Is there anything that leaked that isn't official yet? I guess Gold going free would half count, although there hadn't been any Microsoft-based leaks for that.

What else could be left?

Credit to Microsoft, they've basically dominated the news cycle for the 25th anniversary week of Playstation. Of course, Sony could be just preparing a haymaker but they need to just drop a few bombs or anything. It's bordering on stubborness rather than stoic now.

Only in North America. The PlayStation released Dec. 3, 1994 and celebrated their 25th anniversary last year. If they wanted to dominate the news cycle, they could.

US or not, it doesn't really matter. A 25th anniversary in a Tier 1 market is still a major event for any brand. The only thing trending Playstation yesterday on twitter were the many tweets asking them to copy Microsoft and drop the preorder details 🤷‍♂️ If they're surrendering the news cycle then fair enough, it's still a weak strategy when your competitor manages to turn a leak into a flex.

leads to fear. Fear leads to xbox.
MS and Xbox just going for the Fatality now, they must have gotten some inside information on whats going on at Sony, because this just feels like information overload at this point that is suppose to overwhelm the competition.
They werent supposed to start their campaign until next week and then things got leaked. So whatever they are doing now is because they were forced to

I think it is as simple as the initial leak has worked out in their favor and they are just riding the positive momentum.

I just told you PlayStation celebrated their 25th anniversary last year. In every market. The US got the 25th anniversary items last year, despite the different release date. They barely gave two fucks about celebrating the 25th anniversary last year during the actual 25th anniversary, they certainly don't give two fucks about your fantasy "Tier 1 market" 25th anniversary celebration that's actually in year 26. Nor do they care about Xbox "dominating this week."

Whatever dominating you think is going on now, remember that when Sony announces price - which by the way will more than likely come with the announcements of games as well and not just a tweet, as Sony actually has major launch title(s) to promote - and measure those dominating numbers you think you're seeing now against what happens with PlayStation.

That was confirmed pc footage. They havent shown any footage at all of an actual game running on the system
There have been some trailers of smaller games last week that stated "running on series x". There was also a far cry remastered dev updated showing series x footage

Idk to me this just seems like it was planned. A leak garners more hype and engagement than a show floor these days especially now that there is no E3. Everything is about social media buzz and making a splash, this also goes along perfectly with the info release of EA Play, which they didn't need to announce now if they planned for this info to be official released next.

And now they are hyping up even more things to come out of nowhere. If anything this info should have been hyped a week before the release of this info, because it seems quite a substantial information drop, most likely the biggest we will get till the release of the consoles.

lol, thanks for that, needed a good joke to start the day off.

Oh gosh, some people are in for a major shock when Sony decide's to blink.

Well I am glad I can provide you some sort of entertainment since you know Sony isn't, but I don't mind being the jester till they do.

All I'm hearing from MS are third party money hat deals. They still have a gaping hole in their first party line up.

Everyone is rabidly waiting for any PS5 news, so as soon as Sony starts talking, Xbox will be kicked off the bed like Woody in Toy Story.

I don't care about the numbers. This is what people like you don't grasp. I don't care what the reality is for the brand points, I just post what is happening. Microsoft is everywhere at the moment. Sony is nowhere. That's a fact. I don't know how many numbers there are. Frankly I don't look at retweets, likes, thumbs and all that shit. You care more about defending Sony for being a bit shit now - which they are - than appreciating the circumstances around it. Also putting 'Tier 1 market' means you think the US isn't a Tier 1 market - is that your take? I also never said Sony care about Microsoft dominating this week. I didnt give them any emotive traits at all, because I don't think of them as a person. You don't have to rush in and defend Sony you know. I own like four playstations and yes, they are being shit now. And releasing the price in two weeks which gets 3000 hearts and retweets isn't going to change my mind. They are managing this fucking awfully.

Are you sure? PS5, PlayStation were trending topics, tweets after the XSS got "accidentally leaked to the public".

Playstation was trending because there were thousands of tweets like the below tagged with shit like #PS% #Preorder #Playstation etc

I think they will be okay. Tactic is launching Nov 10, Call of the seas soon after, Crossfire X, Halo Sometime next year, Bright Memory and STALKER soon to follow... they will be okay.. no major hitters till 2021 and from there it should be a snowball effect with Forza, Fable, Avowed, Hellblade, and Rumored Perfect Dark

Such odd arguments Xbox was always going to dominate the news cycle on the day of them announcing a console, price and release date. And they weren't even going to release the info until next week originally anyway. Some people are so reactionary its embarrassing
