Do you get physical or digital mainly?

I mainly got physical games up until 2021 because I liked collecting the cases but i've given in to how convenient just getting everything digitally is. I hate having to change discs all the time, especially now that my PS5 is set up to face the wall which would mean I would have to turn it around every time I want to change discs. I like having everything on the fly.

Been digital since 2004. Or, semi. Did mainly physical in x360, sold everything, regretted it later, been full digital only since xbox one launch and will never look back.

Only one digital copy for both me and my gf to play at the same time.

Can't beat that price.

Edit - I'm physical on switch. I don't trust Nintendo when it comes to digital.

If it's available physical, that's how I buy it.
I don't mind digital for indies, flash sales, etc. Series S I'm all digital.

Physical on Switch, digital on everything else. I just don't trust Nintendo about their servers. I mean I can still download my digital PSP games. I can't do that with my damn 3DS.

Digitally, I used to be a physical only stan until they started making the disc unlock keys.

I Miss the days when you bought a physical game and it had a cool instruction booklet. Old GAF, We didn't know how good we had it. :messenger_pensive:

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
Physical on Switch. Digital on everything else. I don't trust Nintendo much, and the Switch is my favorite console maybe ever. I want to know I'll be able to play these games in 20 or more years.

Mainly physical to add to my PlayStation Collection. I have easily over 100 physical copies for PS2, PS3, PS4 and PS5 all combined. I've started buying some multiplayer games digitally so I can leave my single p[layer game's disc in the console and then jump on something like CoD when my friends get on.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
I pirate all my games so yeah, digital I guess.

Have a few physical games but those were stolen too. Which rises the question: is it bad to pirate a game that you already own, even if it was stolen?

Just kidding bros. I game on PC so mostly digital, but I still get some Switch and PS4 games here and there, and those I get physical.

Last gen was about 50/50 but this gen downloading seems more convenient to me...Having had a fiber connexion during the previuos gen might've pushed me more toward digital though.

I get digital because in my country games are expensive, and almost never come down in price. (You can see PS3 games or Wii U games at some stores selling more expensive than new ones, even sport games!)

If I buy a game full price, it’s cheaper on the PS Store than on any store physically.

If I buy a game on sale, PS store has a much better discount than what’s on any other physical store.

Only Amazon gets to have a better sale once in a while, which for some reason, it’s better for Switch games than PS games.

only physical games i buy are nintendo exclusives. i own botw, animal crossing, switch sports, 3d mario/bowser, smtv, hyrule warriors. my other switch games are digital. haven't bought a physical playstation game in 10+ years. never bought a physical xbox game. haven't bought a physical pc game since 2005.

i would be all digital on switch but doesn't make sense to sell them and rebuy them digitally. so ill just stick to buying nintendo exclusives physically. for nintendos next console i'll definitely buy all digital.

Ps5:
Anything $40 or more physical, under that whatever is cheaper

Switch:
Anything $40 or more physical (which is basically all nintendo games), under that whatever is cheaper.

PC:
Digital only, not that there is a choice.

I usually get more digital games because I rarely buy games at launch and digital sales are generally better than physical sales where I live.

It's the 300th something thread about physical or digital.

Lately, digital. Since you are installing it to the system either way. If there is a game I am not too sure about, I will buy physical so I can resell it.

Physical mostly . I like collecting, love cool box arts, can trade in if the game is disappointing and can borrow to a friend to try out.

Digital for me is mainly Indie games or games on sale I passed on at full price years before.

I used to get everything digital, but after a few bad experiences with the PSN store, and admittedly my own fault in losing accounts with games. I've gone back to discs for PS5 games, on xbox I go mostly digital.

Mainly physical, but I'll buy digital if it's a really good sale, or if it just... isn't available physically. I go with physical for the most part because trading in/reselling games is too good.

I played through DioField Chronicle recently. I definitely enjoyed it, but by the end I was somewhat bored and also realized there was basically no replay value for me (either in re-experiencing the story, or the gameplay itself).
I traded it in to Gamestop after finishing it for $42 store credit (some sort of promo added in about $9), and I only paid $45 for it in the first place. That money now can go towards another game, or games.

if I bought it digitally... it unfortunately would sit as a $60 title in my library that I probably wouldn't ever launch again (while that's hypothetical, I did 100% it and am pretty set on my being done with it).

In the end, it does depend on the title/current sales/availability, but for me the benefits of physical > benefits of digital, absolutely.

Digital only on Steam, been like this for 10 years now.
I like to buy a few physical edition on PC but only for the games I absolutely love and for collecting purpose only (Mirror's Edge, Limbo, etc...)

Gonna use this thread as an excuse to show off my Steam library since I finally finished all my custom covers for it. (Warning: big image)

Only digital, I hate changing disks. I rather prefer to pay 80€ for a digital game than 50€ if it's physical. Yes, I'm crazy.

I only buy digital now. I was big on discs at the start of the PS4/XONE generation but I switched to digital two years in. I got sick of the clutter that comes with collecting and the time involved in trading and selling and just started waiting for digital sales.

I still buy a lot of physical for Switch. I can carry 10 carts around in the carrying case so it's not a huge space hog. I've started buying more digital there, too.

PC - Digital, because there is no other choice. However for that reason I also never go beyond the ~40€ price range for a game I can`t even sell again....
Console(s) - 100% physical.

I swore for years I'd stick with physical because I thought having a collection meant something. One day a flip just switched and I went digital for everything (except for books - I don't trust society to not fiddle around with those to suit current mores).
