Xenoblade Genesis Announced

Looks amazing. I love it. Can't wait for it!

Am surprised that it's another Blade game, though. I thought I heard the saga was done, but am not complaining. This will be great.

Is this what Switch 2 Flagship games are going to look from this point forward ?, because holy - 2015 called they want their image quality, assets and textures back.

Thank god for monolith with 1-3 upgrades and this. Finally they can show switch 2 devs how to make visually good games

one thing that threw me off is the stupid team/squad vibe. Whatever happened to meeting your comrades along the way? I assume they've never heard about sex either. That was when I stopped playing XB3. I want to like it but I haven't really been impressed by anything other than the environments and the monsters.

Seems like Saito is not the main chara designer this time.

Genesis is probably gonna be the aftermath of XB3/Future Redeemed. Those that know. You know.

Kind of adds some bitter context to Chapter 13 of XCX as well.

I'm looking forward to it. Hope they keep the Persona High School stuff to a minimum.

????Thats because in XC3 characters didn't born in natural way and dont live long.
I think it goes back to Western culture because that type of revelation usually added some sorta lewdness to it. So naturally, it wasn't perceived with a great sense of clarity. I don't mind intelligent or subtle hints without exposure. I was just thrown off by it. The pacing threw me off. Long dialogue heavy scenes with a lot of context. While I want to jump in and grind to the next series of bosses or enemies.

I think those graphics suck ass. I honestly expect better graphics than that out of Switch 2.

Remember Monolith pulled this off with the Wii U:

When docked the Switch 2 is about 9 times more powerful than the Wii U. We should be seeing far more impressive graphics out of Switch 2 games than we're seeing. Except that costs money and time, and if developers can get away with lackluster graphics well, they will do so. Aside from the unimpressive graphics, I didn't see anything intriguing gameplay-wise or plot-wise at all in that trailer. If it wasn't named Xenoblade and was instead had some generic JRPG name, I doubt too many would have any hype at all. Except for desperately thirsty Switch 2 owners I guess.

The most generic Xenoblade game I have ever seen.

School of something or other - Check
Dragons - Check
Indistinct Character Design - Check
Indistinct Open World w/ Giant rock structures in the background - Check

Coming from Xenoblade 3 with its unique character design and story, this is a pretty sad display.

It doesn't look bad like what some people are saying but the style and character designs don't feel consistent with the series. Then again it's not a numbered entry and is titled Genesis so maybe that's intentional.

The soundtrack that enriches your adventure is being created by a team of composers led by Yasunori Mitsuda, joined by Mariam Abounnasr and Manami Kiyota. The acclaimed choir ANÚNA also lends its voices to the music.

The gang is back. No ACE+ though? It would be a shame if Kenji Hiramatsu is not composing, his tracks were absolute bangers.

I think main negative is I am not feeling the character designs too much. But it's early.

It does look like Monolithsoft played a little bit too much FE:3H and said I want my game to be that.

And of course we need to know about how the game plays. No actual combat gameplay was shown in the trailer.

Good to see its looks like an entire original Xenoblade story. Not all Xenoblade games need to be linked.

The 3rd game should have been the DL expanded and the main game its own thing, no need to link it to 1 or 2.

TLDR- 0 compalains with graphic fidelty or IQ/30fps since its openworld game on switch2, 2021 entry lvl nvidia tech.
What i dont like here is female protag/ magic academy storyline, would rather prefer male with big sword or fist fighter instead.

Some fair criticisms and dislike of some of the artistic choices.

But Takahasi and the Mitsuda made 3 great and memorable games with XC1-3 and wonderful music and I expect this to be the same.

I expect the final product to be much more polished as well. Still a ways away.

I was expecting more from Monolith with the Switch 2 hardware. Incredible how Falcom with their small team and many projects at once still outdo these devs
What games are you comparing this with ?
No Falcom game has the scope of any Xenoblade game.
