Anyone tried Modern Combat 4 already? I see it up now on the store (PH) but I read someone's impressions in toucharcade saying that isn't in retina res yet (ipad 4)
We should be best friends. Raiden is fucking incredible (no Raiden 2 though etc., stupid 8-bitty has shitty mappings) and I'm STILL playing DoP, however my current jam is Nightmare mode.
Cleared it in 37s yesterday
While we're on shmups, we need some Aero Fighters. Given I literally had no idea Raiden was coming out (which is a godsend, if I'd known the wait would've been unbearable) hopefully that's sprung upon us next. Or any of the 19XX games. Or Mars Matrix.
Edit: Holy shit, looking up DotEmu in the app store is a fucking wallet killer. Something called Avenging Spirit is free on there, no idea what it's like. For shmup fans, there's E.D.F. and P-47 for $2 a pop (half-price apparently due to their release of Last Express).
Meh, I think this is a good way of doing it. Instead of say being 12am PST worldwide, which annoys the fuck out of me.

I am *really* enjoying this. Definitely second the recommendation.
slightly more constructive edit: My only complaint is that it seems a little too easy, but hopefully that'll change once I have access to the higher difficulties (which are locked at first).

Yeah, we wanted to move away from the slaughterfest that most zombie games are (though that mode is coming!), and return to the cinematic roots of zombie lore where there is more of a sense of helplessness and desperation. We spent a lot of time trying to amp up those emotions.

Vice City is making my iPad 3 so ridiculously hot that it's actually uncomfortable to hold!

Haven't shot anyone yet, but the driving sucks worse than GTA3, feels like all the roads are made of soap.

A lot of folks here seem to enjoy the Simpson game.

You earn currency ingame as you play. Currency can be spent on boosts, skipping minigoals or fast unlocking weapons (or zombie theme packs which are coming down the pipe). Weapons also unlock as you complete missions (a mission being a set of 3 minigoals).
Currency can also be earned by redeeming Kiip rewards, or purchased via IAP.
There is currently nothing in the game which you can't unlock via grinding, so no weapons or anything which you must pay real money for.

Well, we try to have as fair an IAP model as possible, though that is balanced with the inclusion of ads. For the most part they are non intrusive and easy to skip past in this game, and we'll have a Turn Off Ads IAP at some point if they are offensive.

The touch arcade video showed them playing it fine enough on an iPad mini, so hopefully it works on mine.
I just thought this would be a nice port of vice city, but didn't know it was going to have improved graphics and even an iTunes custom playlist. Time to buy some badass 80s music.
Any idea when this will be on the US store? Looks awesome as hell!

Picked up Super Hexagon. The controls feel way too sensitive and finnicky with no options to adjust and...hard is the lowest difficulty? The visuals and music sure are awesome but unfortunately I only get to experience 3 seconds of them over and over again because one hit and you're done and have to hear "game over, game over, game over" over and over again each time you restart.
So is this game just a cleverly described rage generator or what?
