Staying true to him and also balancing him seems like some interesting thing.
He basically has a one hit KO punch and super speed, defense and health. It's becoming more impossible balancing him.

It's not that he has a one hit Ko punch, he's just so fucking strong that everything dies in one hit. The running theme is that he's bored as fuck cause nothing is a challenge

I hope the manga/anime progresses long enough where he brings out his ''serious series'' on the regular.
They could use his boredom as a mechanic where he gives up and goes to play some videogames.

I cant believe Death Note is so popular and recommended.

I would recommend it and Cowboy Bebop and have several times to people new to anime way before KLK.
It's not that KLK is bad but that you need to have seen some anime first to know what you are getting yourself into.

Just traded a Nintendo Entertainment System for this.

I've been using a PS3 stick for PC, so I'm gonna play some PS3 fighters... Any console or PS3 exclusive fighters to try out?

I've already got Jojo's ASB

Oh wow. I didn't know the top had those lines. Weird.

Is there many fighters that are PS3/XB360 only that didn't make it to PC?

You can hit up Guilty Gear Xrd now if you don't have a PS4. :D

Battle Fantasia, Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax and Persona 4 Arena

It'll likely end with Garou arc. Unless this is a weekly series ongoing like DBZ, Gintama, Naruto, etc. Then I can see whacky hijinks filler EPs.

Xrd and UMVC3 are on my list

PC has GGPO to play certain games, but you also have access to Marvel vs Capcom 2, Street Fighter 3 Third Strike, and a TON of other PS Plus Store fighters available to play. Garou MOTW should be ont here too, and a ton of older KoF games.

Um. Newer product wise you probably have run through it all with UNIEL, Xrd, UMVC3... PC had Injustice, MK9, SF4, KoF13, and other big profile fighters.

My cousin has tried to get me into Hunter X Hunter numerous times and it's put me to sleep every time. I hate the art style and the few episodes I saw seemed very trope-ish.

What's it saying?

That comment was kinda stupid. I'm sure a lot of Japanese works have "something" to say, but I haven't seen or heard of anything much that resonates with my western sensibilities outside Kojima games. The reason for that is obvious: the dude has a fetish for western culture.

Also, I suspect that the island is so small and insular that it doesn't often have much of a global perspective and that's reflected in much of its storytelling.

I felt the same way when I started, but I figured okay, I'll suck up these tropes (I'm never excited by ingenue prodigy MCs) since I barely watch anime anyways, so I'll just tolerate it and see where it goes. I'm really glad I stuck with it. it's one of the only anime I've watched in the past, like, decade.

hxh takes a little while to get going, but the use of tropes, along with plenty of other elements, is ultimately masterful.

I use Fightcade a lot, mostly to play Third Strike. I didn't get the PS3 solely for fighting games but Xrd and Jojo were big reasons for me.

And Persona 5.

The pain.

What?

Oh and to those that asked:

I've watched Cowboy Bebop and Dragon Ball Z to completion. I also think Champloo, but I don't care for it much.

Bebop is one of my favorite things ever, though.

Kimo, I wanna recommend Ping Pong, I think that might hit the spot for you. that's probably my favorite anime--I actually loved HxH and checked out some more recommendations from friends and this was by far the most emotionally relevant

Didn't care for Champloo too much myself. Been meaning to watch Bebop

What?

Why not a PS4? Persona 5 will be on it. Plenty of new fighters with active scenes on it, and more to come.

I mean yeah PS3 is cheaper sure, but PS4 would've let you hit up Xrd too, MKX, Persona 5, and a slew of other games on the horizon like Street Fighter 5.

Yeah, I think they just did one for the home video release. I haven't heard it, no idea if it's good or not.

I think anyone who's into competitive sports -- or even fighting games -- will click with Ping-Pong. Plus, it's super stylish.

Did you ever watch Full Metal Alchemist, Outlaw Star, or Trigun?

Trigun and Outlaw Star have a lot of good callings to Cowboy Bebop. Outlaw Star is about bounty hunting in space. Likable lead character too.

Trigun is terrific as well. Great fights, characters, story, etc.

Full Metal Alchemist, while not in the vein of the type of action Bebop is, is a fantastic anime that often gets placed in top 10 best animes of all time when giant 50+ longs lists get created.

One of those 3 would probably be up your alley.

yeah, the sports hook is great. the vibes just really worked for me--literary, punk, surreal.

Slayer of Combofiends

Marvel not being on PC stings everyday.

Yah it does, don't know when its coming out though. Probably has already. I'd really recommend you see it in Japanese. You can't compare the godlike Cowboy Bebop dub to everything else. Sometimes you just gotta watch it in its native language.

Anyone else hype for the Smash Direct? :-D

Outlaw Star was a mediocre show with a "WTF is this?" ending. Trigun is good, though. I should watch FMA sometime.

Ping pong is rad. I love masaaki yuasa all of his other stuff like tatami galaxy, kaiba and kememozume are great too

He is totally unique which is so rare in anime atm.

I'll watch Ping Pong this weekend.

Full Metal Alchemist I feel I should like a ton, but every time I've seen it, it's given off this weird, inexplicable vibe I just couldn't shake. It's been on my bucket list forever. I can't say I'll ever get to it, for certain, though, due to time.

Outlaw Star I liked when it ran on CN, but it didn't age well for me.

Vash the Stampede represents everything I hate about anime (not really). Character is just lame as fuck. I get the character's shtick, but I hate it.

You'd probably get more mileage then from Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood over original FMA.

May get it off your bucket list.
