There has not been a game where you can magically rebuild stuff. That is actually a pretty hard thing to pull off.I love how dynamic the environment is.
Lego games. There has not been a game where you can magically rebuild stuff. That is actually a pretty hard thing to pull off.
I think previous HP games had it, but it was on a smaller scale.
Quantum break did something similar with the timelapse setpieces. There has not been a game where you can magically rebuild stuff. That is actually a pretty hard thing to pull off.

When did such a minority become "the world"
waaay beyond delusional. has any other entity ever experienced more 'jumping the shark' moments than the woke movement?...IGN's "Unfortunately it's all happening at the exact moment the world is reconsidering their life long ties to one of the greatest story ever told.."

neither, for that matter, has j.k. rowling ever said so. 'anti-trans mouthpiece'?! the ign preview is just revoltingly awful...It is the classic case of not separating the author from their work. It is not like there is anti trans stuff in the game. No trans bad guys or monsters. No characters saying that trans people are bad and evil.
It’s going to make billions. How is the marketing for this game going? I imagine a brand like Harry Potter (even after all the J.K. Rowling debacles) should strongly invest in a game like this since it's an IP that hit the mainstream, so it shouldn't take too much effort for it to get into people's mouths.
Last time I checked JKR was not anti-trans.It is the classic case of not separating the author from their work. It is not like there is anti trans stuff in the game. No trans bad guys or monsters. No characters saying that trans people are bad and evil.
The previewers were invited to Paris to an event for the game. The previews came out of that event. I know the event was mentioned by some on twitter last week. What the fuck with these previews: a) they came out of nowhere (like I was fully prepared for the only "preview" to be the reviews themselves) and 2) these are shockingly positive.
. . .and IGN's video, while going a bit into the editorializing side of things, was about as fair as you can get. As such I'm sure there are some who complain it is included at all.
Also, now that we're seeing these previews, we can kind of just do away with the overall shitting on AVALANCHE based solely on what these professionals were ORDERED to make. Like, the comments about the world looking empty and barren were already being quashed by those 20-minute ASMR videos of the different seasons they were doing, but the detail in some of these shots (that are on the PS5 I'm guessing) are ridiculously good.
In what world is a story where the main character literally always wins through plot convenience "one of the greatest stories ever told"IGN's "Unfortunately it's all happening at the exact moment the world is reconsidering their life long ties to one of the greatest story ever told.."

there was a 1st person shooter in which you had a gauntlet and you could rebuild destroyed bridges and stuff like that , i forgot what the name was , it was in 2007 or 2008There has not been a game where you can magically rebuild stuff. That is actually a pretty hard thing to pull off.

Oh yeah. She is pretty detached from this. She probably did some broad strokes on the lore of the game. There may be a bible or something. Not even, because she really had nothing to do with making the game itself. Yes, the “universe” is her IP but afaik she had no involvement with the development of the game itself. I struggle to call that her “art”, imo.
She was inspiration and probably gets a royalty cut for the IP, but she was not the painter here.
Yeah or it’s early game, still. There are four difficulty modes in the game, it was confirmed in the first gameplay showcase in November last year. The preview event was most likely locked to either Easy or Normal. To keep messaging consistentMaybe he is playing on easy or normal.
4 difficults sounds good, usually when they are 3, hard is still pretty easy, so i can hope for a very hard mode (that they have to call death eater)Yeah or it’s early game, still. She does, however, bite back
Fine, i edited the post lets talk the gameNone of this has anything to do with the game. Why are we still talking about this here?
Can we just have one thread where we don’t have to sift through the non-game related stuff? Honestly, it’s exhausting
I heard the Quidditch World Cup PC game way back when was decent, but yeah that’s an entire game based on just the sport, no other game elements. DLC to flesh out Quidditch and make it into a game mode could be cool, tho!Y
Yeah as cool as quidditch was in the books. The rules didn't make any sense. Not to mention having to program all that shit it would probably be more complex than your yearly sports game
maybe come the day we have game previews where we don't have to sift through the non-game related stuff? the ign preview is more aggressively offensive than anything being said in this thread...None of this has anything to do with the game. Why are we still talking about this here?

No ethical gamers are allowed on this bus. It’s certainly started.
Point taken. I guess my response to this would have to be, it’s bad enough it’s being mentioned in the media previews. Why pile on and continue the derailment that’s got *literally nothing to do with the game* in one of the only forums where we can actually talk about it without being canceled and banned for no reason .maybe come the day we have game previews where we don't have to sift through the non-game related stuff? the ign preview is more aggressively offensive than anything being said in this thread...
okay, i'll shut up, now...
The funniest part will be when aome of them secretly start buying it and get exposed and bannedSo many sites to black list how will reeeeeee cope?
I mean it would be ignoring the elephant in the room.None of this has anything to do with the game. Why are we still talking about this here?

the anti-rowling 'pop culture moment' has been going on for 2 1/2 years now. & it's showing no signs of going away any time soon:Point taken. I guess I’m just a fan of ignoring all the noise. People are gonna remember the game, if it’s good. Not the pop culture moment of this weird news cycle.
On June 6, 2020, Rowling retweeted an op-ed piece that discussed “people who menstruate,” apparently taking issue with the fact that the story did not use the word women. “‘People who menstruate.’ I’m sure there used to be a word for those people. Someone help me out. Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud?” she wrote...

Gotta wait til July, I am sure. Theres no point in showing a heavily compromised version in January for a July release port.
LOL I don't think they have anything they could show at this point. I would picture like how Outer Worlds runs on Switch, and potentially that or worse.I know, I was joking. I think Warner bros is afraid to show the switch version
I just like how the IGN preview had that little stinger at the end. YOU SHOULD FEEL BAD FOR PLAYING THIS GAME.
Unfortunately, it's all happening at the exact moment the world is reconsidering their lifelong ties to one of the greatest stories ever told.
Of course, anyone who chooses to play Hogwarts Legacy must contend with all sorts of contradictions — most of which are far more important than the usual dissonance we tend to find in video games. J.K. Rowling has established herself as one of the most prominent anti-trans mouthpieces on the planet. The character creator in Hogwarts Legacy offers a huge amount of gender diversity, but that cannot change the fact that the author of these books remains the proprietor of the Harry Potter intellectual property. If purchasing this video game feels like a tacit endorsement of Rowling's retrograde worldview, nobody can say you're wrong. I spoke with Alan Tew about these questions during my visit, and you can read the results of our conversation here — but you are not likely to find a clean answer to those concerns. It looks like we're finally getting a good Harry Potter game. Shouldn't it feel better than this?
Woke game, boycott, ban all GAF discussions on it.The character creator in Hogwarts Legacy offers a huge amount of gender diversity
At the end, he says "Shouldn't it feel better than this?". He is implying you should feel bad. What they actually said was, of course, more nuanced than what you posted:
The bit in bold is the only definitive I have an issue with. The rest of that, which is the entirety of their commentary on the issue, is SPECTACULARLY fair and in no way says you should feel "bad" for playing the game, simply that it is okay if you do (and by implication, okay if you don't as well, since moralistic judgements aren't typically the job of video game reviewers) and choose not to engage with the game.
If we go by Pc requirements. Its 1080p-1440p 60 fps on Medium/High Ultra Textures Setting.Yeah, looks like the console versions are going to be lower res even at 30FPS. Looking at the jack frags video and its stuttering and doesnt look anywhere near native 4k. I imagine that could be youtube compression. Think ill pick up the Xbox version for my daughter but Ill buy on PC if its good.
