We can't blame the ship crew for the madness of their captain. Artists and tech guys did their jobs and have families to feed and depts to pay. Again, in modern SJW climate you either stfu or lose your job/position.
It's a pity that outside the generic gameplay and some of the worst writing ever done for a AAA game, TLOU2 is indeed gorgeous. The art direction, environmental design, soundtrack and the monster models deserve to be utilized for another, better game.

I don't know what pisses me off more, the fact that you play as Abby, or the fact that she exists at all. Was the point trying to get people to empathize with them, because that shit is never going to work at all, especially with that introduction. Just fucking murder Joel, and talking about how she's going to make it last...oh because Joel didn't let her father kill Ellie...fuck off.
Joel's actions might have been wrong to some degree, but they were also relatable. He killed a bunch of people, but he did it out of love and trying to protect someone. This Abby bitch kills Joel out of hatred and anger, and does it with sadistic intent. Joel had no other choice if he wanted to protect Ellie.
I just hate this story so god damn much. Might have been better if Abby was purely a villain, but then you don't make people play half the game as them.

Another thing. Based on the conversation of Joel with Tommy in the beginning, it seems the intention of the first game's ending really was to vilify Joel's action.
The fireflies logic was "We have a rare speciment that might produce a cure, so we're gonna immediatly kill it in a procedure that could very well go completely wrong". Its something only some crazy group would do, which is why i fully agreed with what Joel did.
But it seems they really wanted to go with the "He doomed to world to save a girl", which feels really dumb within the context.

The impression I always got from the first game was that they didn't even know that any kind of cure could be produced by ripping her brain out, only that they figured they might as well try. There were no guarantees with what they were going to do. What a crock of shit.

Yeah I mean I get it. I'm suspecting the game is going to be very split everywhere, I don't buy that it's going to be overwhelming negative. Though it's definitely gonna get review bombed, in which I'm sure Sony will pressure MC to do something about that. Also the game is going to get meme'd to hell and back (it already kinda is), and will probably be looked at as a joke for years to come.
One thing is definitely certain. Years from now when TLoU Part 3 is announced, it's not going to have the same level of hype as Part 2 had. We'll be looking at another Last Jedi/Rise of Skywalker situation.
