Having government handle some stuff via taxes ain't socialism. I am talking about real socialism
? The stuff taxes pay for can be socialism, soooo some that "stuff" very much can be socialism. I don't get this whole "real socialism". That isn't a finite thing, that is something that simply varies by a degree of.

So some stuff in the United States fit that term, some stuff doesn't. The issue is many people are trying to make it a some blanket thing to define the United States ie Capitalist or Socialist etc.
America is neither 100% Socialist OR Capitalist. We have many industry that are profit driven ie Capitalist, we have many institutions in the United States that don't have that concept, Police, Fire Fighters, Garbage man, Libraries etc. Best way to deal with this is simply, stop trying to find a one word answer to solve the issue. America has never been 1 over the other, it has always been a mixture of both. I never get why folks hear a term and start bending it to fit this concept where the exact definition doesn't really support it MUST BE the only concept or something.
So we live in a hybrid set up, to argue we don't have it, is to question what Public Schools are, libraries, fire fighters, police officers etc. I mean dear god, the most funded SOCIALIST program in the world in is the United States with our Military. It belongs to no one person, is funded by our tax payer dollars, not created for the sake of any profit, made for the good of the country etc. The best way of understanding this, is to stop thinking it can ONLY BE 1 or the other. We have both.
