Halo.... on PC.
Somebody remind me what’s the point of Xbox Series X? To play 360 games in HDR I guess?
I have a PC but I can completely understand why people wouldn’t want one. First of all is cost. My PC cost ~£3,200 to build. not everyone wants to or can afford to spend that much. Also, before you say “you don’t need to spend that much!!” …true you can build cheaper systems but my PC has a weaker GPU than what is in the Series X so think about that.
also PC requires more set up. Windows updates, game updates, client updates, driver updates, bios updates, etc. consoles you only need to worry about OS + game updates. outside that you have in game settings you need to mess about with. some people love this and it’s a positive for them. for others it’s a hassle … they just wanna play. A few games I’ve bought and literally spent hours messing about with settings trying to get performance how I want it and I’m thinking fuck me I just wanna play the fucking game!!
also some games might be straight up broken and you need to install mods/unofficial patches or tweak config/ini files.
I know you can play most games now with a controller or pc but maybe someone just doesn’t like Kb/m. Also most people play on PC sitting at a desk which they might not find comfortable… yeah you can connect to a tv but that’s not always easy. my tv is in the same room as me but it’s be a hassle to play on it. some people might just like chilling on a sofa/bed to play.
and then there is the issue of having to fix things if they go wrong. if you decide to overclock you need to spend time getting that right. If it becomes unstable you need to troubleshoot that. Running stress tests is not something I enjoy. If a piece of hardware fails it can be a hassle to take apart/troubleshoot. For some it’s much easier if they can just take their system back to a retailer and get a replacement. Or phone up Sony/ms for help and get a replacement/fix. You don’t have anything like that for PC. for each component you have different warranties and likely bought from multiple retailers. you don’t get any customer support for the entire pc just that individual component. If something goes wrong you need to figure it out yourself or ask online.
I love my pc but again I can see why some would not want one. there’s nothing wrong with just getting an Xbox. I like the extra performance and better graphics so spending the extra time and money is worth it for me. Someone might not really care about that and just want to play the game with no hassle for as cheap as possible and if something goes wrong then they can get quick easy help.
