I'm honestly surprised that either Capcom can't greenlight a sequel to one of their biggest series. So basically anything that needs a HD-era budget that isn't Resident Evil is screwed without a moneyhat? (I do have to admit, the teaser trailer was done well, though.)

I kind of wonder what Sony's attitude is toward JP console developers now, between this and basically forcing everyone off of the PS3 (as most of the recent JP game announcements have been Vita/PS4).

How is Sony forcing anyone? Dragon Quest Heroes, which is the biggest PS4 game to be released, is still cross gen. Oh and Yakuza Zero is cross gen too.

Cock Strain, Lifetime Warranty
Given that SFIV came out on all platforms under the sun (sans Vita) i don't anticipate the SFV exclusivity deal will last more than a hot minute

You think a developer like Falcom or Nippon Ichi would willingly develop for a platform that pretty much has no userbase in Japan? Heck, even Persona 5 was originally announced as a PS3 game and then ends up having a PS4 version announced a year later -- it wouldn't surprise me if the PS4 version was not originally planned at all.

Forcing is probably the wrong word to use, but I get the impression that they are strongly encouraging developers to transition now, in an effort to avoid the long-ass transition from the previous generation (they were still producing PS2 games in Japan until what, 2010?).

Persona 5 being on the PS4 too is actually a good business move for Atlus, since by the time it's released the PS3 will be basically dead in the Western markets, while the PS4 will be selling like hot cakes.

I think both Nippon Ichi and Falcom know that their fanbase is constituted of hardcore gamers that are going to buy a PS4 sooner or later and most of them are already on the Vita, which is the otaku machine.

yeah, its not coming out today

The stage looks pretty cyberpunk.

I was hoping for some aged cast, not more of the same. It's too early to know with any certainty if these are final character models or just place holder so I won't rage just yet :p

Chun-li looks great. Huge improvement over SFIV. Ryu is "eh". I think we need to see more before judging.

lol, I just got an xbox and thats exactly how I feel.

Definitely not buying a stick for xbo now.
You can always buy it for GG Xrd... ;-D

So right now fighting games this gen look like this, right?

PS4:
Injustice
SFV
GG Xrd

XBone:
KI

If you're including Injustice, then SG is PS4 as well. DOA5 is both.

Lowest of keys, I hope they do something akin MKX with the different forms
FOH GEMS FOH
.

Imagine having a choice of:

SF2 style Ryu - cancelable sweep, red fireball w/ knockdown, more turtle based

SF3 style Ryu - Jouden special, parry ability, the universal overhead, ex attacks

SF4 style Ryu - Stronger combos/More link based, ex attacks etc

SF Alpha Ryu - Alpha counters, air blocking, chains and all that.

Evil Ryu?

Change up their looks to go with the way they played too.

Don't make them separate characters either.

Capcom gotta pay me for all this geniusness.

What I didn't know about SF5 was the PC version. Actually almost nobody knew about it and that's soooo great. I hope their goal is to place themselves as the LoL/Leader of fighting games on PC (pure speculation) and from what I heard, they could manage it very well.

Ah, right. Have any announcements about T7 been made? I'll assume it will be multiplatform unless someone says otherwise.

So:

PS4:
Skullgirls
DOA5
SFV
Injustice
GG Xrd
T7

XBone:
DOA5
KI
T7

T7 is only filed under Arcade at the moment, I think. Along with Pokken. Wii U has Smash and TT2.
