It should be $49. Indies need the higher price point far far more than the AAAA live services relying on super well known IP’s and fleecing people with microtransactions.
They are taking higher risks (considering size and often risky and/or brand new unknown IP’s… have no legion of influencers and shills/reviewers) and need higher rewards.

I do hope they get to sell a few copies and it energises them for a sequel or DLC. There is lots of bundles in content and if they added a few more cars and tracks I would be down for it. Great first Switch game raw thrills.

I feel some folks are negative just to be negative. Remember kids, Games are mean't to be fun.

Judging by some comments here you may think that even just looking at a game sends people into exsistential dread.

The game looks fun, its not flawless in terms of performance, and the boost option is unoptimized. But it looks like tons of fun. So, seems like a good game.

Only some sound issues, but it runs on PC now through the Ryujinx emulator at 4k60. By the time I start emulating all my Switch games at the end of it's lifecycle a lot of the issues like this will be fixed. For now I'm just happy to play this game on Switch, while being able to own a physical copy of the game.

I feel like an online multiplayer would've bridged the gap, making the game more appealing to a wider audience for that price point. Those pick & play type of games benefit greatly from an online multiplayer.

I am literally amazed that this game has more satisfying and natural takedowns than Dangerous Driving, which wanted to be the spiritual successor to Burnout.

the original Cruis'n USA used to be or the very last was planned to be a tech showcase. The N64 delay and the fact that it wasn't an arcade perfect port hampered that though.

It is not. Do not complain if games become a mix of predatory DLC filled Free to Play and giant whales loving AAAA and there is less and less variety with this attitude though.

The game is awesome and tons of fun, all without having to keep me artificially “engaged”.

On your point, you could say most of the basic and "fun" mobile games have great replayability. The reality is that you're getting bored after 10 minutes with 99% of those mobile games. This one seems to be exactly the same.

No, I don't need to play it. Two minutes into a trailer and I know that even my 12 year old son would get bored of it super quickly.

Drifts, stunts, imaginative tracks, colorful... the comparison isn't off at all. The only thing missing are bananas and shells.

Meanwhile, you double down on your shitty take. Maybe I am a little old fashioned on this, but before I criticize a product made for consumption I at the very least consume the product. Everything else is biased, and frankly a useless opinion that benefits no one.

Pick up and play games engage differently, but they still engage. Nobody care whether they engage you except for you.

You don't like it. We get it. But you certainly aren't the gatekeeper when it comes to whether this game is engaging.

Oh, so you actually spent £35/$40 on this trash and now doing your best to justify the investment? Perhaps even trying to convince half of GAF it's not that bad, so you could feel slightly better about this terrible decision?

Stop projecting, buddy. The vast majority of people that played the game are positive about it, so I don't need to convince anyone, neither do I need to justify my purchase.

The color scheme does remind me of old Dreamcast games. ;) Oh the memories.

Some of the stuff does look pretty hilarious. Wish we'd get more humor in racing games like these... not necessarily a car racing game, but perhaps something like a child racing tricycle in some sort of meltdown in the house or sort. (... no, I'm not talking about Shining lol)
