Oh shit yea, Microsoft still have Rare as a studio.
There may be hope yet, for new IPs and such.

interesting.

So the mode that is playable offline is more akin to Crackdown 1 (can be played solo or online with friends)

And the cloud destruction mode is MP only? Still seems like there is a "campaign" to play through for this mode because all the marketing we've seen showed a group of agents trying to take down a network of criminals.

They really didnt show alot yet really. We saw some tech demo's of how the destruction worked and abit of a wip footage. But thats it. Dont think we really saw any specific game modes yet.

It's gonna leak like hours before hand. Luckily I'll be asleep then!

Same here. Will be awake at 5am to catch the press E3 shows then settling down with a pack of smokes, pot of coffee and let the shows unveil.

Thinking about it, E3 is my annual holiday. Relaxing and watching then getting to see the reactions online. Big thing is to not let the online reaction change what I think about a game or feature. Every year since this generation begin, it has been strange to watch the popularity swing to Sony but better to see it being earned. Now this year I think will be MS try to bring it back their way. How, I am not sure but I look forward to seeing it.

Also, biggest pet peeve is that Australian cost is never mentioned. We love our consoles but we have to wait hours for the Australian offices to wake up and post the prices online at EB Games or on Kotaku.

I just want Splinter Cell Conviction and Blacklist, Max Payne 3, Fable Anniversary, and LA Noire from the back compat program at E3.
Das it, please Phil.

This happened with Rare Replay lol, something like 30 min before the conference started it leaked

Although what people didn't know it was gonna be BC games

Yeah I remember that. Most of E3 2016 leaked like a few hours before hand too. But didn't people have API access last year too?

Yea MS fucked up and put all their E3 conference essentially public. Since then they have locked everything down I believe so it shouldn't happen again thsi year

Mention this every year, but really hoping that one day Microsoft will lean on mod-support to bolster their games. With the new ground Bethesda's made in bringing mod-support to consoles, and MS merging their Xbox and PC stores through 'Play Anywhere', an "Xbox Mod Workshop" would be incredible, and something that unlike their other two big competitors, they'd be well-equipped to pull-off.

It would also ameliorate many concerns people have with both the Windows Store, and the Xbox-PC unification. Mod-support would have people actively engaging with the store, and on a recurring basis too. And it would be a huge feather in the cap from Xbox owners -would really embolden the idea that Scorpio is a PC lite.

Just think of the possibilities:

Sea of Thieves with effectively infinite custom quests, new areas, weapons, etc.

Crackdown 4 with a constant influx of bizarre weapons, vehicles, playspaces and playspaces.

Hell, these all run on Unreal Engine 4 too, as do most of MS games now that it's raised like Gears, DR4 (and Fable Legends + Scalebound lol). Implement it into your UE4 Xbox dev tools.

Would be so good.

It would be, but mod support for online games is quite a bit different to mod support for single player offline games, right? Probably need some strong regulation.

The console itself. I can't remember a recent product that wasn't leaked.

Perhaps Surface Studio?

Hmmm well, that wouldn't be as bad as any real game leaks but still I'd rather have that all during the show. I think mid next week I'll take a break from here. And Reddit. :)

I know one of the ways this was done has been adjusted so you can't do it anymore. It was how the 1S was leaked before last year.

When was it adjusted. The Surface Pro and Surface Laptop were both leaked and that was recent.

It was around like last July/August time I think. It was how a lot of the games got leaked early as well.

This was for Xbox related leaks, not for surface etc. They were probably internal?

Listening to Gamertag Radio's interview with Brenden from PlayerUnknown (Battlegrounds)... He said he's very busy leading up to E3... Including a visit to Seattle right before.

My theory of a shadow drop during conference still stands.

Path of Exile 3.0 beta starts next week, too
Could see some (more) footage of that game also

Pretty much in the "xbox is not only bringing console games to pc, but also pc games to console" segment :D

Halo: subtitle is not technically halo 6. They said when they added guardians to 5 they wanted to remove the numbers from the series. I'm still hopeful we see halo "6".

Well, they didn't say Halo 6 either.

The full quote is, "we'll have a little something at E3 but it's not related to the next major entry in the franchise".

They might just save a new Halo announcement for Gamescom. Closer to Scorpio launch too, so that should generate some extra buzz.

343 has been as direct as they can be.

They have absolutely no need or merit to spin their grammatically just so they can do a "gotcha, we lied!" at E3. They have no reason to say anything at all if they legitimately plan to announce the next big Halo there.

All this shows is that Phil wants to live up to the claims he said of shortening the announce-to-release lead-up time. Forza, Halo, Gears are established franchises that can do that short of a cycle and Forza already is, so this is imo, Halo's turn to become a short-cycle franchise instead of the previous 18 month approach.

Not having Halo 6 just reeks of confidence. People say Xbox won't have anything but if that were the case they would announce Halo 6. I bet they have so many new games they simply don't have time for Halo 6

That seems unlikely to me. They'll probably just take more time per game because they don't have a lotta new to show IMO. I hope to be proven wrong off course but my guess is headlines for Crackdown 3, State of Decay 2, Forza 7, Sea of Thieves and a bunch of third-party games and indie games.

I'd agree, however having a beta really early for Halo 5 was a great thing, and I'm sure they'll do something like that again. They won't announce the game at E3, but certainly will before the end of the year.

Same.

I'm expecting Halo (6) to be announced in March or something with a big TV ad, first gameplay at E3, then release in Oct/Nov.
Possible, but if they are going to do a beta and still release the final game October or November of next year, that doesn't leave much time to actually make any meaningful changes. Of course, there has been no mention of a beta and no actual release date info teased.

That's my thinking too. If Halo 6 is coming out Q4 next year, there's almost no way they don't announce it before the end of this year imo, and especially if there is going to be a beta.
