I wanna believe. But I also can't help but think we're just gonna get ridiculous rumors from people trying to compete with the latest Microsoft acquisition news.
Rumour: Metal Gear Solid Is Getting a Full Remake, and It's a PS5 Console Exclusive
Tactical Espionage Actionwww.pushsquare.com
Me.lol not gonna happen
Anyway who would want another remake of MGS 1?
Twin Snakes was more like a Remaster with new cutscenes though. And it was shit. A propper Remake like say RE2 would be amazeballs.wow, a remake of a games that has already been remade about 20 years ago. I'm so excited.
Some fan took it personal and is making it himself.
So much salt lol. Imagine the meltdowns if it ends up being true.
A bit off topic but it's kinda crazy to me that MGS4 never got a rerelease on other platforms by now, not even a PS4 release
The MGS4 engine was already running on Windows for Metal Gear Arcade, so I don't think it's the Cell Architecture holding MGS4 to the PS3, it's most likely licensing issues (Snake using a PS3 controller to move the MK .II, the iPod, Hal's macbook etc). There was a discussion a few months ago on Twitter. People say the PS3 code is difficult to implement into the PS4 matrix. It would have to be a complete Remake like FF7 or Demon Souls. Most think that Konami/Sony (special contract) will not invest so much money. Also Kojima spoke about a Directors Cut a few years ago. He basically had to cut some parts of the game, because of issues with Konami.
I would celebrate my life if a Remaster would happen.

And I don't know of any reason why Konami had anything to do with "cut content" for MGS4. MGS4 was supposed to come out in 06, then 07, and finally in 08. Most of Act 3 was cut because of time constraints and certain sections not being "fun
The rumor mentions that, in addition to the Metal Gear Solid remake, remastered versions of Sons of Liberty, Snake Eater and Guns of the Patriots are also in the works. This would be the second remake
How about porting MGS4 to PS5 instead. It's still locked to PS3.
Well there was a rumor that there was a MGS1/2 for PC, and then this one. I believe they're both different, well, maybe.Sony can't announce new things now, everything will be a reaction to Zenimax.
Besides, rumor doesn't say PS5 exclusive, it's going to be console ex so PC later too.

Is that a konami ex or something?
Because it comes from a source who apparently - I don't follow him, but that's what I've heard - has been accurately reporting tech stuff recently? And also because the timing of it makes sense:lmao why would anyone believe that. Microsoft announced buying Bethesda and the next day there are rumors about one of the best gaming franchises of all time that is beloved by many enthusiast around the globe to a cult level is getting a remake exclusive for the competing console that just bought a gigantic amount of studios/company.
Very clear case of some troll exploiting gullible fans dreams.
Chance of actual remakes ? Super small
Chance of pachinko ? gigantic
Chance of bad remastered ports for MGS games on PS5 ? slim but not zero

- Since the rumor mentions that the Metal Gear Solid remake would be a PlayStation 5 and PC release, I have to assume that Sony is involved to some extent - and what would Sony do if that were to be the case? Give the project to Bluepoint Games.
- Demon's Souls is right around the corner, which means that Bluepoint has had a new project in planning/preproduction stages for a couple of months now - as Demon's Souls was already in development by the time that the Shadow of the Colossus remake released in february 2018.
- Castlevania: Requiem (2018) for PS4 was developed in partnership with SIE Worldwide Studios. Right now, a new Silent Hill title is being worked on at Japan Studio. It is clear that there's a close relationship between Sony and Konami nowadays, so it wouldn't be far fetched to think that Sony has been given the keys to Metal Gear as well.
This would be incredible for me.... my favorite series of all time.
Just a warning, Tesseract isn't really a developer on the rumored MGS1 remake. I feel betrayed and the whole experience has left uh, well, bad taste in my mouth. Be warned.I would litchurally suck dicks to get this!
