UK GAF PS5 & Xbox Pre-order Watch

Still no word on my Shopto preorder which is a disc version. Currys preorder confirmed, digital

Quite happy to keep digital one.. the lesser cost will (should) help convince my wife that I also need a new 4k monitor
 
Decided to reorder the same PS5 DE I cancelled off Game. Why you ask? (you didn't but anyways)

The one I ordered was off a guest account so would not let me change anything myself and I would have to go through their customer service who everyone knows are shocking.

So I thought if I order it on my own account this time (which the site blocked me from doing so last time), I can cancel it on my own accord, just triples my chances of getting one on launch!

Can you explain how you did this? You cancelled it, then reordered it before anyone else did?

Yep, as soon as it was cancelled I used my auto refresher to keep refreshing every 5 seconds, and low and behold, one appeared, that went into my basket and was able to be purchased, got an instant order confirmation email too and no cancellation over an hour after order confirmation.

You are literally crazy but that's awesome. It confirms that the stock automatically loads in, so people should keep their eyes on GAME for cancelled orders.
 
In terms of the Game preorders - I've been able to associate my original guest one with my account now by logging in and then using the track order page. Doesn't look like it has assigned me the reward points for it, but it is under my account now which makes me feel a little happier!

I am indeed aha, I am the most pessimistic guy going so I need like 3-4 plans for anything incase anything goes awry, am having bad thoughts about Smyths due to them mainly using Hermes and Yodel so needed at least another back up incase Amazon cancelled or miscalculated their stocks.

Yeah that is probably why stock has randomly went up past midnight these past few days, probably all the cancelled ones going back into the market.

If only I was as smart, would have saved me all this work aha, still am in the same boat now so it worked in the end!
 
Update on Game orders:

Orders are now changing to have the text 'Confirmed for Day One' on them. My headset has this, PS5 doesn't yet. This change has only happened within the last hour so keep your eyes on your account page.

Lot of digital PS5s, dualshocks and headsets have been confirmed but none of the standard PS5s, which is odd. Will let you know if I get one. And yep DPD are the best of Shopto's options. Wish they had DHL or UPS tho.

I have never used DHL, I know they have a terrible trustpilot review but all my mates have said good things about them, as have you!

I reckon it is down to less demand for those three items, will take longer to allocate the standard PS5 units.

If you ever decide to want a digital and become a PS Store sucker like me, my Amazon slot is yours!
 
I'm surprised people are saying shopto are a good retailer. On several games with big launches they've taken my money but been unable to deliver until a few days later. Uncharted 4 was the last straw and I haven't shopped there since.

Totally agree with the demand - I think phat PS5 is the most wanted.

Think they have improved massively since then. They most times deliver my games early, FF7 Remake came almost 2 weeks early for me, TLOU 2 a day early, they never have let me down and offer some great prices.

But you know how those day 1 plans go though, right. Had my snacks and beverages ready... Took the day off... And then waited all day long :messenger_tears_of_joy: only for it to show up three days later.

Oh for sure when they fuck up it is a punch in the gut, but ShopTo is one of the highest reviewed companies in the UK so I would bet they have improved, it is likely the fault of your local couriers.

Really? I've been using them since late last gen and always receive games the day before launch. They offer some pretty fair discounts too if you use them often enough to get Gold / Silver membership.

I ordered my PS4 day 1 with shopto, the only gripe I had was with Ahmed the DPD driver who I watched go past my flat ~5 times, delivering my mates PS4 before me even though his slot was later than mine (to his glee and gloating texts), then delivering mine. Games wise most are delivered 1-2 days early but there was a period when Sony or whoever cracked down on that.

It's all good man, obviously you'll have to pay but if it doesn't get cancelled then you can log in to my account and have it, just put your details in, I got a Smyth's preorder, a game one and Amazon one, whichever one suits you best bro.

How bizarre - I've never seen anything like that before - fraud prevention means they can't process a pre-order?

The sending of games early was initially what attracted me to shopto but in my experience (which admittedly doesn't seem like the norm in this thread) those days you take of for that day 1 hype... Man that's absolutely the most annoying this I've experienced in gaming. And so I moved to amazon. Obviously with that retailer it arrives day 1. But at least it is guaranteed for day 1.

Uncharted 4 was the last straw for me :messenger_tears_of_joy: but I'm glad others are securing PS5s.

Would've cared less if they didn't wait 12 days to tell us and if I was late to confirm my preorder, but I literally confirmed it the minute they went live...
 
Could do with some more popping back up, we've got 1 friend who missed out on both pre order days and he's the only one out of our mates so far who is missing out.

Hopefully somewhere like game or something get a couple pop up.

Allocation goes on when you pre registered, not when you confirm pre-order. I pre registered back in February.

That fucking sucks. Their approach to pre-orders has been pretty shit, no doubt about it. Hope you managed to secure one elsewhere.

I agree with this. They should have told people who expressed interest like after May that they should look elsewhere. Could def have handled this better. I believe they had a number in mind of how many consoles they'd be allocated.
