COMICS! |OT| June 2015. Alright fanboys, it's time to pick a side once and for all.

Working my way through Adam: Legend of the Blue Marvel.

Fuckballs, terrible art, horrendous designs, and dear lord what a shit sandwich of an origin story. And i thought Parker had it rough.

Would like to see marvel re-do the whole thing with better art. Still insanely relevant, given current race problems.

A movie adaption would also be terrific. Right after Black Panther. Just to drive the point home.

This is making Brashear's dialogue with BP even more interesting, fwiw. Tchalla giving him lip, oh gods.

I really hope Fuckballs is someone new that can team up with Goldballs and non-spikey Speedball.

How odd. Next week DC are putting out the Batgirl of Burnside HC and TP on the same day. Are they experimenting?

You're in luck, all those DC books don't come out until next week. At least, according to ComicList they don't.

This week, I think I'm gonna skip Action Comics; need to get up to date on the Superman material first. So:

-Bizarro #1
-Omega Men #1
-Bat Mite #1 (Though this one is getting just the one issue to see if the trades are gonna be worth it)

Heavy week by my standards.

Huh, that is strange. I'll pick it up to support these shenanigans. This is the Batgirl with the bad writing and amazing art right?

They're referencing that in Mighty Avengers, so I'm going to pull up a summary. What comic does that spat between T'Challa and Brashear happen in, anyway? I'm guessing you mean the one linked in the SW thread. Reed and Spectrum are there for it.

Last Days of Captain America and The Mighty Avengers #8.

Way things are going, Brashear has enough cred to tell absolutely anyone and everyone to get bent. Especially Steve Rogers.

...well, maybe not the muties.

Ah, cool. I hope the first trade of that is out. I'm for sure gonna be done with Mighty Avengers like tomorrow, haha.

This is my first time reading anything with Brashear, but it seems like it's a bit odd he's not in on the Illuminati? He mentions right off the bat he's not big on how Stark does things though, so no real surprise, I suppose.

All-New X-Men 41
Amazing Spider-Man Renew Your Voes 1
Armor Wars 1
Giant-Sized Little Marvel AvX 1
Groot 1
Master of Kung Fu 2
Secret Wars 3
Secret Wars: Battleworld 2
Unbeatable Squirrel Girl 6
X-tinction Agenda 1
Years of Future Past 1

Gonna watch for impressions of all the new DC books, I expect I'll pick up one or two

Illuminati was created in 2005.

Brashear was created in 2008.

But yes, in universe, it makes no sense whatsoever.

Shiiiiit, I'm just gonna get SW #3, Future Imperfect #1, maaaaaybe X-Stinction Agenda #1, and a shit ton of Cap/Mighty Avengers.

Don't wanna spend a fortune on a single week and I'm not that great at following too many plots at once anyways.

One More Day is probably just there to bridge the gap to Renew Your Vows, since everything else correlates to a Secret Wars Tie-In.

So I just learned that the entire reason spiderpeople can stick to walls is because they can manipulate the cohesive and adhesive forces of objects they touch.

... this is like speedforce for sticking to thing. Wow, that is dumb.

Ya know, like spiders do.

Twix own us all now.

My comic list:

Darth Vader #6
Princess Leia #4
Renew Your Vows #1
Secret Wars #3
Star Wars #6

I'll probably pick up some more Secret Wars tie-ins if the feedback's good.

Convergence Superboy was fantastic. Really captured Kon in a way I appreciated. Realizing that he had to take the L against Kingdom Come Superman and let go of his pride was a great resolution. One last cocky comment that it'd take three hits to render him unconscious was a nice touch. Spoilers: it took one, lol.

my ideal new runaways series would be one with none of the original cast, at least not in starring, or interpretations of established characters.

But a book filled with individual characters created by different writers with the common theme of them each running away from something. Not necessarily the same thing.
