Phil Spencer confirms that some new future Bethesda titles will be Xbox and PC exclusive

The revival of Quake will be sooner than we think. Undoubtedly caused by the collective shockwave of the entire weeaboo population, simultaneously throwing themselves down the flight of stairs that leads to their parent's basements after the announcement of acquisition and exclusivity of Sega and Atlus.

I’m surprised there is a lot of console fans for Bethesda games.
Usually I go for PC for Fallout or Elder Scrolls

Stadia isn't bad because of the technology, it's bad because of the business model. Gamepass has a great business model.
I can't speak for everyone of course, but it seemed people said no thanks to the business model because they did not care for the technology, at least in part. I'm not trying to knock Xcloud, but have there been any multiplayer shooters that streamed without lag yet?

Hollyshit this gif is fucking gold, lol

Well they kind of already tried to revive quake in Quake champions? Maybe if they give it the Doom treatment? I would love a new hexen which i don't think is bethesda is it?

Basically he says new announces will be exclusive but they are not sure with contracts already in place like Starfield and TES VI.

That is what most people are asking since nobody expect Starfield 2 or TES VII being on PlayStation.

Again. This was MLB's call. Sony kept it exclusive for as long as they could. I wonder why?
But its not exclusiive anymore.
So does that mean playstation studios and Sony San Diego are no longer an industry leading 1st party studio which is exactly what your post said.

Or do the goalpost move when it's a Sony studio doing the publishing on another platform?

Because MS first party has already been making a killing off Minecraft.

ok so MS only purchased Bethesda, the subsidiary of Zenimax, not Zenimax in whole right?

edit: nevermind, its just that the news is only mentioning Bethesda but I was not clear on whether it was Bethesda Studios (1 studio) or Bethesda Softworks (All studios they publish for)

Strange, there are a lot of words in your post that aren't in the official statement. Is this like the one time you explained the hardware specs of the XSX to an xbox engineer, who didn't even know what you knew? That was some impressive shit. 🤯

Well you've reached the bargaining stage. So that's progress at least.
I'm really not that invested at the end of the day. I don't have a PS5 (I have an Series X) -- so believe me, I'm not a Sony fan in denial. I just call em like I see em. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, it makes absolutely 0 difference to me at the end of the day.

Why are you not getting that Sony would want it exclusive if they had a choice? It's about intent.

Sony had no intentiom for The Show to be on other consoles. They were forced.

My post is very accurate with what he said... it is kinda obvious.
The “expect” avoided the question and he come to talk with me with the PR no sense.... the GPU has non-RDNA2 (including GCN) parts but he never explained why.

Do you have any sources for that? I find it unlikely that they were forced. Pressured with higher licensing costs, etc., would not surprise me. But I find it tough to believe MLB told Sony there would be no baseball games this year unless Sony went multiplatform. Rather, with zero competition I think Sony more likely wanted those micro-transactions from a platform without a baseball game already.

So how can they be a leading 1at party offering when they publish to competing platforms?
That was your argument im just using it against you and you are realising how stupid it is so need to move the goalpost.

MS has been publishing to other platforms since forever that doesn't make their first party studios any less legitimately first party studios.
Contracts that Zenimax already have still have to be honoured.

But because it's MS they then can't be industry leading 1st party studios even if say Doom Next was PC/Xbox you would have to discredit them because MS obviously right?

They need to be more clear. Like how tough is it??? Some new games will be exclusive. Yeah, Xbox will get the games that suck and end up being shit as exclusive but the massive titles like Starfield and TES 6 will be multi-platform. Like, WTF?

If Starfield ends up being on PlayStation 5, im done with Microsoft and Xbox because Phil Spencer never puts his fan base first, front and center. Instead, we get the scraps that should be given to the dogs. I can truly see why people like CrapGamer and MBG left the Xbox eco-system and as of right now, I can't even blame them.

This also says that any future acquisition by Microsoft will result in the same fucking discussion and conversation. SMH.

He could've said what games would be multiplat and which ones would be exclusive.

As long as it can be interpreted in more than way, its shitty fuckin PR, Aaron Greenberg needs to get sacked.
THANK YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU! #firegreenberg

Bingo

So thats Deathloop, ESO, Fallout 76 and possibly Starfield (was that confirmed as a Multiplat title anyway?)

But why are people surprised by this? It's obvious why Bethesda was bought, Fallout and Elder Scrolls are massive names in their own right, now Xbox has them and many others, hopefully this will mean that GameByro and the Creation Engine can be finally put to bed for the next titles
Starfield didn't have any platform announcements with its announcement.

They bought Zenimax

Zenimax is mostly just Bethesda Softworks, the publisher for all the games, Wolfenstein, Dishonored, Doom, ETC. This includes BGS, who makes TES/Fallout/Starfield.

You're forgetting Tango, the Evil Within devs. Speaking of which, I'd love to see something new from them.

What are you talking about.... you can't have contracts with yourself... That is literally what you are suggesting. Starfield and TES VI (which is really really far away) don't have any contracts in place in relation to marketing or such.

The MS/Zenimax deal just got approved. How clear do you want them to be the past 24 hours?

Yeah you see this is what happens when the PR is crap and leave some room for personal interpretations.

Until they’ve announced the exclusivity plans for each game people will keep on buying PS5 instead of XSX even if Bethesda is their favorite dev. Because why wouldn’t they?

Well spent 7 billion dollars! 🙄

I have an odd question:

Will MachineGames and id Software be forced to drop Vulkan for DX12 on PC going forward?

I hope they don't drop Vulkan because more often than not, Vulkan API has provided better results than DX12 in games that offer both APIs, in my experience.

I couldn't care less, I've got a PC and outside Elder Scrolls, I usually don't care about Bethesda games. I doubt the next Elder Scrolls will be console exclusive, game budget is too high, but if it was, I'd just play it on PC... I doubt it'll release this gen by the way.
