Why do people think MS will allow Elder Scroll and Starfield on PS5?

I can see I touched a nerve with some TeamGreen fanboys. You guys enjoy. I will revisit you when Amazon starts buying studios.
"They disagree with me, they're Xbots."

Says the guy saying "for the good of gaming, Xbox should just put the two biggest IPs they just paid 7.5b for on their competitor's product."

Good talk.

Edit: For somebody who gave the "I'm buying both next gen systems" disclaimer, you sound like a fanboy.

There is no money in hardware as been stated in this forum about a million times in just about every thread..
What about everything Phil has said, is so hard for you to understand?

MS makes 30% on EVERYTHING they sell on Xbox. They absolutely do make money with hardware. Any game that gets sold on PS5 is 30% less profit for MS. That goes for third-party and first-party.

Hardware is the way to get and keep consumers in YOUR ecosystem not your competitors. Xbox, Windows PCs Xbox ecosystem. PS5 NOT Xbox ecosystem

Denial that Xbox isn't going to piss away a $7B investment to prop up a competitor.

Phil came out and strait out said Sony is not the competition, Amazon and Google are..
It can't be any more blunt than that

Yet they want to be on all mobile devices

Since when is Game pass exclusive to Xbox? I can't play Halo on a Mac?
This is a crazy Argument I am merely agreeing with Phil who is the head of Xbox, against some speculators who have no clue if ES6 will be on the switch or not.

dude.....!!
ok, here is some education for you:

1) This is the gaming market*

global-games-report-2020-1.jpg

2) This is the portion of the gaming market Microsoft now covers (Console, PC, non-console/non-pc devices, subscriptions) :

global-games-report-2020-2.jpg

*pay close attention that all consoles together comprise 28%, so Sony = 28% - Nintendo - Microsoft.
also understand that when starting a new console generation and talking about next-gen games, that 28% does not even exist.

as I have said numerous times to all those daydreaming people, when looking at the real picture, sony is insignificant

I hope now your following posts will have more insight than your previous ones...

I'm done wasting time on you, this is getting way too silly. Keep dreaming, twisting sound bites to fit your argument and rationalizing why you believe Xbox is going to give away a $7billion investment to their competition.

You think Xbox is putting $7B worth of their exclusives on a competitors platform, I don't. ~The End~

This news shouldn't affect PlayStation gamers at all. They can simply play it on PC which obviously isn't a problem for them. Because anytime Xbox got an exclusive game that was halfway good prior to this, PS fans weren't shy about letting us know they are avid PC gamers who will get the game on PC.

So with that in mind I'll just say, enjoy it on PC!

Really don't need to be educated on the size of mobile gaming, but thanks...
the education is about why sony's new console is completely insignificant to microsoft but ok, whatever one is able to learn, its good

Please God no, please no. I wouldn't survive 100+ hours of sjw orcs fighting misogynistic sexy Elves...
oh you'll play it, and you'll love it, and you'll fill up pages upon pages of sjw orcs cutscene screenshots praising the undisputed master of WRPGs :messenger_beaming:

This has been repeated as nauseum - do you actually think you're being clever by saying it again?

I actually do have a gaming PC so I will be enjoying the $7bn worth of 'exclusives' (😁) on it day one. Well the franchises that aren't a buggy mess and basically dead at this point. So that rules out any future Fallout or Elder Scroll games. Let's hope for better with Starfield.

Put it this way. Those games, ES6/Starfield/FO5/Dishonored3/etc were going to come to the xbox platform anyways. They didn't need to buy the whole damn company to ensure that. They aren't going to buy the company to put it on both systems. It makes no sense. They may be MORE in the business of selling software and services, but they still sale hardware too. PC gaming is free money for them so of course they are gonna service that market. They aren't in the business of ensuring that PS5 has quality games on it's system or they would have BEEN selling MCC, Forza, etc already on PS4. Nothing stopped them from putting their first party titles on PS4 other than them trying to secure their own hardware sales.
Hence why "timed" exclusives is a thing (like Sony releasing on PC as well for some of their games). If they can make money on publishing rights if it fits into their overall strategy, they are definitely going to do that. (As would Sony).

Agree.. This was a move to combat the upcoming streaming services five years out not to outsell PS5 now.
Hopefully a move that forces Sony's hand to include gamepass.

Edit: Phil came out and said as much, not sure why people here think they know their strategy better than he does.
Exactly. Maybe that means 100% exclusivity to only Microsoft software. Maybe that means timed exclusives. Who knows, but this plays into a long term strategy that is fighting the next war (not the one we think they are playing).

Regardless, looking forward to seeing what Bethesda has actually been working on and to play them. They have been middling this entire generation. Starfield and ESVI will need to be significant jumps from their last offerings as the industry has run past them in many ways.

Of course they didn't need to buy it to have the games on Xbox. But they did need to buy it to have it on gamepass day 1.

Has everyone forgotten that gamepass has been trumpeted as the future for a year?
It would have cost a fraction of $7.5 billion to get Bethesda to put their games day one on Game Pass. That kind of deal would have cost WAY less than $1 billion, let alone $7.5 billion. What is so hard to understand about this? You don't spend that kind of cash to put your games on your biggest console rival. It's so obvious that it makes me wonder if the people arguing otherwise are just fucking with everyone for shits and giggles.

I've not seen this anywhere but have either starfield or tes6 been confirmed as single player or online/gaas?

Having lost the current gen, Microsoft is on the back foot going into next gen. So why would they give gamers fewer reasons to own an Xbox and invest in the Xbox ecosystem?

So no time to play a game on a second console, but enough to play on a PC.......

It's okay to say you don't want an XsX. Don't need to bullshit or lie as to why.

Nah man it's not like that, I have a work supplied Laptop that's a top of the range Alienware (I got to choose it :) ) and as much as I'm loving seeing Xbox coming back swinging the only game I'm really interested in is Elder Scrolls 6, don't get me wrong there's a shit ton of great games on Xbox but like I said I only got limited play time and to have another console under the telly would be a waste as much as I'd love one, having said that Santa might buy the wee lad one ;-)

Fanboys, especially Playstation ones, suffer from deranged entitlement syndrome which is basically why they insist for wfatever oddball reasons 1st party titles will all go to competing consoles.
They really do believe that they should be entitled to everything and it’s inexcusable if a game skips their system.

This gen is going to be a hard one for them, if it shapes up as expected.

I don’t think anyone actually believes any Bethesda game that’s not already under contract will show up on PS5. This was a very competitive move from MS and if they’re smart they will keep these games off of PC as well. At least for a while.

Gamepass is on PC so that doesn’t make sense at all. This move was made to sell Gamepass subscriptions. I thought Microsoft put this PC stuff to rest awhile ago. Whether you buy it on console or PC, they’re still getting your money.

Obviously, contrary to certain people's wet dreams, the games won't be on PS5, but keeping them off PC would be a mistake and would only create animosity with PC gamers.

Because they can collect revenue from Sony from any ZeniMax game on their platforms.

Could just be me but I see no reason to think that you won't see the next TES or Fallout on PS5.

Having said that it's always fun when one set of fanboys is sweating through their sheets

You guys are still in denial? Simply nothing else to say. You'll just have to see, cause it makes all the sense in the world to invest $75 billion dollars to acquire an entire publishing arm to help the current market leader keep its stranglehold on market and mindshare. Especially with Amazon and Google on the horizon.

I'm not in denial. I'm not "you guys". I'm ambivalent and you're on edge.
