Currently playing Ghost and it’s great, really good fun. It does certain things better than TW3. But I love the world in TW3 more than I do Ghost. I prefer the fantasy setting, the fantasy lore etc.

Ghost would beat perhaps all but 2-3 games for me and TW3 is one of those games.

GerAlt-Right. Ciriously.
Ghost of Tsushima has better combat and gameplay, but Witcher 3 is just a better game in terms of atmosphere and the world is better.

PlayStation and their exclusives are cashmere.

Sony seems to have a very liberal understanding of what the word 'exclusive' means from what I can tell. 🤔

Still keep on shilling for your junk box one-note, just leave me out of it. I'm not interested in cheap thrills. Capisce.

Why would you even...

Oh, I get it, it's a fake poll to fish out how many GAFfers have relly shitty tastes!

The Witcher 3 was fantastic. With several gameplay mods it's insanely good as mods will fix all the small issues the game has.

Eh, I call them out on fake exclusives... they don't do it for me.

Ironically Sia has a song called Cheap Thrills and a Song called Confetti where PlayStation is in the lyrics.

Ayway, lighten up...you're a teddy-bear after-all.

I adore Ghost of Tsushima, but Witcher 3 is my game of this generation.
Great matchup though as these two games are very similar. GoT follow the blueprint made by Witcher.
They are both awesome games but Witcher 3 is probably my favorite game ever. Easily of the generation, it's a damn near perfect RPG for me. It hits on every note for me. The music still wrangles my jimmies. And I think I've played it at least once a year since it's release. With a few mods, its stunning. I've been such a fan of CDPR since Witcher 1 and to see how far they've come and even manage to accomplish with Witcher 3 has just been so awesome. I'm so incredibly excited for Cyberpunk.

This poll shouldn't even be close.

And I really enjoyed Ghost of Tsushima. It came out right when my daughter was born and it was a very pleasant game to have on late at night feeding and watching her the first few weeks. It's very solid and it seems they learned a lot of things from Witcher 3 and certainly do some things better even. But it's still not in the same league.

I loved both games.

GOT got a bit repetitive for me to beat out the masterpiece that is W3.
GOT is my GOTY thus far.

Sorry Ghost.... But TW3 is one of my favorite games ever and I love the books, tv show and the other games.

Still... Ghost is amazing.

Man it's cool to have people choose their favorite game, but most of the GoT votes' justification reads exactly like this

29ator.jpg

Wouldn't that make this whole voting worthless? I mean, coming from the one who make all this thing happen, seems like a moody move.

I literally started GoT today, and while combat is already better than W3, there’s absolutely no way in hell is going to be nearly as good. I mean, it’s great, beautiful to look at (because of it’s art, least impressive Sony F1 i’ve played this gen technically, outside of vegetation which is basically next-gen and what i guess took all resources) and with jap dub i get chills constantly, but W3 is one the best games every made bar none.
I don’t want to vote W3 yet, but i don’t see my preference changing.

The Witcher 3 was one of the most ambitious games ever released, quality and quantity and the expansions alone were on a such high level, that other publisher would release them as standalone games.

And idk why, when I think that Ghost of Tsushima is a western game (heard some bad stuff about lipsync too), I remember this quote

edit: I forgot that exclusive titles get +50% bonus votes, still, Geralt got this.

Easy.

Witcher 3.

Terrible combat, but this game defined current gen. Hands down best AA(A) RPG we had this gen.

Maybe I'll replay Witcher 3 when they release the PS5 upgraded version. I played it back when it released, but I wasn't all that thrilled with it. The combat didn't engage me, I didn't care about Geralt or his crew, and the story didn't grab me. But with all the praise the game gets, I feel like I must've missed something.

I hope the fad of talking down Witcher 3 sticks clear of this competition.. it's the best game of the decade, if not my entire life.. People with hindsight, years later, can pick holes in it, without any sense of how ridiculous they are to say a half decade old game's graphics aren't perfect~ they can say the combat is too easy but i had plenty of deaths against red foes despite my incessant rolling~

These deluded disses don't mean jack shit about how unprecedented it was, how great it was, when it first came out. Also, Gwent. Edit: if you came to the game late, after hearing everyone diss the combat, you might suffer from an influenced perspective.. replay it with a positive mind and you'll see that the combat is, at least, absolutely not game breaking.

You did man, you absolutely did. The game is too massive, too immersive, too beautiful, too well written, too unpredictable, too grounded.. it’s an absolutely unforgettable, magical experience.

Well, no. The game outside of it’s out of this world artistic direction, which is what made it look so incredibly good, felt very underwhelming technically coming from Witcher 2 and that colossal downgrade it got caused justified backlash. Plus, the combat truly is serviceablee and not much more.

BUT, it still is and forever will be and absolute masterpiece, one of those gems out once every ten years or so.

edit: I forgot that exclusive titles get +50% bonus votes, still, Geralt got this.
And the multiplatform game +100% from Xbox and PC only gamers, just like you in every single one of these pools.

whats the difficulty like in ghosts of tsushima?
Bit of a cakewalk if you are a little bit skilled with action rpg.

a lot of OP stuff, too much really.

And stealth is even more OP.

It's not a game you play to enjoy an extreme challenge (or even an hard one), like 95% of modern open worlds.

Yeah, sometimes you have to be in the mood for a game to grab you, and if you're not in that frame of mind at the time, it just falls flat. Maybe that's what happened. It was just bad timing somehow.

I'll give Geralt another shot. The upgraded version of the game should make another try worthwhile. I never played the DLC, either, and I've heard that's good.

GoT. Witcher 3 gameplay was a real slog at times. Dandelion missions were some of the worst I've ever played in an open world game.

This was a rough one. In terms of satisfaction with a game, I rank them equally but I have to go with The Witcher. I can't remember the last time I replayed a game of that size for a second time. Not a touch of boredom either.

That being said, if GoT wins, I'll still be a happy man

I voted W3...I liked GoT a lot, but despite the crackhead awful Witcher 3's combat, it has way better questing and overall rpg thingies. Game is stupidly long too while not recurring to boring tasks.

GoT is prettier, but that's it. Witcher is still a bigger, more ambitious game in terms of writing, combat and overall level design

You should. When I picked it up years ago I couldn't get into it. But I played it again this year and I loved it. I think once I got to the Bloody Barron quest line it started to click for me. Legit one of my top 5 games of all time after finishing it.

Is the general opinion about the combat of the game being sooo bad, hyperbole?

I didn't find the combat bad at all. That's not to say I find it fantastic, but not that bad.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
GoT for me. Felt very disappointed with TW3´s gameplay, although everything else in that game were fantastic.

What time is it?
They both have similar design problems in that their open worlds are afraid to let end users miss any content. Combat is fairly run of the mill in both but I do think the duels in Ghost gives it a slight advantage. Ghost also features a more enjoyable environment but that's purely subjective. Witcher 3 has a stronger narrative and I push on through a game I wasn't in love with to see the outcome which is something I can't say about Ghost as I fell off shortly into the second act.

Hard choice - between my favorite game on PS4 and what has to be one of my favorite games ever. I guess Witcher has to take it...

GoT was a masterpiece and I loved every second of it.

But Witcher 3 is also a masterpiece and one of my favorite games of all time.

I could finish Witcher 3 and just start playing it again immediately, I've probably played it through 3 or 4 times and its a long fuckin game.

Witcher 3 baby

GOT seems to be adored. I'm holding on for a 60fps patch as I simply can't enjoy 30fps anymore. Call me an elitist or whatever, bit it just says me enjoyment out of a game and it annoys me I let it bother me so much.
