Indiana Jones game is now in 'production' as MachineGames staff switch from Deathloop

I really hope this won't be only on Xbox. They should have revealed the platforms in the first trailer.
Should be on PC too but I’m guessing it’s a multiplat MLB situation since it’s licensed, MS will be forced to make a PS version or they can’t use the IP.

I'd rather have a Wolfy 3 tbh....who fucking cares about Indiana Jones in 2021....I guess Microsoft finally want that Uncharted competitor they never had....bit late as Uncharted isn't a thing now, lol.
Cope.

Why? It’s perfectly normal. Big Studios need help all the time. How many external staff and studios are involved in ND games for example.
Yeah, I guess it is normal to some extent, it just just came across as up to quite recently it could be considered an almost 50/50 effort. The long delay of Deathloop and preorder discounts also might have planted some seeds of doubt in my mind about the game.

Looking at the number of employees I now see that Machinegames is pretty small, so it doesn’t sound as wierd as I thought at first. Seems pretty normal for Zenimax to move around resources to where they are needed.

It’s quite rare (pun intended - Goldeneye reference) for a game based on a movie franchise to be great. There are a few, but the majority tend to be mediocre, so I’m not getting excited about this one just because it is based on Indiana Jones. And lets be honest, the last film was dreadful. As much as it pains me to say it, I just don’t think Indy has a massive appeal now.

there's another Indiana Jones movie in production ..(will be shot in Sicily) ... the hype will certainly increase. Indiana Jones is one of the most famous characters in cinema ... and Uncharted was copied from Indiana ... not the other way around...
Indy >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> and >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> and >>>>>>>>> Nathan. At least as iconic character

Because machinegames' recent track record isn't so great.

I had no idea machinegames were working on Deathloop at all, I thought it was just Arkane.

If we are talking about characters in games and not movie franchises, then Nathan >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Indy. My opinion of course.

I actually don't think Bethesda are in decline. That would be a stupid thing to say since there are multiple studios that make up Bethesda, all of which are at different stages of trajectory.

The likes of Arkane and id are on an upwards trajectory whereas Machinegames are on a clear downwards one.

Unless you want to pretend youngblood is a good game?

More People prefer wolf 3? I want variety from MS. This is good

Give Wolfenstein to id and let machinegames look at something new with fresh eyes to give them a chance to redeem themselves after the abomination that was youngblood.

Don’t Sony already own parts of the Spider-Man license?
But sure, it could happen, but I don’t think it’s very likely.

on Xbox basically mean on PC ..console and basically everything with a browser ..I don't see this form of exclusivity as a problem because it certainly covers a large part of the gamers. Gaf has said hundreds of times that Sony has no leverage on the license for use in videogames of spiderman character, because honestly if Sony is using this as an lock pick to keep such an iconic character away from other platforms would be very devilish and a bad look for them....i just hope marvel went to sony to simply ask for the creation of a video game and sony chose the dev

Spiderman Movie - Sony Pictures
Spiderman Games - Marvel Games

Same here, had no idea Indiana Jones was still a thing in 2021. I feel like maybe it’s just not as popular in Europe.
What? Indiana Jones is very popular worldwide and they are starting to film a new movie soon.

Looking forward to Wolf 3, even though Yungblood was cringy shit, and what they will do with Indy.

Heads up people, expect Indy to be fully Xbox and pc exclusive and you won't be disappointed.

I'm interested in a new Indy game. I don't care about Deathloop and will definitely skip that one, and after Youngblood, I don't have faith in a new Wolf game.

Yeah, these are one of those games I could see come to other consoles unless Microsoft/Bethedia made a crapton of money to Disney. I don't think it will be exclusive.

Tbh I don’t know anybody under 30 who would bat an eye if they would announce that they’re killing the IP.
I think you are underestimating how popular Indiana Jones is. The last movie did well at the box office so I'm sure the next one will too. The game will probably be released around the same time as the movie for marketing reasons. Also the movies get released in 4K next month so the IP is doing well.

I hope these guys know what they're doing. I've been waiting ages for an Indiana Jones game to come along and take back it's rightful mantle from the Lara Croft games.

Not sure if you're joking (apologies if you're lol), but timed exclusivity are almost always like: "X months after release date on [X] platform".

I think it was delayed for more polish, greater install base with more PS5s on the market, and not to cramp it up with Returnal and R&C releases.
I think it was delayed so MS can release it when it will have the least impact. I truly believe they do not want this game to do well.

That's one mighty fine tinfoil hat you're wearing sir
It's just good business sense. The game was never going to sell that well anyway. Better to keep exclusives off a competitors platform until they have something for Xbox to stand against it.

It's clear these companies are fighting dirty now.

There's no good business sense in trying to sabotage a new IP just because it's releasing first on your competitors platform

You say some retarded things sometimes but this one takes the cake

That’s fear. He can feel the threat at every Xbox announcement. Everything related to Xbox is potentially a threat about what has invested in: sony faith, money, time ecc. Don’t be shocked.
I think you credit him for too much thinking.

I think it's just basic console warring at its saddest low effort.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m realising it’s a big deal for a lot of people, just surprised because I felt like it was a bit of a past franchise.

Okay, so which Tomb Raider game sold more than Uncharted 4? Considering Nathan can’t rely on boobs and ass, I think he is doing quite well for himself.

Pffft! Bringing sales into a discussion about who is more iconic!

The only people who know who Nathan Drake is are PS players. Everybody and their dog knows who Lara Croft is (and Indiana Jones for that matter).

Definitely a game to look forward to. I loved the PC games back in the day.

Ok,you are the second person to respond to my joke(perhaps not a great joke, but still a joke)with a remark suggesting it was some sort of jab at Microsoft because I'm a PlayStation owner who is upset?
Let me tell you and everyone else reading this that not everyone on here is a rabid fanboy and sometimes people will just make a joke about something....I know on the internet it's hard to get this across but try and remember this in the future.
I'll be picking up a PS5 and an XSX as soon as I can this gen and am looking forward to the games coming on both systems.....there is way to much geniune console wars nonsense on here lately and I certainly won't be adding to it....but I might make a joke about Microsoft or Sony again too.
