When do you think the full version (single player + multiplayer) of Halo Infinite will be released?

The latest rumor...

"The game is more or less content complete. They can fully focus on the technical aspects now. I absolutely do expect Halo Infinite to be released 2021."

Typically I would bet that either next gen console sales will tank in which case they'll rush it out by Spring to hit the March/April window, or they'll wait to release it late fall for another holiday hardware push.

On the other hand, the pandemic leaving so many people home bound seems like it has dramatically altered shopping and entertainment behavior for consumers so they might just put it out in the middle of the summer and it wouldn't shock me.

I think at this point they've accepted the losses from the delay and now probably more focused on making sure it's really well received to avoid another MCC fiasco, so I doubt they'll release it in full before mid 2021 based on the state of what we've seen so far.

With changes in the higher ups that we heard in the past weeks (forgot who it was exactly), I don't imagine the game would be released soon. It's also unlikely that they would change the game upside down this far into the development so I'm guessing Summer 2021.

Voted OCT, I doubt this thing is anything but late next year. Why release earlier? You've already pissed off Halo fans and potential launch buyers. It no longer matters how long the wait is. Only the quality of the game upon release matters now, don't miss Chief.

I think February.

From what has been said the game is done, it's content complete they're just working on technical aspects of the title and ensuring it's in basically perfect condition for launch.

Why release earlier?

I think that answer is obvious. The XBox Series X/S is starting the generation with a game drought.

Microsoft doesn't want the public viewing XBox as blatantly inferior to PlayStation. Halo Infinite would help with that perception immensely.

I have a tough time predicting either. Whether it’s a visual overhaul, or the project really is in trouble (see bringing in Bungie vets; departures), I think it’s going to take time, in any scenario, to get the game to where it needs to be.

I’m not super confident about 2021, but I could see it landing in November.

As a side note, I just rewatched that trailer. The game is in such an interesting place. It’s visually underwhelming, but I wouldn’t say it’s bad, which is where the perception seemed to land.

That gameplay reveal leaved a whole lot to be desired, so my bet is November 2021.

Multiplats are fine but man, not having this game on release must have hurt console sales.

I'm hoping September, so that they have lots of time for polish. I've never been a Halo fan but I'm willing to try so long as they thoroughly de-Craig it.

I think we'll see Starfield as a surprise summer blockbuster.

I'm honestly not sure. After watching the gameplay demo, I really think they might have gone back to the drawing board a lot and it will take more time than they'd hope. I predict it will be in late 2021. October or November.

I'd hope they take that much time anyways, I really like Halo and after Halo 5 they really need a slam dunk here.

November 2021

November is Halo Month. Microsoft Make their most sales during Holidays and another year gives them chance to produce as many Xbox's as possible, to get more fans on to the platform before they drop Halo

It will be November 2021 unless they are doing the split MP/SP release. In that case, I could see the MP coming out in the summer.

Well. The correct answer is when they have a lot of consoles available, just after stock has been low for a long time, and when Sony has nothing and/or Ratchet as their only game during a drought.

It's so strange it was just about to be released in a few weeks/months before it got delayed. Now, it's anyone's guess when we will even hear about a new release date.

Did they really not know it was in such bad shape until they showed the game to the community?

Either September or November 2021 but imo it's clear the project has been in a serious development hell and when that happens usually the best result developers can get is to try to save it from being a total disaster but it's unlikely the game will meet expectations no matter what. They would simply need to scrap the current project and make a more ambitious game just for XSX and XSS with a more focused and well managed team.

If it were coming in a couple months, I feel like we’d have a release date now. Instead, 343i is saying things like “We’re working with the team to provide an end of year update and establish plans to be much more communicative in the coming months.” Note: months, plural.

So I say November 2021 at the earliest. I don’t think 2022 is out of the question either.

well so far it hasn’t. Every single console made available sells out immediately, but if they don’t start having some compelling software early next year, I think that’s when it will start to hurt them.

I'll say June, since first 3 months will be for Medium, Psychonauts, and etc and Starfield as surprise holiday release.
