Anyway, it will be me that I am very maniacal, all my GPUs I modify the curve so that above 72º it begins to rise until it is 100% at 77º and normally they are usually at 63º-67º in summer, although it looks like an airport. Better noise than broken, but in this way I have not broken any and I will not trust any product that has those temps. Even if it is built by Elon Musk himself

I was referring to max temps during next-gen games with the 85 comment. It is reported that PS4 Pro hits 85 in the most demanding games of the gen GoW etc.

I try to keep my temps lower as well. But device manufactures will prioritize noise over temperature like current GPUs do with the ridiculous default fan curves or how the PS4 Pro did with the revision.

The new RTX 3070, that Nvidia claims is same as 2080 Ti performance, has the same 448 GB/s bandwidth over 256 bit bus, same 14 Gb/s GDDR6.

No one seems to be worried about that card's performance. I doubt Sony or Nvidia would choose 448 GB/s bandwidth if it was going to be an issue.

Can you stop spreading fud. I have been watching you these last few weeks saying Ps5 is going to melt and cause global warming. I am sick of it.

Please just stick to facts, ps5 running temp is around 3 degrees Celsius, this was after 10 hours of Demon souls carnage and said ps5 console was sitting on top of the new xboxs vent too, while it was in idle at 62 degrees.

Ps5 has to share that bandwidth with the cpu. The 3070 doesn't.

Probably a good idea with all the limited stock around too, i doubt that will be cleared up till next year, at least on the ps5 side of things, no idea how xbox is doing in regards to that.

Thery is also Daedalic Entertainment for Gollum game (I think it's LotR book license) and there is Leyou with rights for MMO that they'll be making with Amazon (which has rights for TV series, but didn't had one for games). It just shows that you can have many Middle-Earth games from different publishers a

Yeah, I know? That's exactly why I'm agreeing that 1440p can easily be more than enough, and native 4k is basically a waste of resources.

Someone claimed that you need native 4k resolution if you have a TV bigger than 55".

I have 55" and while UE5 demo looks impressive it has less-than-4K softness, pretty visible to me. But it's the best gameplay footage graphic-wise on planet earth so far.

It is not that simple, it depends on the caches, a higher clock makes the caches work better.

The PS5's cache is possibly bigger than the SX's and with the cache correctors it will possibly get more hits which could need a lot less than the bandwidth competition. And the most important thing remains, the SX would have 16 CU per Shader Array sharing caches between them compared to the 9 CU array in PS5 definitely PS5 will have a higher HIT in any case.

That would explain the UI that is capable of putting your friend's shared screen, or the game guides included in the PS + UI.

Until the 28th we will not know anything, but we are going 16 CU for ShaderArray vs 9 CU for ShaderArray we can assume that there will be more hits on PS5 with total security.

And then there would be the problem of having to deal with mid-game system interruptions from devs and see how to handle that. It is not easy to do this and it usually causes problems for devs they do not like that for sure.

XSX has 4 shader arrays, 14 CUs per shader array. 4x14=56. 52 active and 2 DCUs disabled.
PS5 has 4 shader arrays, 10 CUs per shader array. 4x10=40. 36 active and 2 DCUs disabled.

Yeah just going by what Wikipedia claims in a couple of places (that WB owns video game rights.)

Could have expired too.. these things aren't always public knowledge.
 
62º is toasty. MS really messed up when they didn't consider the various set ups people have. How am I meant to use my Series X as a stool when it will be shooting temperatures I can boil green tea with up my ass?

cpu uses little bandwidth, and 3070 gpu specs are greater than ps5 requiring even more bandwidth then ps5's gpu.
Cpu is going to require more and more bandwidth next gen as games finally start utilizing the cpu after gens of stagnation. You will see richer worlds, more interactivity, more realistic a.i, more destruction. All of that is going to require dedicated ram bandwidth. The system ram in kzsf was talking up 1.5 gb. That's over 30%.

Desktops can easily run this on the slower ddr system ram but consoles don't have that luxury.

I understand that in RDNA2 you can deactivate only one RDNA2CU of a DCU, which was not possible in RDNA1. PS5 would adopt a symmetric configuration of 4 Shaders Array of 9 CU.

I don't remember where I read that they wanted to give the CU flexibility and to be able to put more than 10 per shader array or to be able to deactivate 1 in 1. But I read it a long time ago.

Console CPU and GPU can also share the same data, cant do that so easy in a PC, so its swings and roundabouts.

Anyway, its not an issue as the 80 CU Big Navi has a 256 bit bus, AMD been working on compression and infinity cache, so memory bandwidth will no longer be a defining factor of comparison.

Things are changing. Cache is minimum 6 x faster that RAM, its measured in TF/s not GB/s. If you can have more data in cache and work with it than RAM, well there it is.

Its AMD secret sauce of this gen. I just hope consoles get some.

Well Xbox showed at hot chips in their GPU they disabled 2 DCUs, 1 per shader engine.

So the XSX GPU has 4 shader arrays, 2 per shader engine.
1 - 7 active DCUs
2 - 6 active DCUs
3 - 7 active DCUs
4 - 6 active DCUs

I assume PS5 is same 5,4,5,4 active DCUs per SA.
