While I like the capability of a vaccumable dust catcher one has to wonder why go thru the effort of including one to begin with.
Maybe, because most (if not all) consoles and PC suffer from this simple fact - dust.

Seems like the cooling solution is susceptible to dust and might impede its performance. The average casual consumer might not know what to do when it inevitably gets clogged.
And now Sony is limiting their liability via a fine print:
They actually used the words "HARDWARE CLOGGING FROM DUST".
They only understand FUDish. What on earth are you and that guy on about?
Sony have said literally nothing about dust affecting the hardware guarantee / warranty.
They just said the dust catchers aren't guaranteed to catch all dust. Which makes perfect sense.
Can you people not understand English or something?

I don’t see all this innovative design that some are seeing. It is a rather safe design to be honest. However, seeing liquid metal being used in the cooling system is pretty cool, specially when you think this is a “budget” electronic.
Seems like reality hurts.No. Stop beind so defensive. Nobody killed your cat brother.
Liquid metal paste is readily available if you need to replace it.I hope that a normal thermal paste is a good replacement (no reasonfor it not to be imo, but Im no expert), because its going to be hard making repairs.
They have a 2TB model too. That's never enough. I need more power...more space...in my PS5. The bigger the better....so she.
No need to get all defensive. It's something to discuss and speculate given the choice of words. It may not be a thing. It might. Like I said its a nice feature to have a vaccumable dust catcher. But there's nothing wrong with speculating of to why it's inclusion given their fine print. Thats all.
Bullshit. There's nothing innovative about it. It is just a PC tower design, except you can build a PC smaller than this with better specs as well. Really scratching my head at what Sony was thinking here.
One thing is for sure, they will be expensive to make, sold at a loss, and offset with software prices. And there will be supply issues.
Jesus. That size may turn off anyone but the most hardcore.
Bullshit.
Show me a PS5/XSX equivalent PC on a $500 budget complete with keyboard, mouse, Windows 10, 500GB 4k Bluray, SSD with at least 3GB/s speed with the same size, power consumption and average temps.
Xbros are. But then again, they are fanboys so its expected.Mate, I've got a TV the size of a house on my wall. My stupid fucking PC tower is enormous. I have an air purifier that's the size of a fat dalek.
Nobody is getting put off by the size of the Ps5.
Innovative heat sink, blah! Liquid metal, humph! Large super fan, grhh!I don’t see all this innovative design that some are seeing. It is a rather safe design to be honest. Now you get what’s Sony/MS is thinking.I didn't say anything about price. Of course it will be more expensive to build.
There is no pressure differential to get excited about generated by an axial fan, its called a low pressure fan for a reason and performs better in a more open environment.
Ps5 fan is essentially a blower with dual intake.
Take from that what you will.

Uh you big boy now? You feelin big? Bigger? Bigly? No, i have a white ps5 in preorder.
exactly what Sony did at the start of this gen with game sharing vid
Now you get what’s Sony/MS is thinking.
Price.
Price that the average consumer is willing to buy.
You’re irrelevant.Irrelevant to what I said.
To the contrary, I think everyone is amazed at how high quality, solid and relatively expensive everything looks inside a machine that is retailing for 500 dollars.Looks and sounds like it has a distinctly cheap and brittle feel to it when taken apart. Won't matter if you're extremely careful with it I guess.
Yes.Big console or very small man?
the video itself even says "RDNA2 Based" which suggests its not full RDNA2, which is as expected

Those drives get hot as fuck though... Melt right through that plastic?
Thing is fucking huge. Almost embarrassingly so. It’s almost the size of an old beige desktop. Really not looking forward to having to deal with that.
Liquid metal paste is readily available if you need to replace it.
Reported for murder. Why? Who has more expertise... Sony, the people who invented portable music and are at the cutting edge of electronics advancements for the last 100 years or a few journalists with no engineering qualifications using MS paint to count pixels?
