Persona News Stream 2015 Discussion Thread (Read Post #132)

But spoilers won't be marked, so just don't go into a thread about the game when you still want to play it.
About what game? Persona 5? Because going into a thread about Persona 5 shouldn't lead to unmarked spoilers for Persona 3 when each game has its own characters and storyline. I had no intentions of spoiling P3 all I did was go into a P5 thread with the intention of being spoiled what will probably be the very beginning of the game, general look, and starting characters at most. Not the ending of a different game. Its not even remotely the same.

Not to defend the people who posted the spoilers or anything but the game is over seven years old at this point. Besides, it's more about the journey than the destination.
Totally agreed. I was spoiled of the P3 AND P4 ending but instead they made me curious to play both games. And I was not disappointed. It is indeed the journey.

To be fair, this isn't (solely) a Persona 5 thread. On the news stream itself, they spoiled the entirety of Persona 4 (twice), and they spoiled significant parts of Persona 3 as well.

pls make MC's signature persona Mara or a Mara derivative

"What a dick."

Oh this would be hilarious.

Same here. That P3 Spoiler was certainly interesting thats why i played that game immediately after hearing the spoiler.

The games are somewhat disconnected but themes/some cameos have carried over into spinoffs and other parts of the series. One of the extra content fights for P4G has what could be considered spoilers for P3. Elizabeth's ending in Persona 4 Arena has large spoilers as well. It's always a risk when discussing or talking about sequels/spinoffs, especially since previous games may be brought up as points of comparisons.

It doesn't matter how old it is or if a thread is full of fans, theres always people who haven't played a game, even if its 30+ years old spoilers should be marked, especially of the ending.
I didn't play P3 til last year so I had the ending spoiled for me as well. Didn't really detract from the experience. It actually made the ending a lot better since you'd have to play the answer to know what happened.

Damn. I want a Mara doll. Can you buy these online anywhere?

No, but you can make one yourself. The 12th PSC episode explains how to make them. It's in Japanese, but you should get the gist of it from just watching the video if you really want one.

Being fair, having this epiphanies in the middle of life threatening borderline delirious situations are a little hard to follow in the day on day life basis. Is already hard not to fall in old habits even without that...

Didn't stop them from having their epiphanies in the dungeons, lol. Acceptance came in the S.links though.

While this is true, that same distinction is what likely played a role in her bringing down the vibe of the more happy-go-lucky P4 S. link cast.

Even Hisano had a melancholy dignity to her, Yumi....not so much.

I like Yumi over Ayane, but that's honestly because Ayane's design feels moreso out of place, even as a younger student.

Probably but that's probably one of the reasons why I like the P3 cast and their S.Links more. They like they're actually exploring the character rather than simply connecting the dots for us. Of course, that's because of how P3 vs P4 is structured but still, it's a little frustrating.

I really hope that P5 takes that cue from P3 and decouples character development and the main story so they aren't set pieces to move everything along. Or at the very least, try and explore different things in the char's private time if they continue with it.

67 hours in Persona 4: Golden, my first Persona game, decide to read through this thread and join the hype train for Persona 5.

Thread is completely filled with unmarked Persona 3 spoilers about the ending.

Well...thanks for ruinng the ending for me. :/

Now I'll go in knowing PERSONA 3 ENDING SPOILERS:
the main characters dies/gets trapped. I mean really with these spoilers? Really?
Same thing happened to me in the stream of 2013.

I can see your point in being frustrated, since people mainly look out for this stream/thread because of P5 and the newcomers to the series who would like to know about it come here just to find out people discussing P3 ending when there isn't a spoiler warning in the thread. (But even then, the stream isn't fair in that regard since it spoiled all of P4's story, showed of the second movie of P3 which had lotsa spoilers and Ultimax had some spoilers as well).

It's kinda naive to think people wouldn't discuss P3 and P4 in this thread. I mean it's not a dedicated P5 thread in the first place and there was plenty of P3&4 stuff shown during the stream.

Anyway, you don't have to be frustrated. The Persona games are really about the journey, not the final destination. The spoiler shouldn't ruin the game for you in the slightest.

Re-playing Catherine while waiting for the P5 reveal.

The Stray Sheep NEEDS to be in P5!!

I don't think the party members are old enough to go in there lol

I'd love a similar place for party members to hang out and flesh out their personalities, as well as making plans, a bit like Junes cafe' but with the detail and importance of Stray Sheep.

Here we go again. A reminder of what Persona 4: Dancing All Night's new producer and director said when they revealed the TGS 2014 trailer:
For this trailer, we shared a new arrangement and characters, but next time we plan to deliver more in-depth content. Thank you very much for your patience.

Additionally, we don't really know how separated P5 will be from the previous games. That's just an assumption you've made WiiRevolution. They are separate stories but they all take place within the same continuity. And we have people trying to connect the dots using the rules and conventions from previous games.

They're reporting the P4D theme once again........ lmao they don't give af anymore

Nah... I was actually reminded earlier how this is actually more substantial, as of yet, compared to the same time frame for the November 24, 2013 event, which lasted for 72 hours. That also had periodic events (though we weren't told what they were beforehand, like now), and none of them were new news. They were just recap trailers, old trailers from the games released until that point, concert footage, anime footage, Marie reading poems, and then the occasional Midnight Channel tease.

At least this time, we got something new through the P4D opening theme.

Homestretch.

I've been waiting for this.

True, and there is still a 2015 banner. Oh yeah and to be fair, wasn't the stream leading up to the Persona Stalker Club show advertised as a recap of the Persona franchise?

I think it was something like that, yeah. They said they would provide content suitable for newcomers to the series, to get them accustomed to it.

Next event in 49 minutes.

So what's the next event? Persona 5 or are we still. Few hours away for that?

Don't expect any real announcement for another 4 hours, because that's when the concert ends. But there'll be live festivities on the stream some time soon as the concert starts up, to keep fans at home busy. It'll probably be dumb. :P

Man, what the hell is Teddie's Final Countdown?

I mean, it's a countdown.

And it's final.

The way is called sounds like something big is about to happen.

But the host is fucking Teddie and we're talking about Atlus here. So I don't know what to believe :P

Just the countdown before the Persona Stalker Club will start. I wonder if we'll learn anything new during PSC, but I doubt it. The "?????" event is where the fun begins.
