Housemarque chasing trends with that roguelike crap for no reason, they made the best twin-stick shooter of all time (literally the GOAT) with Nex Machina and that didn't need no progression grinding and neither does Saros, so it's not surprising at all that the story is chasing trends in the same way their gameplay is
