Did Mark Cerny REVEAL the SHAPE of the PlayStation 5 Console AND BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY in the most SUBTLE way possible? (Visual Proof ITT!!!)

This is NOT a troll thread.

When I saw this slide during the morning GDC presentation, I was a bit intrigued by this slide for two things:
  1. The Shape of that object resembles ALOT like a traditional console, especially the PlayStation 3 Slim....speaking of which......
  2. The fact that the slide COMPRESSES the "PS5/PS4 Pro/PS4" in a way to create space below it makes me think that the FULL REVEAL EVENT will bring up this slide again and fill up the space with "PS3 - Legacy Mode/PS2/PSOne". Below is an illustration of this:

Don't be triggered Kojima-san, it would be awesome if this is true, but I dunno. You are basically saying Sony went out of their way to deliver a less favorable presentation.

That said, maybe that makes it more believable 🙃
I'm really hoping I'm right because that would be so freaking cool if it turns out to be true.

Then people are gonna think I'm some Sony employee or something.....

Not going to lie, I was actually kinda curious why they put the graphics like that. That damn sure is the PS3 slim shape though. Also, didn’t someone say another of the shapes on the slides resembled the leak of the shape of the PS5? Kinda in a X shape?

the part that confuses me is that this slide relates entirely to BC (as per the heading), so what does PS5 native mode mean? the boost mode that boosts PS4 games?? but then what are the legacy modes for???
it's not like legacy mode will enable every game to work, since they already debunked that...

Maybe it’s just a P shape for PlayStation? 🤪

Then again maybe the tech talk is at friction with a future PR event so info is not fully forthcoming.

Doubt that's the shape. I think we'll get a refined version of the devkit. And that slides definitely makes it seem like there's more to come. PS2 for PS3 was at the very bottom. Strange they left room for 3 more consoles on the PS5 one.

With it having the circuits showing, maybe that's the shape of the motherboard or something.

But yeah, I really did think about how that empty space looked like it was missing PS3 and PS2 on it or something.

He was especifically talking about hardware based backwards compatibility.
Older consoles would have to be supported via emulation. Not likely, unless they get destroyed in sales.
Hmmm, maybe they'll do something about that.

If they support PS1-3 why would they just say so?
They talked so much about BC, even in their blog posts, why not just say so then? Doesn’t make any sense.
