are cool and all, but i hope they introduce alot of new ones considering the fact that takes place 30 years after the last one.

60fps uber alles. I'd take 720@60fps over 1080@30. Although, I wonder if next-gen games will be bottlenecked by resolution at all. :p

I kinda wish they dropped the res and went 60 instead. Not enough games do 60. Its what seperates cod from everything else.

Meh, for KZ I'd prefer 30/1080 personally. KZ is not one of those kind of shooters that needs 60. Probably make it feel less KZ'like if anything.

Good list, but i would like to add KZ3 to the multiplayer as well, since it introduced the Operation Mode. Personally i really liked that and i hope to see it in Killzone 4 as well :)

What did people find wrong with the Warzone Mode in Killzone 3 by the way? Personally i enjoyed KZ2 multiplayer more than KZ3 multiplayer, but i think it was only because of the different maps and lack of portable spawnpoints.

Marksman class, was ill conceived. I know most on the official forum where going ape about it.

60 fps is great AS long as it DOES NOT INTERFERE with the graphics. If there is any hit then no I don't want any alterations, every KZ game has thus far been 30fps so it remaining the same shouldn't be an issue for long time fans

Just because a game is slower paced doesn't mean 30FPS is magically alright. 30FPS is sluggish and annoying, no matter what game it is.

Lol it's not slow and sluggish, it's just not as quick as 60fps, which admittedly is better for most games out there. 30 keeps the same feel (chuck in lots of motion blur too please) and allows for more visual spectacle, which for this particular franchise I'd prefer. Killzone has always been very IQ orientated, not speed ala CSS, COD, Quake etc. If it were a twitch(ier) shooter I might disagree.

But different strokes I guess.

Could be, I've been thinking of it may be like West and East Germany during the cold war. Two opposing forces in the one City. Separated by a heavily defended wall on both sides. With vastly different ideologies and ways of life to each other. The Vektan side of the wall is rich and prosperous, with the Helghan side poor, with crumbling buildings, crime rife etc..

I believe the dev of GG mentioned that on stage. So yes, that would be very realistic as a direction too.

Killzone 3 was a little too fast paced IMO, still fun. It would of been a thousand times better with spawn grenades.

What was wrong with it?

Had the ability to be invisible (cloak), could jam radar, would stay cloaked even when firing if using a silenced weapon, had a very good silenced machine pistol. Also had use of a beast AR, and beast sniper rifle. Unfortunately cloak + silenced weapon gave some players the perfect camping class.

Edit, from memory I think the Devs eventually nerfed the Marksman, a long time after the game shipped though. I think they gave his radar jammer a cooldown period, so he would show up on the mini-map, could be wrong, haven't played online in ages.

The sooner consoles get used to 1080p as the norm, the better. As long as the res is higher than 1280x720 I can kind of compromise but it would have to be a res that is downscaled to 720p. Something like a native res of 1600x900 but going back to last gen "baseline" res is step back.

1080p at a solid 30fps should be great for KZ. If they can't do 60fps then I would rather keep the high IQ afforded by higher resolutions.

This probably isn't the first mission of the game. The player character in the demo is an assassin so he's probably getting back from a prologue mission.

Anyone have any guesses as to why the ISA changed their name to VSA? Could they have severed ties with Earth?

VSA; Vektan Strategic Alliance...? Every planet is supposed to have their own ISA so I guess this is a way of just being more precise because maybe we'll come into contact/conflict with other ISA entities. Or maybe we'll face the UCA?

I think the premise of the story is both cool but also a bit dumb. I like the fact that these two factions are begrudgingly trying to live together in harmony and their is a mounting tension between but at the same time I'm not going to welcome a people into my home who have been raised to hate me and will blame me for their misfortune regardless of my efforts to appease them. I know that Vekta feels responsible for what jas transpired but the Helghast were indiscriminate in the eradication of the Vektan population when they raided Vekta in the first game.

Also if a people have been reduced to millions why would they challenge an entire planet. That too me makes no sense. If the story had been that a satellite or colony had been appropriated to the Helghast and they had been laying foundations for an upheaval that would've been more believable than the story we have now. The references to the Gaza Strip and Berlin Wall don't work truthfully because those peoples are indigenous to those particular areas so tension isn't preventable but with the Helghast they could have relocated them somewhere more sensible.

Apparently Killzone: Shadow Fall (and the rest of the real time demos) ran on a dev kit with only 1.5GB GDDR5 usable for graphics.

Incredible if true.

Who is Phil? If not a GG developer, pointless post. Even now I do feel like 8GB was too excessive. Like I said many times in the past, I'd have preferred a stronger GPU with 4GB GDDR5 over 8GB GDDR5 ram, but who knows, maybe in future the extra ram will provide more dividends, especially combined with software feature improvements etc which might also be ram intensive.

I feel like 30FPS is fine for singleplayer with all the bells and whistles intact but 60 is much more important for multiplayer.

If that's true... Then whe're in for exploding heads when the game releases.

The demo must gave been with 4gb, right?

I agree. Multiplayer is much more fast paced.

Why isn't it called Killzone 4?

Targeting this for launch as an early PS4 showpiece is probably Sony's attempt to push the franchise up the FPS pecking order. To do so they'd need to bring new players in, calling it KZ4 would make people think they should have played 1, 2 & 3. Hence moving the setting 30 years forward.

Well, they say he's a developer.
