We need a laughing exasperated man video with this.

  • 35th anniversary(makes a big deal out of it)
  • Charging full retail price for something they've done 0 work on
  • Forcing Switch Lite users to BUY JOY CONS to play 1 game, INSTEAD of fixing it like NVIDIA has on their Shield(biggest OMPH)*
  • Not including Super Mario Galaxy 2 in a collection asking $60 for.
  • LIMITED digital run.
*stated on Official Eshop Page for game.

Someone floated this in the Direct thread, but is it possible Galaxy 2 is an unlock?

Nintendo couldn't be that crazy to pretend it doesn't exist... Right?

It is not required, unless you want to play Galaxy co-op.

The games are all compatible with Pro Controllers.
  • Defy gravity as you explore space in the Super Mario Galaxy™ game, originally released in 2007! Help Rosalina restore her ship by collecting Power Stars and save Princess Peach. Gently shake a Joy-Con™ controller to activate Mario’s Spin ability or pass a Joy-Con controller to a friend for some extra help in Co-Star Mode*.
*If playing on Nintendo Switch Lite, detached Joy-Con controllers are required and sold separately. See support.nintendo.com/switch/play for details.

They're not saying ONLY for CO-OP they're saying to make Mario SPIN PUNCH, an essential move they couldn't be bothered to bind to a single fucking button.

This one REALLY pisses me off, it ruined the game originally and was fixed on the NVIDIA Shield in Other Markets, but NINTENDO THEMSELVS couldn't make this simple thing happen.

Sunshine was amazing and I won't hear otherwise.

I loved Mario 64 but when Mario Sunshine came out it was incredible. Mario finally actually looked like the Mario on the box for a change. The island theme, the music, the graphics, feeling like you were doing things and accessing things you weren't supposed to with the water pack - it was all just amazing at the time.

So maybe it's because I'm an old fart that vividly and fondly remembers the transition from Mario 64 to Sunshine that I will always hold it in high regard.

That's wishful Nintendo Defense Force hope thinking and trying to defend their awfulness at any cost.

I've been waiting for this because I want to go back and play Mario 64.

What do you guys think is the best way to play it in 2020? I've never looked into playing on an emulator but I can.

Probably some kind of subscription based virtual console dropping next year, thats why its only available until march and with the launch of that, probably comes mario galaxy 2 amongst other titles.

Oh god, I was so hyped about this, and then I saw that those were pretty much the original versions of those games, with a simple res upgrade. Come on, I already played those games to ABSOLUTE death, and finished them more than twice already ! So no fresh coat of paint to somewhat justify a double-dip like the original All-Stars, bullshit Nintendo at it again... :messenger_expressionless:

Went from 'instant preorder' to maybe at a discount.

EDIT: Considering the low print run, even a discount is far from a given...

I think if you want to play it at 60 fps you'll essentially have to resort to a hacked version that does its best to replicate animations and physics at that framerate. If you want the most authentic experience that still affords a better-than-N64 experience, it's probably Nintendo's official Switch release.

Does Mario 64 have a 16 x 9 ratio or did they even bother. The direct only showed low res 4:3 video of Mario 64. Of the games that needed most attention was Mario 64. I was expecting something like this at the minimum, minus the 4k:

Low effort Nintendo....good thing I'm a multiplatform gamer otherwise I wouldn't have much to be excited for this year as a Nintendo only gamer.

Will get just for Super Mario Galaxy but kinda bummed these aren't "remastered". Optimized is good(60fps or bust) but it would have been
nice to see Nintendo give us a graphics/resolution bump.

This is so fucking pathetic i just can't.

Missing Galaxy 2, 30fps for Mario 64 and Sunshine, gently telling Switch Lite users to go fuck themself or buy joy cons, no upgrades AT ALL - no, running the 64 rom in HD and 16:9 is nothing a free emulator can't do.

And the worst is that people will buy it. Scalpers will scalp. And not enough people will tell Nintendo to go fuck themself and put an effort. Like they did for Metroids 25th anniversary...

I’m excited because I now have a kid and she loved Odyssey. Here’s hoping the second rumor of 3D World pans out too...kinda scummy but who knows maybe Galaxy 2 is DLC?

Been looking for pre-order for the physical edition but can't find anything. I guess they haven't begun where I live. Damn, feel all rushed and shit since it's limited.

Oh hell yes. I'm in 100%. Never played Sunshine, so looking forward to giving it a try.

$19.99 during the limited run and $39.99 after would be at least reasonable. Disappointing, as they didn't seem to improve them, but reasonable. $60? Jesus.

The quality here is super disappointing. I didn't really expect enhancements of the assets, but is it too much to ask to get 64 and Sunshine running at 60fps? I was really hoping they'd make changes to Galaxy to make it playable in handheld too, but nope.

Manage your expectations.

And this is why i was angry the Switch couldn't play Wii / Wii-U games... people shouldn't be paying full price for this crap.

I really like the cleaned up look of Mario 64’s textures. Wish they’d update the camera and give full control, but other than that, I’m pleased. I’m hoping Galaxy 2 will be dlc down the road. It’d be a bummer to not be able to purchase that as well

This is incredibly low effort even by Nintendo standards.

They get good sales after the wii u disaster that almost shut them down and they can't even bother doing a proper job?

The price is known, please try to get all the facts before shitposting.
Laughing at the ridiculous pricing on these ports isn't shitposting. I was right. They are selling this at full price! And Super Mario 3D World as well! Yikes.

This pricing is worth mocking.

I don't think they've done anything to the textures, but the filtering is different than the N64's (very distinctive) filtering.
