How do you guys deal with the enemies that dodge bullets Matrix style? Is there a specific hack to shut them down?

I've just been knocking them down with grenades then unloading into their head with my buffed-up hand cannon crits, but having to maintain a good supply of grenades just in case is getting expensive / time consuming.

If you're netrunner focused or have a decent amt invested in that tree, you can hack em. Cripple Movement will flat out stop them in place for a free kill, if using early game hacks. If you have late game hacks then just outright throw something like Synapse Burnout at them and call it a day.

Otherwise, yeah, grenades...

It gets a LOT easier when facing these guys if you have a Smart weapon (and the required Hand module of course) coz then the bullets just auto aim at them.

If in early game, another option is pick up the Kongou when in Yorinobu's apartment (easy to miss!). This game will let you richochet bullets WITHOUT having the required modules... but you still will need the Optics mod to see the trajectory paths.

Otherwise... you're already doing the only thing you can do. Their super speed is basically the 'time slow' OS modules. These are available to buy after Act 1 from certain ripperdocs (explore the city, go to every single one, they all sell different kit). You can beat them at their own game. It literally is Jotaro vs Dio... whoever can slow time the longest wins, no joke. If you're a melee brawler build you can VERY LITERALLY slow time, then go ORAORAORAORAORA MUDAMUDAMUDAMUDA on their asses, its fucking awesome.

Good to hear. I might have jumped the gun shitting on the skill system. Doing a focussed handgun and knife build and the section right after the prologue gave me a little insight into what that will be like.

Yeah, IMO giving people absolute freedom to build isn't always a good idea, the game should have some 'basic class templates' for those incapable of independent thought (a majority of players) and allow 'Custom' for those who actually are capable of independent thought. Today's entitled boomer gamers are completely incapable of enjoying a game unless they have their hands held and peepees touched the entire way... along with most game "journalists".

Not talking about you, of course, just generally speaking here.

God gorilla arms are ridiculous. I'm just beating the hell out of everyone. And I just ripped the gun from a turret for the first time - guys were just exploding and body parts going everywhere. I love this game.

Already thinking about how to make a corpo cyber hacker/sword build on my next playthrough.

That's my build, corpo cyber hacker/blade user. Protip its best to perk reset into this than try to do it from the start coz anything netrunner/hacker related requires very significant investment, most of the cool hacks are CRAFTED. You need to unlock the blueprints in the skill tree to let you do this. If you try to do it clean on a fresh run you're going to have a very painful time... especially since extreme netrunner focus requires VERY EGG$$$PEN$$$IVE chrome work done too. You absolutely NEED at least an Epic tier OS module, and that can cost very close to 6 digits in the eddies.

So yeah, don't try it from the start IMO, but go ahead if you really want to. Its just a LOT less painful and more fun if you just perk reset and re-build when you have a lot of money.

Not sure you're a member, but ResetEra is another great spot to discuss Cyberpunk ...

Sure, I'll gladly go there, make a burner account and get banned on my first post after I talk about how the game is a wet dream come true being able to tell "ma'ams" to literally kill themselves with the Suicide quickhack. Problem fukken solved in game form that I wish I could do IRL :D

Been going to all the gun shops I can find in the city on a personal quest to find either an epic or legendary Satara or Achilles...loving these weapons. Also, double jump, 💛 really opened up the game even more.

ETA: what are y'alls go to / fave weapons (or hacks or whatever)?

I was using katana, but mantis blades are THE absolute fucking jam when you can get them, esp if you mod them to have about 5 attacks per sec speed.

Fav quickhacks: Contagion, Synapse Burnout, Suicide, System Reset, Cyberpsychosis

Are submachine guns considered "light machine guns"? I got the upgrade perk that increased reload speed for shotguns and "light machine guns," but not sure if that applies to subs.
Took me forever to find a decent sub machine to make my build worthwhile. I finally got one and no longer rely on my handgun for max damage.

I was regretting not building into handguns but not anymore. The loot timetable is interesting. Not sure if I think there should be more frequent loot drops or not. I am kind of liking the pacing of current loot but wish I got more frequent materials for upgrades.

I am really enjoying pistols/shotguns but have not quite narrowed down specifically which types. I did get a tech precision rifle and that gun is at the moment my favorite in the game. So much so it made me start putting points into that tree. Hold to charge and it shoots like a sniper rifle, or quick press it shoots like a stormtrooper blaster.

The sniper I got from Panam is legit. I am looking to upgrade that next.

I rock Sub machine gun, pistol and sniper. Helps Cover all ranges. I normally play range with the sniper which is my favorite and then switch to the sub when they push up for cqc.

I had a very similar precision rifle, if not the exact same. I used it forever until I got my most recent sniper. Even though my new sniper is stronger that precision rifle was more fun to use.

Anyone else feels that Lens Flare are too exaggerated? I usually like this effect in most games I play, but in CP I had to turn it off.
I really like the near constant, exaggerated lens flares!

They create a style-lock on this game that makes it own the effect - like the way "The Matrix" locked down bullet-time👍

Gonna also mention... its a shame that driving is practically impossible in first person coz the CAR INTERIORS are god damn nice! They actually put some effort into rendering the insides of these cars. Its HELLA cool when you sit inside a car that you 100% cannot see into, like the Caliburn... then have the windshield and windows magically become see through when you turn it on.

If only there were a way to have both 1st person AND 3rd person driving views at the same time so you can enjoy the best of both worlds...

Really enjoying the game a lot more now that I have a smart weapon in hand. One hit kills all day! Only managed to find this one weapon so far that is smart. Still early game (gotta see Dexter in Afterlife).

I'm playing on PC with an RTX 3080, and it looks glorious (most of the time). BUT, it's buggy AF (had a main quest not even trigger/bugged), and I'm constantly annoyed by the D-Pad icons in the bottom left that look like you need to hit UP to activate all of them. WHY is there a little frickin' arrow above each icon? WHY? So. Bloody. Stupid.

I'm enjoying the game, but it needed another 3-6 months in the oven, it's hilariously obvious.

It feels out of place sometimes. Like when I was in the back of
Dex's darkened limo
at night and for some reason lens flare was so bright and prevalent I had a difficult time seeing his face.

I am trying to do it, but I think it takes a bit of time to go off the path and start upgrqading outside the main story. My fear is that the main story will eventually supply me with waht i am getting slowly in a rather expeditious fashion. But I am ok goign slow. One fo the Regina quests had me find a vendor where there are tonnes of cyber cards and although I had to use one of the glitches to earn enough quick cash I cleaned her out of just about everything for around 20k. i havent foudn a place to use the tech yet but to answer your question I totally think its viable and I want to do it for my first paythrough not a subsequent one and get spoiled.
IN corpo and Nomad you get a serviceable car for free, maybe you are a street kid?
I really dont want to spoil myself on your guys sniper rifle, but I will keep my eye out for it.....its obviously not the same one I found early, how does it compare to this one I found in Viktor's ripperdoc workshoop on the rooftop?

I just grabbed the sniper rifle you’re referring to. Can’t wait to reach a high enough level to be able to equip it. Thanks!

So, this is unplayable on PS4Pro/X1X too, right? By what I’ve seen on Reddit, people is asking for refunds.

I can imagine. I must say though, just looking at the game years before, I think it was kind of obvious it would struggle hard in consoles? I’m actually surprised it was not canceled as soon as the new consoles were unveiled.

How did you get the double jump?

Ripper doc. It was pretty expensive, 1000% worth it, was after I'd done a bunch of SQ's & loot whoring XD
Not sure if they all sell diff things, but it wasn't Vik, it was from a shady young dude w/ a surgeon's cap.

Snipers def sound fun; have really only messed around a bit w/ one early today, but it was one that had been in my bag for ages & had poor dmg. Did like the way it felt shooting tho!

I love the aesthetics of the game and the combat, its just so a shame that it feels like game its going to brake at any moment. (driving in the highway in first person and looking trough the side window to the city its pretty amazing)
Also, i would so love that combat and exploration where in third person while driven was optimized for first person, but it is what it is, forced to use my imagination on how my character looks like when fighting.

I hope they patch the shit out of the game so i can come back for a second playthrough in the future, im playing a melee build with a bat and pistol as a non lethal revolver as side weapon, never had nearly as much fun with witchers combat. This is so much better than witcher 3 design wise in everything, quite the achievement.

I wanted to play it on PS4 but since it runs like shit im just playing it on PC, luckly, the DS4 support its on point, they have a weird cursor like thing going on but most of the time you do away with using the dpad through menus.

I ended up turning all my settings which were on Ultra to High and put DLSS on "ultra performance" nice FPS bump for certain. Had already taken out that garbo film grain and motion blur, ditched chromatic abberation too. Ray Tracing on Medium

I think I'll stick with this

Pretty much the exact same thing for me except no Dlss, running a 5700xt, and I kept the film grain on. Not sure why but something about it tickles the brain.

I try different setting a from time to time but always come back to these.

Been having a blast doing the early missions. This game already looks and runs incredible on High settings (no RTX) and 1440p (dynamic resolution floor of 75%) with my current rig, I'm trying not to play too much until my new PC arrives next week so I can run it at Ultra + RTX 1440p.

I think I might prefer it off

Man this game is just the bee's knees. Looks beautiful, want to share pictures soon. The side quests, set-ups, locales they bring you to. So cool.
I finally decided to spec a Corpo hire who has one foot in the new world and one in the old.
Just a powerful Revolver, athletic, crafting handyman who can beat the shit out of people when I need to.

So I just discovered something pretty big for Crafting. Apparently you can craft higher tiered weapons from quest items.

For example I got the Overwatch sniper(blue) from a quest but now I have a schematic that will let me create a new version of that sniper which comes out as Purple rarity. I would not be able to craft this weapon unless I specifically had that quest item.... my mind is blown.

I just got that sniper rifle too, and holy shit! I'm playing on Hard and it one shots so many enemies.

Got about 35 hours in right now and loving it. I haven't progressed too much in the main quest so far because the sidequests are eating up my time, lol. All of the sidequests are pretty interesting and I like a lot of the characters that keep showing up. It's really a lot like the Witcher 3 in that regard. Just finished Panam's quest line and I'm working on a few other chars now.

I'm running a crafting/hacking build so I've been running collecting recipes to build my own shit which has been pretty nice though daunting since the recipes are all over the damn city. I do wish you could read some books and learn them. There might be some instances but I haven't run into it yet.

So I decided to try this game streaming on Geforce Now cause I saw it has RT enable option and I thought since I can't get my hands on a new graphics card anytime soon this might be an ok alternative to my current setup.

And the verdict is: I should have flushed the money down the toilet. It looks and runs like dogshit. The resolution is like last gen console level or even worse honestly because of the streaming loss; it's laggy and the RT is barely noticeable even on max settings. Don't bother with that shit. A nice clean image and responsiveness are far far better than some accurate reflections.

the story is actually good. i’m used to western rpgs having just people standing and looking at you delivering lines very monotone and being very uninterested but the first act has me much more intrigued than i was expecting.

the map is overwhelming as fuck though. jesus fucking christ, simplify that shit. way too many icons. like fuck off.

also it’s crashed like 6 times now on ps5 which is too many times for like 8 hours of play, fuck off again

but also it is great

Playing on PS4 and having a hard time getting into the game. I just finished the Evelyn mission so super early. Something just feels off with the aiming and I don't have a handle on all the hacking stuff yet.

City is also pretty empty and not much seems to be happening.

Can I not go to "downtown". Tried to drive to a part of the city and kept getting teleported out of there.

I guess I have to power up more and get used to the game to really get a hang of it. Something just feels "off" about it to me.

Let me guess, they scrapped the fat NPCs in their little scooters... Bummer if so, they looked hilarious. I've played the game for 12 hours now and I haven't seen a single one unless they're in another part of the map? I'm still in the starter area.
