I've been convinced for some time that the people who write these female characters have a deep dislike for actual women. You see it in female characters that have all feminine traits stripped away. They're basically 'men with boobs' and that's why they're "strong". Heck, we're at the point where female characters aren't even allowed to like or be with men. They're either lesbians from the start or become lesbians - like the wife in this game.

No person who truly wants to represent women writes like this. Of course, they keep telling us it's about that and empowering women. I just don't believe them.

If you like it, that's cool too, but OP is not a racist, (for those of you asserting as much, grow up), for simply sharing information about aspects of the writing that many of us would want to know before making a purchase and thus unwittingly supporting a product that we wouldn't have had we known otherwise, as the story does sound polarizing at the very least, and I think that's being kind.

I'm saying it sucks and it's woke.

Substitute any of the pandering identity traits, the plot would still be terrible on its own. I don't really have any interest in playing a person who cheats on their spouse, murders to cover it up, goes through a loop to rescue that person out of guilt, and then the end is they just rightfully leave you for someone else.

Why would I wanna play someone who I'm rooting against? Unless the twitter post is wrong or being unfair, nothing about it appeals to me beyond the gameplay.

Dude, do you even know how women work? Arjun (main character) was an alcoholic and cheated on Nitya. Like, that's a pretty good indication for why she had enough of men and fell in love with a woman - which is much more common for women, than men falling in love with other men after being in an abusive relationship with a woman.

Some of you guys are so simple minded, it's actually sad you think something is woke - just because you're so unenlightened.
 
Regardless of any woke, it sounds like another terrible, subversive, nihilistic story. I'm currently watching a video of Deadly Premonition. Now that's a game with a great story and characters. Developed with a fraction of the budget, but with care and attention. I wonder if devs these days feel passionate about the stories they're telling. I can't fathom it.

Throughout my several years of practice, I've met a woman who almost got killed by her now ex-husband. And another one who had her face pretty much disfigured by her boyfriend. Cases that are much worse than any infidelity.

None of them turned gay.
