Picked it up on Steam. Playing through it on Legendary and I'm at the "Silent Cartographer" part. It's a stellar game. Very well done remake and cannot wait for more. Highly recommended for the FPS fans out there. Oh, and there's co-op! Yeah I read the room and if you haven't gotten by the first few levels and noticed all the details you can surely and properly git gud! Don't let the Hunter's get you down. If you shoot them long enough, they'll die.

It's the objective standard of the original that people are holding "Halo Studios" accountable to. No one is crying or whining. People are simply pointing out the extreme discrepancies between the original and the new one. A remake is supposed to improve upon the original, not be reduced to a lesser experience all around.

But by all means, you do you and complain about 'complainers' on an enthusiast internet forum.

Character models have taken a couple passes through an AI agent and it strikes me as cheap/sloppy. There are a handful of instances where Chief appears like an alpha model without textures. Plus I am finding it strange to hear voice lines delivered differently, but that's likely just nostalgia blinding me.

Perhaps I'm being too harsh since I cherish the original as one of my 5 favorite games ever. Genuinely I'm lukewarm, it plays nicely enough but there was a lot more they could have done and I'm left thinking this was nothing more than a testing ground that they converted into a cash grab. Comparing it against the MCC version, I'd rather that offering than this.

Tally me on team "Uh-oh" with respect to Halo Studios. At this point I am disappointed that this wasn't entrusted to someone like Saber or Bluepoint.

Buy MCC on steam. Play Halo CE on classic graphics, because its anniversary graphics are shit. Don't play Halo 4, as it retcons the big reveal that bungie was hinting since Halo Ce.

Even the original Halo plays great, much like classic Doom still does. What disappoints many people is that it lacks the kind of overdelivery they expected from the third version (!) of such a stellar and iconic game.

This should've been a fantastic and easy slam dunk, and with a nice depth of added features and bonuses. But no... They did a few things right, but still falls way short of expectations. Amateurish handling of a billions dollar franchise, as always... How can it be..
