Spider-Man: Singleplayer, 4-6x size of Sunset, Spider-Man is 23, has Peter gameplay

IMO, this would not be better.

You act as though that's how they're using the QTE's in this game. Just don't buy the game, you have been talking about this same thing in 2 different threads now. We get it, you saw an 8 min demo with maybe 30 seconds of QTE's and now think the whole game will be full of them.

Spider-Man was never given an actual release timeframe last year. Sony, Insomniac, and Marvel all said that they weren't talking about release dates when they were asked about it last year. So, this 2018 date is the first time they've given us an idea of when it'll release. Of course me saying that it won't be out for more than a year is just speculation, but I really wouldn't be surprised if it was a late 2018 title. It's kinda clear that they'll be given as much time as needed to get it into the shape they desire.

Even with Layden standing on stage and repeatedly saying that this was a "true exclusive"?
Layden should have worn a shirt saying Spiderman- True Exclusive. People love shirts, and take what they say to heart more than any other way of relaying information.

also QTEs suck. they always suck. there are no exceptions.
This is such bullshit. God of War games make great use of QTEs, I enjoy them a lot there. QTEs suck when badly implemented like in Tomb Raider and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, where you'll get a random QTE after the scene had been going for a while, and since you thought nothing was coming and failed the QTE, you had to do it all over again.

If you've ever played Resident Evil 6, I feel really bad for you, lol.

I don't get what is the difficult/hard part to imagine. I mean, seriously, just look at the crane scene, you can either have that COOL set piece that requires you to push a few god damn QTE, or you can have NOTHING at all, and it will just be swinging around open world, rescue people, have the same exact fighting animation.
Taking the crane scene as an example again, what do people want, manually run and swing and shoot, making some sort of combo button to perform those stuff?

even though there was too much QTE, but that was not my main problem with the game, the main problem is the combat, it looks way too boring, i'm not feeling the attacks, no sound effects when you beat someone and the animations are horrible

i loved Sunset overdrive and Ratchet and clank(2016), but i probably won't touch Spider-man

To be honest, while Spiderman (2000) looks very dated, it's gameplay looks more fun than Spiderman PS4 because it builds a scenario that focuses on the movement, traversal, and skill. See Spiderman(2000) Police Chopper Chase.

In spite of the reactions that got, it's actually a good example. Because, while it does look incredibly dated in every respect, it does present an action sequence designed around the gameplay, which is a much better approach than the irksome interactive cutscenes this new Spider-Man game will unfortunately have.

I'm with yall. Do people hate this in Bayonetta too?

And do you really think Insomniac of all people are going to make this a QTE game?

WTF is this nonsense .
Spidey has some damn good animation for everything .
In fact it one of the things that make the game looks so good is the animation .

I agree with you about the animation, but I agree with him about the sound effects -
they are far too subdued and sound weak. The punch/kick noises should sound like this:

Specifically the ones around the 35-38 second mark.

Here are the isolated sounds without music or voices:

I've watched the trailer at least 30 times, seriously, I have problems.
And the QTE....
Nah, just want to point out, the soundtrack is FANTASTIC.

So we are basically never gonna be able to have a discussion about this game that doesn't come back to QTE's... Great.
There's a certain irony in what you're saying there! What would you prefer to discuss?

Here's something (though probably already been talked about here). If they won't say whether or not Miles Morales is playable then I think it's a good bet that he is, because I would straight up expect them to confirm that kind of thing if a character is not playable. Leaving fans hanging only to say later that he isn't playable doesn't seem like something they would do (why not confirm right now if he's not?) Because of the hush-hush, I assume him being playable would be strongly story-related (they do say he has a bigger role than a cameo), being a good reason why they can't talk about said role just yet.

It's not like we are going to find a game that does the same mission or scenario. It shows that it is possible to design a set piece around a player's movement instead of a passive experience that requires hitting buttons unconsciously.

Lol dude, that looked like ass.

The only only part that had this problem to me, was the part with the big goon. The hits didn't sound like they had as much impact at that part. But the game is probably over a year out so hopefully they change it.

I understand that some people want to talk about the QTE's since they are a part of the gameplay, however it's been dominating the discussion in both this thread and the other one. Perhaps a new thread focused on that would be in order?

I've been a huge Spider-Man fan all my life and have played a lot (not all) of the newer games with him since the PS1 days. The fact that this seems to be a game that I've been waiting for since Spider-Man 2 and Ultimate Spider-Man showed the potential of open world big budget Spider-Man games makes me giddy. So instead of coming back to the same discussion time and time again discussing other aspects of the game would personally excite me more.

As you brought up, what role does Miles play in the story? What villains would people like to see and why? What aspects of the larger Marvel universe do people want to be included?

Personally I hope that they tie it into the rich universe they have at hand in a good way. I don't necessarily need to have other heroes included in the game, but famous Marvel landmarks such as Avengers Tower, Empire State University, the Baxter Building and so on would be a huge plus in my book. You can also include characters such as MJ or Millie the model through billboards in a way that makes sense in-universe without having to include them in the game. (Although I hope MJ is in it).

Having many characters is great. I'm not too familiar with Spider-Man outside of the movies and like 2 games that i didnt even play for long so maybe this game could have the Arkham effect on me and gets me into the Spider-Man comics.

Yes he would be awesome.

I think my dream list of villains aside from Kingpin and Mr. Negative would be:

Green Goblin
Doctor Octopus
Electro
Venom
Carnage
Kraven The Hunter
Vermin
Mysterio
The Shocker
Vulture
Chameleon
Morbius
The Lizard
Sandman

If that particular rogues gallery is in the game, Spider-Man PS4 will be the GOAT.

It's the new Horizon.
Lots of concerned people. Concerned that this is exclusive.

Huuuhhh... not really (and this same cheap argument could be inverted). If they didn't want people talking about QTE they should just have shown a different section. I don't understand why some people think it's so absurd to talk about it and to not enjoy it. It's not as if people decided to dislike QTE just now... lol

Horizon concerns were based on some similarties with Far Cry, which is also a successful game but with a formula people are getting a bit tired of. Thankfully it seems the game was much more than it.
