Which is dumb. Its a dynamic resolution. It could get boosted on PS5. We don't know yet. They're just guessing/lying.

1800p is the upper limit for the Playstation code, most things remain unchanged with the retro-compatibility. This is no "guessing", if the game is not patched to allow a higher resolution (or anything else) when running on the PS5 than it'll run at the same resolution as the PS4 on Legacy Mode and at the same resolution as the PS4Pro on Pro Legacy Mode.

Now Digital Foundry is "clickbait", that that all those channels pulling feces stained "leaks" out of their asses are not, wow.

Yes, MS and Sony will test the game to run in XSX/PS5 clocks, and dynamic resolution will output 4k for both.

If Sony didn't already test the game, i guess PS4 Pro Legacy mode in PS5 will run at 1800p.

If MS didn't already test the game, i guess XSX will not run the game because they don't have variable clocks to simulate XoneX.
 
I believe that few AAA games do not use the fast 10 GB for graphics, which will leave the CPU RAM of the system + RAM of the game at 6Gb which will require continuous accesses and therefore a drop in the average bandwidth.

From what I have read of some leaks, normally the accesses to the system + game are usually 56 GB / s on average. However, SX would be penalized twice by the blocking of the channels, actually subtracting 112 GB / s.

Leaving an average of 448 GB / s. That matches the above.

PS5 would get 448 GB / s -56 GB / s with 392 GB / s left. However I would have 36 CU to feed versus 52CU and only 9 CU per ShaderArray instead of 16/14 CU per Shader Array.

The SX architecture is unnecessarily complex, they should have put 20 GB and 6 Shaders array even if it came out at 599 I think it would have been a very well focused console.

If i understand correctly, the fact is, in a 2GB module (1GB CPU and other 1GB for GPU), i can't access data from both at the same time, even with 2 channels 16bits each. When i need some data in 1GB memory for CPU, the entire module is momentanely blocked for 1GB GPU and vice versa.

Or if i can access CPU and GPU data at the same time in a module, 16 bit channel for GPU and other 16 bit channel for CPU, why they have 2 channels 16 bits each for each 1GB module dedicated for GPU?

Wait a second. BF5 is already out....so this is just talking about how it runs in backwards compatibility mode, isn't it? So BF5 runs on PS5 the same way it runs on PS4 Pro.... I don't get the hoopla. We kinda already know that's how BC works on the PS5.

i love love battlefield 1, but bfv is one of the worst shooters ive played this gen. i dont play sp, so im talking about mp only but while everyone was getting outraged over female soldiers, no one bothered to look at how completely they fucked up the gameplay. they tried to appease the hardcore bf audience by nerfing guns and completely took the fun out of the game. all in the name of realism. it's the least fun shooter ive played and i say this as someone whose first experience with online games was socom. socom was brutal and punishing but still fun to shoot. there is nothing fun about BFV mp.

PS5 has more flexible Ram, more bandwidth and the PS5 is easy just the much better console. How many Devs have said that so far? We saw the Unreal Gameplay Demo on PS5 with about 800 million Polygon per Frame. Not possible on XSX

What is being speculated is the amount of bandwidth the CPU will eat, but the idea that the CPU accessing the RAM on XSX will reduce its bandwidth is a fact.

It does it on both consoles, but the issue on the XSX is the effect on the overall bandwidth if CPU and/or GPU need to read from the lower bandwidth pool/section and the impact of that (will devs start to copy data back and forth between areas on memory to improve access speed?).

In that case bandwidth per TF would be a little higher on PS5.

How about we should get free loading screen music along with the games, since we won't be able to listen to that anymore now? But I do know at least one person saying he was a bit let down by the fact he couldn't read tips during the loading screens, but hey, you cannot have it all now.

I don't know which developer it was but they said they allow the player to turn on those tip screens if they wanted them.

It'd be cool if more games could build in music players into the stories of games, so a player could listen to music as they run around the world. Like if Spider-Man could have music playing while swinging around or whatever. I think MGS did something like that. The moments when Low Roar played during Death Stranding were so cool. Tips will have to just be a menu now I guess.
