How would you rate the June 2 2026 State of Play?

I haven't felt so disconnected from Sony and Playstation in maybe my entire life. This entire slate is just a massive stream of "meh" and "eh". Anything that looked even somewhat decent will also come to PC so there's no reason to reconnect my PS5 whatsoever.

PS5 generation fucking sucks. I haven't touched my PS5 since Yotei and I never played it that than 20 hours.

Terrible generation.

I can't believe i'm saying this but the Toy Story 3 Complete Edition Remaster announced hours ago was far bigger and better than anything in Sony's biggest PS5 showcase of the year...

Ill, Onimoosher, and Ace Combat 8 are day 1. Control maybe. Stuntman could be cool. Idk. Maybe Geoff's show will be better.

Most of the games had already been announced, but at least we got some release dates. Almost everything is releasing in September because of GTA VI, though...
I have mixed feelings about the GoW game. They shouldn't have shown the first 20 minutes to showcase the game for the first time. I think they wanted to emulate the 2018 GoW reveal, but it didn't work too well this time, at least for me. Not even announcing the year means it will probably be released later than Intergalactic...

Wolverine looked good although I am a little puzzled as to why Jean Grey looks like a grandmother on her final outing

Ace Combat looks good

I wish Santa Monica would try a new IP at some point, I appreciate God of War is successful and has a lot of fans, I am bored of it personally.

Silent Hill I like the look of , will see how it turns out

Tomb Raider looks fun , possibly a day one buy

Honestly B, I don't know how you can look at all the at least decent looking games releasing this fall and go lower. Onimusha and Phantom Blade continue to look great. As a showcase of the back half of the year, I'm happy.
 
Wolverine is pure trash, like it can go straight to the garbage.

GOW looks insane visually but at the same time seems to play exactly the same, and the tone seems all over the place.

I think we're not going to get a good show till the PS6 reveal. Seems like they've moved everyone onto crossgen and want to reveal them at that event with PS6 footage.
 
Pluses were Rayman Legends Retold, No Rest for the Wicked, Tomb Raider, Stuntman and the 'not Jurassic Park' game.

I'll give it a C for those titles alone.

Sonys first party though, Christ. F.

And we won't even get PC mods to fix Wolverine and Goddess of War to not have ugly ass characters.
 
Im sorry but Wolverine looks good, Tomb Raider looks dope, God of War looks amazing, ILL, Lost Wild, Ace Combat 8, Kemuni, Phantom Blade Zero, Onimusha all look good. Decent showing, lots coming this year. B- it needed a couple more first party updates. Undecided on Until Dawn 2 though, but first was good so who knows.

It was an A. Incredible stuff, just game after game. Most impressive show they've done since E3 2016 if you ask me. The Faye game is by far the most stunningly beautiful graphics I've ever seen.

Also wow at Rayman. Wasn't expecting that visual style. Gorgeous.
 
Terrible, God of War: Laufey looked like every modern gaming trope mashed together. Wolverine looked uninteresting in the gameplay segment they showed. Until Dawn 2 and Stuntman were the only two highlights in terms of reveals for me. Sony continues to stray from what gave them a market lead
 
The new God of War game looks incomprehensible and boring. So certain people will eat it up. Why couldn't they just do a game with one pantheon

Tomb raider,ILL and until dawn 2, lost wilds dinosaur game next year look amazing.

This year Silent hill Townfall,Phantom blade zero and onimusha.bring it on.

No jurassic park survivor though

D, didnt sell me on ps5/pr0 at all, likely gonna buy/play wolverine and maybe granny of war in 2028 on my brand new ps6, so games will be either 2nd hand or discounted to hell and back.

the show for a state of play wasn't terrible....

but they also hyped the fuck out of this and people went to cinemas and shit...

so in that sense this was utter trash.

the new stuff looks crap, the stuff we knew about already didn't show well at all and it was just really too long.

Like i loved dune awakening, but that game is out, people have finished it, i've finished it, why are we wasting so much time on it.
