There's at least some DLC and amiibo stuff that needs to be revealed. There are also not that many unreleased eshop titles announced and the 3DS could use another title or two in between now and E3.

Also the japanese direct won't have news about the N3DS or monster hunter, so they have to announce some stuff there, even if it's for the japanese market only (for now).

I could see either AC or SF as you say. SF is more likely given it's been referenced since E3 but who knows. I figure the majority of the stream will be dedicated to MM3D, Yoshi's WW, Kirby and Steam though.

A new game for the 3DS is the biggest announcement I honestly believe may happen. And I think it will be Metroid.

They'll save Wii U game announcements for the E3 direct.

I don't think there are. Twitter might be a good app to use through following @NeogafNewThreads or other gaming journalist websites. Tech websites usually cover the tech events with liveblogs, but for gaming events it's rare.

I'm personally expecting a tame direct, at most I think the biggest thing we might see is that Mario Maker will have different playable characters, and in my wildest dreams those characters would be borrowed from both Mario games and Nintendo games to coincide with the recent series mashing they've done and NES Remix.

They said at E3 2012 that it's officially possible and that no games were planned to use it.

And they never because it makes no sense with how the Wii U is performing and how disliked the GamePad is overall. And with how much it would cost to buy another one.

Just think for a second then realize how dumb this is. Then accept it's not happening and stop thinking logn hinted at dual gamepads when he was obviously hinting at the N3DS happening in February which everyone and their grandma already knew.
