Pretty sure Jez has said before that he's not going to leak anything. The most he's said is halo wars 2 DLC and AC marketing

Which is good. I don't want him to leak anything. Now it just depends if other sources leak it before the conferences start
which lets be honest, it probs will happen.

I think if that rumored Bethesda Sci Fi game is real it'll show up on MS's press conference. Would be a nice reveal then a watch Bethesda's conference for more details or something.

You still don't seem to understand. The holiday release was already agreed upon by all parties. There would be no clause in the contract that would see the game follow Uncharted around the calendar.

No, you don't understand. Uncharted 4 played a big deal why the deal was signed in the first place, marketing it as Xbox answer to Uncharted was the main way to make it stand out and not get " crushed under the weight of heavy hitters". Unfortunately for MS/SE Uncharted 4 got delayed... yet of all dates, MS choose to release in the same day as Fallout 4, when they could have negotiated with SE to move the date to another quarter or at least move it another date in Q4. And they were the publisher, so they had some power in dicating the release date.

The "reason" TF1 was moved is irrelevant. It did move and it was successful in the Spring. Meanwhile games that did not move were crushed under the weight of heavy hitters. THIS is the historical data. MS might be passionate about Q4, but they aren't passionate about going head to head w/ COD or canninbalizing sales of their own shooters.

Actually all MS games who were released in Q4 2013 were successful even the ones with mixed critical reception. And MS sure didn't care about that "historical data" when continued to push most of their games in Q4 (and they still do).

And you seriously think MS was gonna put the sequel to the juggernaut Titanfall in Q1? The game which rivaled even Halo 5 in sales (this one also released very close to CoD) ? There is bigger chance MS would push Gears 4 to Q1 if they actually wanted to spread their games evenly in the year.

Also watch next year when MS launches Halo 6 very close to Battlefield and CoD.

That list smells fishy for various reasons...

1. 3rd party IP but first-party investment despite constant reiteration by Phil that his go-forward mantra is investing in IPs they own
2. reeks of "dream list" syndrome, where big hit IPs, legacy IPs, and capable studios are attached to a list to establish a strong identity
3. Harrison attached to MH-deal with Xbox, even though his role within MS is Europe-bound.
4. Inconsistent level of knowledge/leaks that's weird. Knowledgable about business deals & executive insights, but only superficial knowledge on already announced games.

Furthermore, as Jez put it, someone who knows that deep of a potential conference lineup would pretty much know everything, and by that point, you can tell someone is legit/fake by what is not on the list, as opposed to what is on the list.

No matter how big a deal Uncharted was, no one is going to agree to follow another game around the calendar- because they have no idea when said game will actually release. Uncharted got moved, but the release date train had left the station. There's nothing that could be done about it. Sure published the game, but their are obviously caveats. It's crazy that your argument has shifted from MS had no say in the matter with regards to TF but could do whatever they want with TR.

Actually all MS games who were released in Q4 2013 were successful even the ones with mixed critical reception. And MS sure didn't care about that "historical data" when continued to push most of their games in Q4 (and they still do).

Likely in part due to the fact that they don't cannibize their own portfolio. Your saying that had they had TF2 they would have put it up against COD, BF, and Gears.
Other, games were crushed. Much like how TF2 ended up getting crushed.

The 'juggernaut' that released in the spring...
it also didn't rival H5 in sales.
It's possible Gears would get moved instead, but it makes more sense to have the lone TPS in the window, than to sandwhich a newer franchise between two FPS giants.

Also watch next year when MS launches Halo 6 very close to Battlefield and CoD.

Halo typically launches between September and November. This won't change.

Are you talking about Phil Harrison? He left MS a couple years ago......

I doubt those 4chan rumors. I thought the head of Team Ninja dislikes MS for some reason?

Now maybe MS would team with Itagaki to make a spiritual successor that would be an original franchise. That would be very likely as I believe he still likes MS.

The MH thing is a dead giveaway the 4chan leak is fake. It's clearly just using rumors out there and molding them to present them in a slightly different manner.

An MH game has been rumored to be multiplat for a while now to appeal to the west. The leak just takes that and adds a BS fact on top that's impossible to disprove in most situations.

That's about as likely as the dumb Sony MH5 rumor.

A new Ninja Gaiden would be pretty sick. However, I don't see that happening at all. Still hyped for E3. Only 1 fucking week!!!! Shit is gonna get crazy on here! :D

Obsidian comments on their leaked title:

"Our early attempts at Project Uranus went through many iterations. Unfortunately, preparations A through G were complete failures. But now, we are finally ready to implement... Preparation H! Please enjoy."

I can't wait.

A BUNCH of MAJOR announcements!

Looks like Mod support is definitely coming to uwp and xbox.

Short story:
Like I posted in a post before, there is now an AppMods folder in the xbox filesystem (seen in the file explorer app)

So I needed to port a win32 application to uwp, and had to take a look at which capability I should declare (capabilities is the way Ms allows uwp apps to break free from the sandbox limitations. Some are fairly minimum permissions, but some allow deeper system access, and thus either requires permission to be able to be deployed to the store and some can't be deployed to the store at all)

And now there's this new capability added:

All App Mods
The allAppMods capability allows an app to access the AppMods folder for all apps. Mod Management utilities use allAppMods to manage mods outside of the game or app that consume them.

Anyone may request access to this capability for store submission.

If I understood correctly, Ms should be adding apis and more storage for games and apps to handle mods, instead of handling them internally on their file system (probably what made the 2GB limit on Fallout 4). By placing mods on a separated system folder, one would assume there are no more size limits except of the physical storage limit itself.

And, this capability is for allowing access to this folder and its mods for 3rd party applications, likely, if a game supports mods using the apis 3rd party mods managers could possibily allow downloading mods without opening the game.

Ps: This would be likely only for games that allows modding in the first place, like the aforementioned Fallout 4, unsanctioned mods are already a reality in uwp though (see: this for more details, this also explains why people thought that injection mods didn't worked. Turns out they do, uwp apps just require a different way of acquiring the running app other than grabbing the window)

Another thing that I remembered from build and users should appreciate: Ms should add soon capabilities for Apps to declare an executable name (like if I want to name my game as lukasGame.exe), so store apps can be launched via command tools, scripts and so on, and should be easier to add them to steam as well.

There's something that could have done about it, delay it. And just like you think TF2 deal would involved time periods where CoD isn't expected, MS could have made the demand the period where UC4 is expected and I bet that was the case.

Sure published the game, but their are obviously caveats. It's crazy that your argument has shifted from MS had no say in the matter with regards to TF but could do whatever they want with TR.

My arguemnt hasn't shifted at all, I still think MS wouldn't have say on it, however in previous posts I'm arguing your hypothetical scenario in good faith: If MS would have saying in Titanfall release, then they definitely would have similar power of negotiation in RoTTR deal.

Likely in part due to the fact that they don't cannibize their own portfolio. Your saying that had they had TF2 they would have put it up against COD, BF, and Gears.
Other, games were crushed. Much like how TF2 ended up getting crushed.

Your argument falls flat when you remember MS is doing exactly this and with exception 1st holiday, all their games suffered from it... yet they continue doing it this year, and probably the next year too.

The 'juggernaut' that released in the spring...
it also didn't rival H5 in sales.

Titanfall sold 7 million, and Halo 5 at best is 8M now, that's falls into "rival" to me.
Also big seller in Spring is very likely to be big seller in any other period, probably even bigger seller in a Holiday period (I assume this why most publisher love to have their big games in Fall). EA went with the unfortunate release date with assumption that similar success to the previous one is guaranteed, and I have no doubt MS would have felt the same.

Now, assuming MS was told by Respawn that they can deliver the game in October 2016, What's the likely scenario? MS does release it in October? Or they would be "Nah, have unnecessary 4-5 more months, it will cost us but historical data and whatnot"

It's possible Gears would get moved instead, but it makes more sense to have the lone TPS in the window, than to sandwhich a newer franchise between two FPS giants.

For MS it doesn't, the more big fall games the better.

Halo typically launches between September and November. This won't change.

MS launches all their big games in September and November. Titanfall 2 was to be a big game (before the beta) so...

This would be awesome. FH3, FM7 with mods would be insane

Had to lol at Project Uranus. I just picture this person sitting in front of a PC somewhere trying to come up with fake names and just giving up and writing that shit down.

I also don't believe Jez and his "bunch of major announcements" back pedalling.

He did mention Ori as a possibility. But "major announcements" means shit, it could be a bunch of multiplats for all we know, or even not games at all.

That is possible. I mean Ori was loved so a sequel or new IP from this studio can be considered major I think. And yep, third party stuff could fall under that too.

I asked him about that on twitter and he said:

So I guess the article is only about known and public stuff.

Hmmm interesting. Well let the waiting game begin. Not too long now and to prevent the whole thing being spoiled I'm taking a break from here and Reddit until after MS's show. We always look forward to this time of year and it's a shame to get some leaker to spoil it.

Is no one wanting to point out if the 4Chan rumour is real then ntkrnl is cheating on us with that board?

What did we do to you, ntktnl? What did we do?

it's not real

Wut?

Jez has been spot on with his info in the past..so I see no need to start doubting him or calling him out.

Yeah he's good people for sure.

I wish that 4chan stuff was real though. I'd love for Ninja Gaiden to come back, it's been a while. But just like the SC speculation I just don't see it happening. MS seems more interested in Games as a service now and from the looks of it not really looking for those deals similar to DR3 and SO. We will see though.

Microsoft getting the marketing deals for borderlands and nba2k don't seem like a stretch. If they really don't have fifa anymore I can see them picking up 2k. Also Ninja Gaiden doesn't seem like a stretch either. I don't think Phil Spencer visited Japan just to play in their arcades or something.
