You will need to do this every time you update your drivers. For the mass public that set it to automatic this could mean, on medicore hardware / non-SSD / bad (threads unused) launch params, couple hours or more wait time repeatedly.I still don't understand why it can't do this before you launch a game.
What would be needed hardware wise to solve the issue?
Errr 4k 90FPS here locked buttery smooth on most ported games. I swear most of those who commented here don't even play on PC
The shittiest ports from consoles from 2006~2011 are far better than the best console versions and there is controller support on PC since middle 90s. Maybe even before.remember 2006-2011 ish with the shitty PC ports of console games and no controller support until Xbox made theirs official?
Had to editGet a PS5 and a XBSX. Problem solved.
It's ease to notice those who don't or pretend they do or are totally ignorant on operating a pc.I swear most of those who commented here don't even play on PC.
I meant for those ports, Assassins Creed is one that comes to mind, No controller support at all, in fact Mass Effect 1 as wellThe shittiest ports from consoles from 2006~2011 are far better than the best console versions and there is controller support on PC since middle 90s. Maybe even before.
Very easy to use controllers on both, but for Mass effect I would not use a controller not even if EA paid me as it is a freaking shooter.I meant for those ports, Assassins Creed is one that comes to mind, No controller support at all, in fact Mass Effect 1 as well

Switch to Linux and compile shaders there, the amount of games that don't have these issues is wild.Calisto has frigging broke me. It started with Horizon Zero's PC port with shader compilation issues up the wazoo, cyberpunk, then dying light, Elden ring, Spiderman, sackboy all having high as fuck PC requirements, Gotham knights looking like a terrible 2011 open world game while having system requirements higher than what it looks to need. And now we have callisto which is a laggy piece of shit on even the best PCs
If it isn't stuttering and shader compilation it's abnormally high system requirements that blocks off anyone using a 1060 or a 1050ti and prevents midrange from bring able to max out the game easily. The state of PC ports in 2022 is fucking embarrassing, half of the time a new, anticipated game gets buttfucked by a terrible PC port. Can developers not optimize anymore? I got my PC to get better performance than anything else and now I'm getting games laggier than a Kenyan's internet connection.
I understand 2k for a GPU is a lot of money for the vast majority of gamers but there is a decent number of people gaming that 2k doesn't really move the needle of things to spend money onjust get HeisenbergFX4 to buy it for you..apprently he has lots of peanuts, I mean cash lying around.
Let us know if it works! This is one of the cool things of PC gaming: if something's broken, community is there to fix it.Might've been posted already, but I'm about to try this out. Voted one of the most helpful reviews on Steam:
It helped for me only with 30fps cap. Worst offender I had so far was Outriders. No matter what system I tried it on: Win10, RTX 2070 Super: stuttery mess. Win11, RTX 3080, stuttery mess. I messed with the RAM clock speed and latency, didn't help. Overclocking, underclocking, a shitton of different driver settings, etc. The only thing that does help a little is to cap it at 30fps because apparently most frame render spikes are shorter than 33.33ms and hence are compensated by the high frame render time of 30fps. But seriously... this game runs easily at +60fps at 4k and I'm not willing to sacrifice that much fps for a game that looks like Outriders just to compensate most stutters (and still not all stutters, by the way).Like i said in another thread, i rarely get much loading stutter, even in UE4 games. I think because i play on a 60hz tv at 60fps, it helps with stutter with my gpu not being at 99% constantly like you will get with people playing at uinlocked framerates.
Will do.Stick to consoles if you are THAT slow.

Hold up , the 30 mode is low / medium settings on PS5? Not sure about that oneGaming is in a tough spot right now.
You either pay roughly 2k for a 4090 to get a good experience or get a console to play games at 25-30FPS on the equivalent of low/medium PC settings.
On the contratry and I mean to stay wealthy. Thats why I won't spend unreasonable amounts of money on small barley necessary/visible gains. You sound poor
Liar. Get it for $70 on ps5/XB to get worse IQ, higher lag, 60fps limit, no m+kb gunplay, no 21+:9, etc, etc...I'm not getting much stutter max setting 4k i9 12900k rtx3080 done 4 hours so far and I've less than ten instances of stutter. Had it really bad in devil in me before the patch.
Listen I've been tinkering on PC games for 20years. I've got enough of it. I wanna install a game and play it not fiddle around with settings, configs and whatnot. Been there done that. Not interested anymore. So based on these comments the problem is the PC platform and not the devs for halfassing their games? Also, with some tinkering you will get the games to run perfectly fine. Cod mw2 stutters like crazy on PC, it locks up as u jump out of the plane. The solution , turn on gun blur and all stuttering is gone. Not a PC issue it's a dev issue.
Gave pc gaming a chance a big time money pit.
Why would make it up ? I'm always been very honest about performance if go back couple days worth of my comments you'll see me complaining about stutter in devil in me if stuttering like that I would be raging.Liar. Get it for $70 on ps5 to get worse IQ, higher lag, 60fps limit, no m+kb gunplay, no 21+:9, etc, etc...
Sarcasm. I don't doubt you.Why would make it up ? I'm always been very honest about performance if go back couple days worth of my comments you'll see me complaining about stutter in devil in me if stuttering like that I would be raging.
Cool. Go enjoy stuff like Shadow of the Colossus at 10fps, OoT at 20, Gotham Knights at 30fps, etc, etc and there is nothing to do about shit stuff like that.I wanna install a game and play it not fiddle around with settings, configs and whatnot. Been there done that. Not interested anymore.
Please, don't bully the N64.Cool. Go enjoy stuff like Shadow of the Colossus at 10fps, OoT at 20, Gotham Knights at 30fps, etc, etc...
Lol pc gaming. Series X solves your problems xD
The platform war responses are hilarious.
Imagine being a console warrior and thinking that a low/mid-tier hardware spec with a specific closed DRM ecosystem solves all issues around needing config settings or performance patches, which have been status quo on the open platform for decades; Now in the era of console games releasing with no liberty for config settings, still needing day-one patches.
It's just mind boggling. A broken game is a broken game. Developers make trash. When it happens on consoles it's universal suffering for all, and typically PC gamers have the luxury of saving themselves or helping each other out of it.
So it could be done? All I need is the option to set it and forget it. I'll happily let my PC do something in the background while I'm surfing the net or watching Netflix. You will need to do this every time you update your drivers. For the mass public that set it to automatic this could mean, on medicore hardware / non-SSD / bad (threads unused) launch params, couple hours or more wait time repeatedly.
Maybe all they know about is the last heavy marketed AAA(A) game. There are hundreds of games out there yet most people tend to play the same shit as everyone else. The problem is:
WHY THE FUCK DO YOU GUYS BUY PC GAMES DAY ONE???
As a rule of thumb wait 6 months to a year to get the superior and way cheaper experience. Hell maybe it's on gsmepass by then.
The software industry is all about releasing broken shit that will eventually be fixed (minimum viable product)
Some incredibly bad takes in here, lot of peasants, lol.
This what, year three(?) of Epic still not playing nice with DX12. It will get patched, but the stuttering is either from the shader cache or the devs borked the way the PSOs are landing in VRAM, or both.
The moral of the story is playing games DAY 1 on ANY platform, is usually a fools errand.
