Microsoft is finally clarifying the situation regarding future Bethesda games

JokerMM

Gay porn is where it's at.

Parris’ prediction was that ongoing online games would continue to be supported, and games already on-contract with another platform holder would still come out, but all new and upcoming Bethesda games would be exclusive to Xbox / Game Pass.

So yeah, PS is cucked out of any new bethesda titles like ES6 or fallout 5

I’m okay with this clarification, this is exactly what I wanted to hear, a company doesn’t buy out another company to share its new assets but I’m glad that Microsoft is doing that they did with Minecraft and continue to support your older legacy games. I’m actually happy about this.

Yes it will come out but what makes you sure there is a contract? You seen it
It is PSVR exclusive... no PC version announced.
That means either it has a exclusive contract or a time-exclusive contract.
In both cases it is a contract.

That exchange you posted may be more informative than where we started from today. If that guy was predicting what you wrote then the question may actually be settled finally.

But... the contracts? What about the contracts? Won’t somebody think of the contracts?
Sony playing some 5D backgammon chess and signed contracts for TeS 6,7,8 & 9, The Indiana Jones trilogy, all future Fallout titles (but not DLC), the next 6 Doom games and they actually have exclusivity over the entire Wolfenstein franchise but Microsoft didn’t check the small print.

This is the level some (insane) people are reaching.

It was pretty clear since beginning that all new games will be exclusives to Xbox.

The question was which games already announced have contract in place that forces to release on PlayStation.

In the pool has games like Starfield, TES VI and Indiana Jones... which of these have contracts in place that forces the PS version to be released?

We still have no answer for that.

This thread have the same questions than all previous threads about the subject.
None.

Deathloop has. That will be the last PS game.

Good for XBOX/PC Gamers. Sucks for Sony/Nintendo gamers but such is life. Doesn't affect me because I'm out of touch with modern gaming and haven't played a Bethesda title since Skyrim first released. Ha.

Hopefully not having to develop for multiple platforms will allow them to really utilize the extra resources.

I don't really care about Bethesda's portfolio except for Arkane Studios, guess I'm gonna have to play their future games on the PC.

guess it justifies their big check purchase but to only sell on xbox and pc doesn't make a lot of sense to me sales wise....the way playstation and nintendo sell compared to Xbox, seems stupid to cut those markets out..regardless, i have a gaming rig to play Doom, none of their other games are in my rotation
Lol! PC alone install base trumps PlayStation and Nintendo combined. Then you can add in Xbox consoles.

There is a community mod over Doom 3 BFG... no official release.
Doom 3: VR Edition is still exclusive to PSVR but I believe it will come to PC after some time.
There is probably no need to make it official as the mod is out,.

if I am honest I can’t see it being a massive seller anyway

The delusion this gen is insane. I've seen some wild shit since the N64 vs. PS1 days, but the purposeful ignorance these days is just wild.

What the fuck do you people think actually happens in the real world? Why would Bathesda sign a contract that states ‘this game is multi platform’? Who the fuck would they even sign that with and what would be the benefit to Bathesda of doing that? If this has happened why haven’t Sony briefed anyone that TeS, Indy and Starfield are coming to PS5? Pro tip; it’s because no such contract has been signed.
I'm not going to say anymore on it. When you find out that the PS5 gets some of those games in a few more months or a year or so don't be surprised when people shove it back in your face. Watch and see.

Starfield maybe, but balance of probability says not, unless Sony has some form of exclusivity. We've seen developers cancel games at the last minute, and it would be bizarre to lock someone into a contract to release on your system unless some kind of money has changed hands (and for what?). If I were a producer on the game and I was contractually able to, I'd have cancelled any efforts on the PS5 version back in September and used those resources on something more pressing.

TES is nowhere near the point where platforms are even an issue. That'll be exclusive.

Indiana Jones is the interesting one, and I reckon it comes down to who's paying for it. If Disney are funding it, then there's an almost definite chance it'll be multiplat. If Bethesda (now Microsoft) are funding it, it doesn't matter to Disney that much where it releases. We've already seen with Spidey that they don't mind exclusives so long as they make money, and Indiana Jones would also come to Gamepass, PC and the cloud. It's a mystery, but get used to the idea of it not coming to PlayStation and be pleasantly surprised if it does.

That's probably a good way forward for every Bethesda/Zenimax title from this point onward.

I mean you made up all this because you can’t fathom the idea that they would want to sell more games.

Indiana Jones is a Lucasfilm Games title. Probably doesn't fall under MS aside from the developer.
Huh?... Indians Jones IP is with Lucas film/Disney. Spider-Man IP for games is with Disney yet exclusive to Sony.
Loca film games has 10 employees all to help with licensing IPs for game development.

Sooo 3 things, if warriors want to play any of these games:
  1. Have a decent PC
  2. Buy an Xbox
  3. Sony needs to accept game pass on PlayStation
Oh and a quick edit, if you guys actually expected different then you're slightly retarded. What the fuck did you think? MS spending 7 billion so they can share the IPs?

This game was originally being developed to Oculus Rift but due a legal issue with ZeniMax they stopped the development... after some time it was re-announced as PSVR exclusive.

That is what I know about it... remember that the previous games were launched in VR on PC and PSVR... just this one will be (time?) exclusive to PSVR.

I personally don't care either way, but I would not be surprised at all if they end up releasing "exclusives" on PS like 6 months ~ 1 year after they debut on Xbox/Gamepass. Kind of like how they use Steam.
The difference with Steam is that a PC version already exists. They created a PC version to put on Xbox Game Pass for PC. Why wouldn't they put it on Steam? The work is already done.
They won't create a PS5 version because there's no Game Pass for PS5.

Dude, my position is the statement was so vague no conclusions can be reached yet. Check my post history if you question that.
I've seen some of your other posts on this; I'm just saying today's statement did provide more clarity than Tuesday's statement and to hold the same interpretation on today's statement that you may've held on Tuesday's (if for example that opinion on Tuesday was "all the big games will still be multiplat/multiplat day-and-date" etc.) is possibly a bit erroneous IMO or at least not taking some of the recent developments and statements into account.

yeah I remember that I have one of them on my PC VR, I don’t think doom 3 VR will sell a lot though on with PC OR PS

Great news Xbox gamers !
I don't understand this sentiment (nothing personal, I honestly don't understand). Most (all?) of Bethesda's games would've came to Xbox anyways, so how is this a huge boon for them other than as ammo for the console wars? You might think having a dev focused on your platform of choice would mean their games might perform better than if split with Sony, but this is Bethesda we're talking about - IDs games will continue to run great, Bethesda in-house will continue to be buggy piles of shit, etc.
