Usually i'm pretty generous with these things. I can understand that context matters a lot with State of Plays - some will be better than others, and it's important to bear in mind how the release calendar looks when all is said and done. There is a lot to play in the next year, perhaps even too much.
The problem, however, is that it's all from third-parties. Sony themselves have completely dropped the ball this generation and it's looking like they're not reversing course any time soon. After the exciting initial reveal, seeing Wolverine in action was so disappointing. It's the most generic shit ever and looks like they could've released it on PS4.
But the most egregious trash that was shown, by far, was God of War Laufey. And with that, one of the most brutal and epic franchises in all of gaming has been reduced to a Disneyfication of its former self. Who the hell thought that a wisecracking jello cube was needed here? The game, looking like a DLC for Ragnarok, is also doing nothing to push the needle cinematically. To this day, there are still bigger feeling set pieces in God of War 3...
Normally i'd rate this a C, but just on principle alone i'm giving it an E. Sony need to get their act together for PS6.
