Yeah, I had way fewer issues with that one. Jason at one point says that the video game Street Fighter is a "button masher," which was irksome. But the moment where June says "How do you know all these character names?" was damn funny.
 
Damn, 64,000 viewers for the MKX exhibition. What did Final Round USF4 Top 8 get?

Most it got was 59k, most NCR got was 62k. I think the fact that it's a brand new game in the series gave it a pretty big boost. Can't wait to see how SFV does whenever it comes out next year.

Worth noting it's a pre release stream of a new game with a large casual fanbase that was more heavily marketed and broadcasted on a larger esports netweork.

The marketing is stupid real. My dad saw a commercial and had friends talking about it so he bought me a copy because he knows I like fighting games. This is the first super visible one to come out this gen, and in awhile for that part.
 
Might help that it's at a reasonable time for EU/UK too. It's late over here but it's not 4 am or anything, as is usual for SF4 finals. They're always last.

Well, MK9 was pretty much an 8-button game with the inclusion of tag and switching stance.

Two punches, two kicks, block, grab, tag and switch stance. Tag and stance switching are difficult to get right if you don't have a dedicated button.

If you need eight buttons, I am fucked because I'm in the middle of making my stick six buttons but it seems like six buttons is enough.

Those are all shortcuts, though, right? Grab, tag, and stance can all be done through button combinations, I thought.

Somebody I know working on an MKX cabinet asked an NRS guy whether the old X layout they used for the PDP sticks would work with MKX. They responded with yes, so take that as you will.

Doubt it. The game is super new so a lot of casuals are watching this exhibition.

This happened in Halo. They had an exhbition for their league that ESL does, and it had about 50-60k views. When regular tournaments happened, they only had about 7k for most of the tournament, sometimes 13k max.

Does the version of the Hitbox that comes with the PC360+ board work with that hack that lets you soft reset the controller every 8 minutes so you can play on PS4?

great interview between john choi and seth killian. learning about the sf scene in a period of time where i was still wearing diapers is so insightful. they must still feel surreal that the game that they've played for over 20 years have grown from just playing for bragging rights to some playing it as a full-time job.
 
MKX is a 5 button game at a minimum.

4 attack buttons and block. Throw can be done with 1+3, stance flip with 3+4, interactable with 1+2 and X-Ray with block+3+4.

Holy crap am I hyped for MKX now. That looked so fast out there and brutalities are just out of nowhere sometimes. It was awesome when the arrow from Kung Jin that was just a safe distance way to wipe out magic pixel went through Jax and tore his heart out!

Loving the pressure in the game. Run makes a huge difference. Delayed wakeups, armored wakeups costing meter, and breakers wiping out your stamina meter that is needed for backdashing and runs is reaaaaaally good. Just so much to do. I'm already seeing a lot of corner forcing by doing as much run up as possible in combos and i'm also seeing some get out of corner strats/counter strats. I about shit myself when Sonicfox was just relentlessly pinning MIT into the corner and got comboed by MIT only to Breaker the second they were back over the corner to put him back in there and converted it into another knockdown! Game is looking like a footsie wonderland for me to enjoy with all that to toy with.
