No shit, console games are developed on PCThe game is being developed simultaneously for PC. The leak revealed that Insomniac had a playable PC version at least three years ago. That was a very early build tho but still.
At this point I think it would cost more to modify the contract than to release the game after a few months of PS5 exclusivity.
Buy a PS5 and stop complaining.but what can you do.
Buy a PS5 and stop complaining.
Initially it wasn't, but I think they have reached a point where it became so.It's not exactly a big surprise, many people said so from the start
I think you read my comment wrong or understood it wrong, I'm not complaining at all...Buy a PS5 and stop complaining.
Yes they would & historically have.Which sounds quite dumb, especially in this economy most people won't buy a console just to play one or two exclusives. But who knows.
"Sense" he's getting. Aka "bro trust me"Is this his opinion or he heard this? Seems like an opinion honestly. I just don't believe it but we will find out soon with Yotei.
For sure, but the people who want to play the games on day one will buy the consoles to play them. So the strategy of waiting a year or so to release them on PC should be solid imo.I think Wolverine would move a few consoles.
I know GTA would.
Also we are talking just 1 game and they would likely still release it just after 3 years instead of 1 year. They would still be able to sell it on PC.
It really doesn't matter what's in the contract. It's very simple. Sony calls Marvel and says "hey we can renegotiate this contract since we don't want to release it on PC". Marvel either agrees or they say no lets leave it as is. It's not like the contract has some condition that doesn't ever allow it to be adjusted even if both parties agree to renegotiate. We don't know the underlying of the contract for Indiana Jones. And what's true for one things might not be for another anyway.
As I said, time will tell![]()
It speaks to the lack of seriousness of the source when giving analysis of the industry. Maybe he means it this time or maybe he is just 'owning the chuds' again or whatever, we cannot know. What is this? Reminder Jason Schreier is an ass? Like it or not......dude is pretty accurate. Also, doesn't really have much to do with this thread other than to derail it.
Of course, but the reality is that for a lot of people, Sony can take their money on Valve's store or nowhere. They want people to spend money on their own store not Valve's....
Hes not wrong.
Exactly. I would love to play Demon's Souls Remake, but if it's not PC, I ain't buying a console for it.The part I still don't really understand about this theory is, if Sony has committed to the change, what is the benefit of keeping it secret? If a game people expect to come to PC eventually (Yotei, Wolverine etc.) is actually not coming to PC, it seems to me it would make far more sense to let people know that so that they are encouraged towards PS rather than left waiting.

Ms error was not putting their games on pc...in fact that actually saved them cause they were not selling since xbox one era. So i sont understand you argument ....doesnt affect sony, or maybe it does? Too many ppl playing it on pc rather than their shitry console that cant even do 60fps...had them worried. Not gonna end. Just slower but they will still port to pc.It's a mistake to put them on PC, because it degrades the value of the platform, which is in the end the only thing they got. We saw it happen with Microsoft, I don't know why people deny them. I've been saying it for years.
Also, let's be real, after the first couple, the sales haven't been that great on PC, you become a miniscule fish in a massive pond instead of owning the pond entirely, you have to deal with chuds review bombing your game, "bad port" criticisms, pcfat hostility, all this shit. They've been doing this for what 5 years, makes sense to analyze and see if the juice is worth the squeeze.
Of course, but the reality is that for a lot of people, Sony can take their money on Valve's store or nowhere.
You're right I couldn't enjoy my playstation cause other people played the games on their PCGood, that was a dumb fucking thing to do in the first place. Completely devalue your console.
Ohh, this is good info. Thank you. I wonder why Scherier said this:
Day one on PC devalues the Xbox consoles. Day one on Game Pass devalues the game.Ms error was not putting their games on pc...in fact that actually saved them cause they were not selling since xbox one era. So i sont understand you argument ....doesnt affect sony, or maybe it does? Too many ppl playing it on pc rather than their shitry console that cant even do 60fps...had them worried. Not gonna end. I think this is more so representation that there's no demand to play these games on PC. What left is there to even port?
I have no doubt that if they actually start making games people want to play Sony will start porting it on PC but for now it just doesn't seem it's worth it given that there's virtually no desire to play these games.
They both can be high value.Day one on PC devalues the Xbox consoles. Day one on Game Pass devalues the game.
It was always slopSo 2018 God of War was this amazing masterpiece, and when it got ported to Steam it transformed into slop? Okay, gotcha.
Marketing blitz and hype on release. So why do their games sell so well on Playstation?

They have Demon's Souls, Gran Turismo 7, Astrobot, Ghost of Yotei still unported and nothing announced.Because they don't have games to port
Yup. That's what matters in the end, but having exclusives go elsewhere means some people are less likely to buy (insert console here) to play those games. They both can be high value.
Depends on enjoyment I get out of them.
Not really the type of game Sony would care about. Kena is not a system seller type game. This isn't about little dinky indie projects that don't even sell that well on Playstation itself.meanwhile ... sony just put storepage of Kena sequel on steam ... where they are publisher
Sure, but it's a good idea when it concerns your professional credibility. If someone has previously shown a willingness to deliberately give misleading analysis because fighting the culture war is more important to them than maintaining their credibility, it is reasonable to doubt the integrity of their future analysis. No one is required to be serious all the time.
but its still technically second party exclusive ... same as Kojima stuffNot really the type of game Sony would care about. Kena is not a system seller type game. This isn't about little dinky indie projects that don't even sell that well on Playstation itself.
I doubt many PC gamers will if they aren't already invested PlayStation.I ain't buying a console for it.
these guys? you mean Jason, the reliable reporter? He is not willing anything. He's a dumbass sometimes, but he is not a liarLmao these guys are trying so hard to will this into existence![]()
I think Sony will do it on a game-by-game basis. They have never ever said all of their games will come to PC. Ever. People just keep pushing that narrative. If it takes a multiplatform deal to get the license, so be it. GAAS/Multipalyer that leads to more DLC? Why not? They are not backing away as much as they have never been fully committed.
Not expecting this to be a good news honestly.Yup. That's what matters in the end, but having exclusives go elsewhere means some people are less likely to buy (insert console here) to play those games.
Nintendo are doing it the right way.
Bullshit, we know that Insomniac is contractually obligated to release the game on PC

Edit: @Zacfoldor I have some bad news for you. Mind you it's not limited to Wolverine but all X-Men games, same applies to Marvel releases (including the futur Spider-Man 3)
lets hope these mythical exclusive will come out this decade .... and not just "improved ports" and crossgen stuff.Nintendo has real exclusives, and they're a huge hit.
