Bioware. Important company. Somewhat lost its way of late, but responsible for some of the definitive Western RPGs in gaming history.

These games are so numerous and so good, I wanna try and figure out a definitive ranking of NeoGAFs preferred Bioware titles.

I'll give everyone 4 votes, hopefully this will spread votes around a bit.

Edit: i forgot to edit the poll title, you each have FOUR VOTES

Note: I've tried to focus on their most successful RPG titles, so I'm not going to include anthem, or their more obscure games. No disrespect intended towards those titles~

RESULTS:

Well, for the record, it seems the GAF rankings for Bioware RPG titles are:

1 - Mass Effect 2

2 - Mass Effect

3 - KOTOR

4 - Baldur's Gate 2

I personally think a lot more weight aughta be given to the quality and breadth of stories and storytelling in Baldur's Gate 2, but it's not an unfair list. Thanks to all participants :)

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
I've picked KOTOR, DA:O and ME2.

Baldur's Gate are probably the best, but I didn't enjoy them as much as the others.

My 3 picks are-
Kotor
Mass Effect 2
Dragon Age Origins

These two are also really damn good.
Mass Effect 1
Jade Empire

I have only played Mass Effect and Dragon Age. Of those:

Dragon Age 1 and its DLC were by far the best.
I'm actually making this poll because Dragon Age is the one series I've barely touched, though I've owned Origins for a decade, and I'm wondering just how highly regarded it is after sufficient time has passed~

I really like the idea of it at the moment~

For now it is

Mass Effect 1 and 2
Dragon Age Origins

I have a feeling once I play Baldurs Gate 2 that will trump one of these.

If you get passed the unavoidably dated interface, which i gather the enhanced edition somewhat softens, you're in for a hugely rich and deep experience <3 took me a few rerolls before i was happy with my character, but i started trying when i was a young felluh..

The interface does not bother me. I enjoy those types of game and have already played a few. I started the original Baldurs Gate a few years ago and didn't realize there was permadeath until after a few hours in. I realized at that point I may need to follow a guide just to get started and comfortable. I usually play mages in RPG's but I have heard that may not be the best option in Baldurs Gate especially if your new to the series. Any tips on class or optimal stats to start?

Ah that's a hell of a geek appeal to receive at 2am, I'll have to pass on uploading my brain on that one for tonight..

Graphics were bad even when it released but it offers far more choice than any of their other recent games.

The differences between the PC version and the Xbox 360 version are interesting. They play quite differently, and even though the Xbox version has worse texture resolution and doesn't look as good, it's worth checking out if you do happen to have a 360 or Xbox One (it's backwards compatible).

No love for Jade Empire? One of my favourite OG Xbox games!

I started playing that on the OG Xbox when it came out, but then the system died and I never revisited it. I do have a physical PC copy somewhere, but my PC doesn't have an optical drive anymore. Oh, I just checked and it's four Euro on Steam? GET!

I went for BG, BG2 and KOTOR.

I also enjoyed NWN, Jade Empire, ME and ME2 though. Never could get into the Dragon Age games, nothing especially bad that I can pinpoint but just didn't click for me.

Mass Effect 1 & 2 + BG2. I'm not a fan of Star Wars so I'm not that into KOTOR, but they were still very good RPG's.

Maybe these bioware games have to be played on an overpowered pc a couple of years after release.

The ones ive played on console all felt like unplayable buggy mess.

2. Dragon Age: Inquisition
3. Dragon Age: Origins

I missed the boat on KOTOR and Baldur's Gate. Mass Effect is right behind Origins for me. I'm more of a sci-fi fan, honesty, but companions are probably the most important aspect of these games for me and Mass Effect 2 was such a step up from the original in that regard. Not that they weren't great in the first game but I definitely preferred the casts of these three games. The combat and the cookie cutter planets also hurt the first Mass Effect for me. But the plot and worldbuilding were definitely excellent and I'll never forget exploring the Citadel for the first time.

My votes;
1) Dragon Age: Origins
2) Mass Effect
3) Mass Effect 3

Honorable mentions:
Jade Empire,

Mass Effect 2 is not getting a vote from me. Too overrated.
