Cutscene vs what all of the gameplay looked like is more accurate.
Oh and the best part is that this will change nextgen, when all those Xbox studio games will come only to Xbox like the next elder scrolls, fallout and doom and many many more. It’s going to be insane.

Its very interesting because PS Vita has some sort of 3D TSV memory <-> SOC connection type.
Memory chip (VRAM) is lay on (placed on) SoC processor and bus is wider (but low frequency) = low power consumption, bigger bandwith.

Seems you did not read any article at all about Sony´s event, the headlines were concise enough. You would have known that, right after the first paragraph. They even mentioned how warm the PS5 got (according to them).
Nobody mentioned once horizon 4K the past 48h or right after the Japanese event. So, no idea what´s with the tangent and or what "spreading nonsense about your competitor" has anything got to do with your initial inquiry (which was based on a wrong assumption).

Well you're right I didnt read the articles but the twitter posts of people who were quoted in this thread, which made it sound like the actual console was running at 30° (they literally said the playstation is running at 30°).
Yes people were arguing about Horizon being 4K native yesterday. Its the whole reason I made the post.
The "spreading nonsense" part is independent from the initial inquiry which is quite obvious when reading the post.

I dont think you get my point. I was not believing them (obviously, otherwise I would not have asked the question about it to begin with), but people in here were quoting them as truths. Yes apparently some knew that they meant the room temp, but there were also some who flat out believed the misguided quotes. Especially those who actually quoted those out of context tweets to make people believe whats in it. Thats the whole point of my post.

This is a dumb take. What is your basis for any of this? Halo was the launch blockbuster but it caught a delay. Gears Tactics is a console launch title as well.

But i can relate, it's like the beginning of this year with Sony also being silent while MS was showing their console and quick resume everywere. I felt alone and cheated! where is my PS5 news Sony? i am knee deep in the Ps4 ecosystem and was 100pct planning on taking my games with me to PS5. Then a couple of months later they showed games and console and it was glorious. For a while xbox was nowere to be seen and all the talk was about PS5. It stayed like that until ms brilliantly decided to give every youtuber some time with the system. Plus they can only talk about quick resume, loadtimes and BC trough gamepass. We are so hungry that we swallow it up like warm buns. and is brilliant because in a couple of week some next NDA date may pass and they can tell us about the OS itselfs and other features. In the end of this year every youtuber has about 10 video's up about the thing and it only costed MS 499 dollar + expense per youtuber. This is some next level marketing right there. Even i am think about buying that series s to go with my ps5 @ launch. And thats just to be part of that exposure and play some game i missed this last generation. I have zero interest in series X/S exclusives (there are none) and still they are succeeding in letting me buy their system. bravo... last gen i had no interrest at all in xboxone and now the next gen did not even start and i am more engaged allready... all because of Sony's silence!
Dispite out agony about the silence and drip feeding about PS5 news this might be another planned move. Nothing is showing/telling Sony that they are doing something wrong. Pre-orders flew out the door, and they expect to sell more PS5's in the first year than PS4's. So I wouldn't expect a big change, I'm also wondering what they still have to show? Just UI and OS stuff? Because they have shown enough of the games itself.
Difference with Microsoft is that they highlight every feature the console has in detail. I think that's great. And Sony should take note, because when they do present the OS and UI, new smaller stuff will probably be overshadowed by bigger stuff even though it's important. While knowing everything about the whole system is what makes it fun for people that are hyped and real fans.

Cerny won't stand a chance. There is no worse deaf than he who does not want to hear. Cerny said it all in plain english back in March. If they want to listen to him they can still fetch his conference from youtube: it's free and he says it all.
What I am amezed by is that they have all played just BC. This "heat-gate" is all based on idle, UI and BC. I wonder how it's gonna play once next-gen is run.
In Japan Sony let people play Godfall, which is next-gen, so at least we have some sort of a baseline from that camp.
It's the only move MS has got: either this or risk to not be relevant. They have to invade every silent space that Sony "gives" them. Problem for them is that Sony is actually giving us what we wanted to see (apart from the UI or the teardown, but the big public doesn't really care about those things). It's all about the games, and from MS camp there appears to be next to no games, other than the multiplats.

I really hope that is not happening though. It did, with those specific units, otherwise people wouldn't run around with this in the public space, but I think it will be identified and dealt with. Xbox players deserve to have fun with their console, as that thing doesn't come cheap at all.
So if this is really a thing now, Microsoft should get their head out of their bunghole and fix this.
Now I noticed your edit, don't mind O Orky , he thinks it's ok for a console to run as hot as a microwave oven. It's not.

So far there was
1) A tweet from someone with a picture of an overheat warning claiming it was from their Xsex after 2 hours of use.
2) Giant bomb said the SSD was “super hot” and that the “whole unit is a little toasty”
3) A french Twitch vid saying theirs was “hot” - “it’s violent”

It's quite strange that even in standby it runs really hot. Stand-by means it's really in very low power consumption, even if it is downloading something in the background. My Pro barely was warm in stand-by mode downloading something and in the same time charging gamepad.

It's a stand-by mode. Device shouldn't be hot in stand-by mode even if it is doing some tasks in the background.

I can imagine a scenario where BC may be more taxing on the silicon than a “proper” next generation game.
It’s similar to the situation where sometimes going to a 2D screen while playing a game makes a current gen console go crazy - the work load is just right to “fill up” the processing capacity and consume a lot of power.
Like running a simple 2D game at an uncapped framerate can make a powerful system consume a lot of power.
My understanding is that Xsex does its BC running in a virtual environment on the hardware. If that environment has some issues it may be over stressing the system more than a native next gen game would.

I'm sorry, I don't trust a random guys translation of a french video. Words often get mistranslated, especially if they are done directly without taking context into consideration. All consoles get hot under certain conditions and the whole "legit concern" thing seems.. well, not legit.
Until we have proper measurements this is a non issue. Who the hell bases their judgement on random people on the internet using words such as "toasty" and weird translations as "VIOLENT"?

In Japan, Sony set up a controlled environment and allowed a few YouTube personalities to try out selective elements of the console, but most were forbidden from even touching the thing.
I don't think it's fair to jump on MS for sending hundreds of Xbox Series X units worldwide, including to DF for a full teardown, because a few people were shocked the SSD drive dissipates heat. Especially when Sony invited "professionals" like this guy
It can still be operating while on Standby, particularly if the console is downloading updates or using smart delivery etc. We don't know the circumstances behind either report, it's unscientific hearsay from two podcasters, at least one of whom is stupid enough to hold an NVME SSD drive and touch the metallic heatsink after use.
On another note, I see only concern (trolling) from Sony fans who had zero intention of getting an Xbox here. The fact is, two people thought the dissipation of heat is enough to warrant comment out of hundreds. Others have reported the opposite. Ok.
