New Image Upload Feature

Another feature that's here by popular request, you can now upload images directly from NeoGAF when creating or replying to threads and conversations. The images will be transferred to Imgur and can then be easily inserted into posts. Let's take a look.

At the bottom of the post composition window you will now see a new option: Upload Images.

You can press "Select Files" to select one or more images from your computer or phone to be uploaded.

When you're done selecting images, you can press the "Upload All" button, and those images will be uploaded to Imgur. Now, you will see an "Insert" button that will insert the image into the post.

The image can then be manipulated the same way as if it were inserted by link.

As always, we welcome your feedback on this new feature.

Nice feature. One question not related:
In mobile the 'strike-through' button don't appears (Mozilla Focus). Is this normal?

That is really cool. Two questions:

1) Are images uploaded to imgur set to public or private?

2) Would it be useful to be able to link one's NeoGAF account to one's Imgur account?

One more thing I would like to ask. Is it possible that just throwing the image link there actually puts the image without having to click on the media box then insert?

The fact that you chose that Vince gif as an example is hilarious.

But this is an awesome feature I've been dying for. Keep up the amazing work.

Let's just hope CyberPanda doesn't accidentally upload some of his nugget porn.

You can still use img tags like before, and manually host whatever elsewhere if you want. If you use the new interface, it'll upload the images you select to imgur and then generate links to use.

"The maximum file size for non-animated images (think JPG, PNG, etc) is 20MB. PNG files over 5MB will be converted to JPEGs. The maximum file size for animated images (like GIFs) and video is 200MB. Video uploads cannot be longer than 30 seconds"

It's possible for the api to fail. If you're within the size restrictions and get a failed upload, just try again.

Yeah image is jpg. Keep trying to upload and it keeps saying upload failed.

It's not because I'm in the UK?

I'll restart everything and try again in a bit.
