Don't care as long as there's an easy mode and it holds my hand from start to finish. Day one if they include kittens.

This is actually not true, multi-platforming means less optimization on every platform, so technically a game is worse off with more platforms.

You can see this demonstrated easily by just how bad quick-buck Console to PC ports are. Less effort in = technical mess.
I haven’t noticed any dip in quality for any of Miyazaki’s other works; DS, DS 3 and Sekiro. They’re all comparable to DeS and Bloodborne.

everyone who voted yes, please never call yourself a gamer ever again, and from now on refer to yourself as a cringe fanboy, thank you very much,

You're saying all exclusives are bad and are not important to consoles? Interesting.

Be fine by me. I have a problem with franchises which were once multiplatform going exclusive (spin-offs are one thing, and maybe a timed-exclusive window to "celebrate a fandom's loyalty", but I'm a PlayStation gamer and even I'm not super comfortable with FF XVI standing as a PS5 exclusive for now.) Opening up availability, though, that's fine (and I've been the beneficiary of it a few times.) There will always be another exclusive down the road for me to cling to as special just for me and my fancy lads in one little console pool.

Bloodborne is a Sony owned IP. Just like Nintendo's IPs. Just like Microsofts IPs. Should we expect them to suddenly be multiplatform and come to all other consoles? People who voted "yes" aren't gamers because they don't agree?
Exclusives are important to the consoles, I don't think they'd sell as many consoles if they lacked them.
There's nothing wrong with having exclusives. Some can be bad, like intentionally paying to keep it off other platforms especially when previous versions were multiplatform, but that's not the case with Bloodborne.

The point is that none of that is what the poster said. You've extrapolated all this.

How does bloodborne and demon souls come to be exclusive? Do Sony but the rights in early development or something?

Bloodborne should have been available on pc as well at least as I just don't believe the game would have affected playstation sales if it became available on pc a short while afterwards.

Think horizon zero dawn.

I read it as "exclusives bad" or maybe it is just "Bloodborne exclusivity bad"?

Sony owns Bloodborne, Demon's Souls and Horizon Zero Dawn. It's like Pokémon with Nintendo for the first two (I think Pokémon isn't made by Nintendo, but a 3rd party?). Edit: I am not sure if this Pokémon info is correct, they co-own the IP with Game Freak? :pie_thinking:

Horizon Zero Dawn came to PC years after release not when it was initially released. They may have sold just as many copies now as if they released it at launch on PC. So why release it on PC at launch? What is their advantage?

Id rather just have a PC port of BB1

Fromsoft souls sequels were shit, If BB came to PC I could trashbag sony platforms forever.

This polls with a reasoning beside the answer, why even? they read so condescending. The question is asking for yes or no, yet most poster feel the need to add some stupid explanation beside the option as if forcing anyone voting to take that very specific stance instead of polling the answers to the question.

Sony owns Demon's Souls and Bloodborne.

So did Sony ask from software to make it for them as gave them the idea or something like give them money to make a game as long as they own the rights?

I'm honestly completely unsure as to how the situation is?

One of Sony's teams and From Software made DS and BB.

I have no loyalty to any of those corporations, don’t own stock in any of them, own all consoles and couldn’t give a shit less whether a game I want to play is exclusive or multiplatform.

Is there anyway to find more information on how these two came to be as I am really interested in exactly how.

Seems like an impending purchase from Sony to be a first party studio if they're such close working organisations.

From wasn't owned by Kadokawa until around 2014.
I am guessing that before they were acquired they were more open to working with different companies.
They worked with Sega as well.

Sony own the Bloodborne IP like Demon's Souls, but if Bloodborne 2 for some reason was a multiplatform game, i dont see any reason not to enjoy the game.
As someone that owns a PS5 i would like the game to be developed to take full adavantage of the PS5 hardware, after thats done, they could release ports to any other platform i would be perfectly fine with that.

Xbox fans if you really want Bloodborne that much just buy a PlayStation. That's the only way you're getting your hands on it. "PCMR" too.

Where is the Bloodborne pro patch? We've seen older games with less users get pro patches.
Remaster is likely coming alongside a PC port.
🤷‍♂️
Be nice if we got a FREE PS5 patch alongside a PC version but I don't know if Sony is doing this for the gamers.

It's painful playing it at a juddering 22 to 30 fps, or juddering 28 to 30 fps on PS4 pro tbh

I didn't mind at first cause I played ds1 on PC @ 30 even with dsfix, but my tolerances have waned overtime.

I don't think it will ever come to PC cause it would require server overhead and Sony is cheap, but an emulator some day in the future would be heavenly, we could even get enhancements and an fps boost thanks to lance mcdonald or whoever lol

Oh well.

Not gonna happen. If they make a remaster it would not be free. Only thing they could do and should do for free, is unlock the framerate and let PS5 players play at 60 fps using the BC. That would automatic fix the framepacing issues that are still present on Bloodborne.

Yes, I would care. It must be PS5 only. Not available on lesser platforms.

In fact, the disc version should come with a special boot sector executable that when inserted into an Xbox One, Xbox One X, or Xbox Series X, it will brick it. Also, it will upload a virus onto your Xbox Live account so that any other Xbox you buy also gets bricked. And it resets your gamer score to 0.

If you put the disc into a PC drive, that'll get bricked too. Especially if you have one of those fancy pants RTX 3080 thingies.

If you put the disc into a Nintendo Switch (using a USB-C Blu Ray drive or whatever), it deletes your Zelda saves, and makes everyone in Animal Crossing community hate you.

Finally, if you put it into a PS4, it automagically upgrades it to a PS5, and sends an Aloy cosplayer around to your house to cheer you on during boss battles.

Yep, that's the kind of PS5 exclusive it should be.

Man, even Variable refresh rate on BC titles for ps5 would be a system seller for me, as sad as that sounds lmao

Id never buy a remaster on the PS ecosystem, a pc port would be a maybe, depends what is changed if there is change, and the quality of the port.

it's criminal bloodborne is not playable at 60 fps and those nasty frame pacing issues is still there, i would complain to sony to first fix it because ps5 is more that capable of running it at 60 and this comes from a pc gamer.

Well ya, ds3 runs @ 60 on ps5 so of course BB could do it.

Just gimme. I don't care what game from which platform goes to everything. Only fanboys care.

Really? Patched or unpatched? It's 30 on Xbox. The digital version at least. Gonna have to rebuy it on Playstation if true!
