backlog bros: what are you playing?

been a pretty dry year overall. elden ring blew my mind (and my cooch) but i feel that i've extracted all the fun out of it after 5 playthroughs. made the painful decision to wait for switch 2 to play xenoblade. not even gonna bother with saints row after the reviews. so i guess it's finally time to dig into the backlog. i would guess many others are doing the same. i have a ton of half finished games too. i've been going back to some really old shit i own and never played like arkham origins. pretty cool game and looks nice on an OLED. the animations are a bit janky but this series was always like that. played a few hours of fallout 4 with mods and got bored. same with GTAV. Checked in on Overwatch and it still sucks.

about to finish up blasphemous on the steam deck. damn, what a cool game. same with the messenger.

What are you guys getting into? I need some inspiration.

Been going through games I have installed currently on my pc and ps5. Figured I should play these first. Then I can go pick more from the backlog to install, since they are just a spec on a mountain for how many games I own and due to issues with my memory I don't remember hardly anything anymore so it is mostly like playing most games for the first time besides maybe things here and there if I'm lucky.

Anyways playing guardians of the galaxy again and hot wheels unleashed I play regularly. Totally recommend hot wheels if your into arcade racers with boost and drifting i think it is safe to say you'll like it. Has a trial of ps premium

Just got Ps+ Extra since I got a Ps5 recently so my next few months will be all about backlog.

Currently playing through Guardians of the Galaxy. So far I'm really enjoying it. It's the usual "movie game" where half the experience is just walking through nice looking locations listening to team banter but the writing has been pretty good and it does look quite nice. The combat is nothing special so far but it's still enjoyable and I love the dualsense integration.

I just wish the 60fps mode didn't come with so many sacrifices. It looks notoriously more blurry, hair and fur loooks bad, textures are notoriously worse. I'm actually doing the walking an talking sections with the "quality" 4K mode because it looks SO much nicer.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Yeah, not playing new games here either. Some cool games might have come out but I'm more attracted to those on my backlog.

Just beat Baldur's Gate II like a week ago. That one I was meaning to play for a long time, vut CRPGs never clicked with me for some reason. It did click this time around tho, and I found myself putting like 70 hours into it in a matter of days. Game's great, has that "adventure feel" too it and I overall enjoyed it. Irenicus is an amazing antagonist, voice acting included.

After that I resumed my playthough of the Yakuza games. Currently playing 5, about 20 hours in, which about 8 have been on doing missions for the Taxi sidequest. Amazing game, so far I'd put it below 0 and maybe Kiwami 2 but above all the previous ones.

It's brand new to me, but if DUSK is in your backlog, play it. I'm thinking only DOOM 2016 and DOOM Eternal look down on it. No joke.

Finish Guardians of the Galaxy on PS5 and really liked that game. Here's hoping they make a sequel.

Currently getting back to Destiny 2 since all DLC's are free this week. Maybe I'll binge the DLC's after or just go straight into Returnal.

Just started playing Judgment. I had the PS5 version in my library for a while now. I also played that massive PS4 demo of it back in 2019 and enjoyed it a lot so I'm expecting to have a good time this weekend.

thanks to better PCSX2 ports on Xbox Series X|S being finally available I found it way more relaxing to play some old PS2 games I never olayed and/or finished.
before I always had to go over to the PC, turn on the PC, change my output monitor to my TV and then navigate the PC with my Dualsense that I set up for that purpose. which was OK, but simply turning on my Xbox and starting XBSX2 is way more straight forward

so currently I play this

(that's Disaster Report 2 btw.)

Haha yeah I know, it's just that I ended up liking it far more than I was expecting, which really doesn't happen a lot to me nowadays.

Glad you got it! Game's great, if you have played any other CRPG you'll feel at home, and if not the game's really not that complicated once you got the hang of the rules.

Destiny 2
Observer: System Redux
Resident Evil VII

Hopefully will manage to complete one of the latter two before TLOU releases, but likely not.

My backlog got a little bit bigger because of PS+ Extra.

From this month:

Finished SM: Miles Morales, amazing game from start to finish. But the combat gets better the more you play and unlock more moves.

Finished Ass Creed Valhalla, loved it but the story was disapointing by the end. Still became my favorite ass creed since the reboot, not for the story but for everething else.

Finished Guardians of the Galaxy, loved the story and the banter between character was very well done and entertaining, with some very funny moments. The combat got boring pretty fast even unlocking more moves and stuff. Having to fight hords of enemies by the end did not helped. Some boss fights was pretty cool though.

Started playing Ys IX: Monstrum Nox two days ago, and so far im loving it.

Resident Evil Village

Put off my current playthrough because of the third person patch. Gonna install it and then finish it. Enjoyed it very much so far.

Skyrim Anniversary Edition

Played a couple of quests but ultimately held off going too far because I want to finish up a few more games first. Skyrim demands a lot of time and I'm in short supply of that right now.

Death Stranding Director's Cut

Played three hours when I first played it six months ago and said "fuck this shit" but I'm gonna give it a real shot. I ain't buying a game just to drop it like that. Every game I purchase deserves my full attention.

Re7-near the beginning so this is low on my list

Horizon Forbidden West and control-halfway through

God of war-got 60%of trophies and beat the main story

Timespinners, infernax, and wild arms are my "retro" backlog additions this week. Zipping through wild arms on my vita through remote play after work

Got a couple.

Been playing Rainbow Six Siege with a friend and that's been awesome. Can't believe I didn't pick it up sooner.

Bouncing between Cyberpunk, Horizon and Manifold Garden. They each scratch a specific itch and Ive been enjoying them all a lot when I spread the times I play em out.

Man I really need to tap into my backlog. I've been mostly playing Bleach Brave Souls since April, a f2p game. The only f2p I ever played.

I’ve been putting alot of hours into The Binding of Isaac: Repentance, inching my way closer to Dead God status. It’s a game that truly never gets old.

Made a deal with my kids that I would buy no new games this year (except Shredder’s Revenge) since I have over a hundred games in my backlog. I’ve finished 23 games so far this year and am currently running through Sly Cooper 3 when they are awake and Mass Effect 3 when they are in bed. Great games so far!

Doom Eternal
Forza Horzon 5 Hot Wheels
and about to add Resident Evil 2 to the mix

I’m an idiot.

Yoku's Island Express, and as someone who loves both pinball and platformers, I can't believe I waited this long. About 4 or 5 hours in, and I love it.

Just got a Quest so it has been all VR for me. Playing through Resident Evil 2 remaster along with getting my ass handed to me in Pavlov.

On the PS5:
Ys VIII (Almost complete)
Yakuza: Like A Dragon (Only 8 hours in)

On the Switch:
Astral Chain (Almost complete)
Metroid Dread (Haven't started)

I have Metro Exodus and Resident Evil Remake queued up after that.

Just finished Devil May Cry 5. I really enjoyed it and now I'm playing Vergil mode. The 'just judgment cuts' are hard to pull off as Vergil. A lot of the complexity for Vergil comes from juggling opponents with the phantom blades.

Recently finished Monster Boy on Switch (great game, wonderful follow-up to Monster World) and have moved on to No More Heroes III. I'm enjoying it so far. Combat is fun and I've always liked the series' weird humor. Graphics are pretty blurry but it's a UE4 game on Switch, so it's kind of expected.

Uhg I've been trying to pick something out but work has been insane and it kind of spoils the gaming. I'd like to check out robotech battlecry. I always liked invasion but never played battlecry.

Returnal. Really love the gameplay and atmosphere!
Sometimes you just have a really bad/unlucky run, but that’s the nature of it I guess.

If you have Gamepass don't forget to play Yakuza like a dragon before it leaves. I'm having such a blast with that game right now.

Mostly been playing Elden Ring for a while but needed a break. Did a quick playthrough on Gears of War 2 campaign and enjoyed it. Currently trying to decide if I want to play Dying Light 2 next or Halo Infinite.

Splinter Cell, the first one. Aiming to do the OG trilogy. It's rough as hell but I can look past that considering the thing is 20 years old now.

I moved into a new place so no internet for a few days. I might revisit RDR2 for a while. I've never finished the game, and it's kind of on my bucket list.

Playing Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY Edition and Need for Speed Hot Pursuit (2010) for the first time. Enjoying both. Listening to pendulum while driving at like 200mph is based.

I'm replaying Uncharted Drake's Fortune, Resistance 3 and Devil May cry 5 special edition.

Slay the Spire and Interstellar Space: Genesis. The latter is a game that can be called a worthy sequel to Master of Orion 2 after 26 years.
