PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4/PSP) | February 2014

Had some time and tried to finish off Everybody's Tennis from my backlog, really need some space on my Vita.
Kind of surprised how long the story mode is, still far away from finishing it, I think.
Funny thing is there is no information regarding the campaigns length on the whole internet, unbelievable. At least I learned that all question marks are story characters and not special unlocks.

The gameplay is pretty good but I just got a little bit annoyed by the story mode.

What is with the crazy difficulty spike at Lani? I breezed through the game before and she really handed my ass to me. At first I thought it was part of the story because nothing worked anymore, my character lost stamina really fast and Lani hit every ball perfectly.
Still, I finally won against her after I learned to play better with another character, which does speak for the gameplay. I only wish they hadn't changed the difficulty so abruptly.

But a location earlier the game starts to demand so many doubles matches from you and the AI is really stupid :/ It is so rage inducing when you lose because they play like the biggest egoist on earth or miss easy hits.

Also, the story is too cheesy and could have been better.

And I have to say the chinese court has to be the dumbest thing I have seen. Those stupid fireworks right on the sides which only get hit by my team...

In the end, I am nowhere near finishing the game and I wish I had spend the time with Danganronpa or Ys.

Still, a successor for the Vita would be nice, the gameplay is very good.

PS: why is the music on the japanese court so awesome?

Aaand Dave is banned. Don't do anything stupid, guys.

The thing is, he is nearly always right. That game does look fugly.

like that it doesn't take itself so seriously.

That indeed

yeah, but how do we even know that's going to be the case?

am i doing this right?

I wasn't complaining about getting Digital/Retail games. I was complaining about Sony not saying anything about the Vita version of Dead Nation they announced 7 months ago :l

i know i was just adding to the confusion by mentioning something off-topic, like the previous poster who possibly meant to quote someone else.

I can't get in to a game of Killzone Mercenary. It keeps saying "you were kicked due to a loss of connectivity". Been a while since I've tried to play but it used to be fine. My internet connection is good by the way and I have no issues with any other game. Something they've done with the latest patch must be causing this. Pretty frustrating as I was really looking forward to trying out the new maps. Anyone else having this issue?

Since psn isn't going to sell FF X/X-2 separately, I ordered the retail version so I can just sell or trade X. Why would anyone want the first one?

I like you. :D

Borderlands 2 Vita is launching in a few weeks and we still haven't seen video nor do we know if any of the DLC is cross buy, if the games are cross save, or what's even included in the VIta version.

SCEA. C'mon, Flandy.

"You can shoot and loot through Pandora with up to three of your PS Vita-toting friends via Infrastructure online play, and you can also cross save your progress with your PS3. As an added bonus, Borderlands 2 for PS Vita includes six downloadable content (DLC) packs: Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate’s Booty, Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage, Psycho Character Class, Mechromancer Character Class, Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 1 and the Collector’s Edition Pack."

Think I heard it's missing one of the DLCs?

Sounds like it's missing at least one of the main campaign dlcs (Tiny Tina).

Y'know, I think I'm insulted by the Back to Origins leves in Legends. I was thinking about why they're even there... and then I realized the probable answer... since the game was designed for Wii U with Murfy and co-op in mind, they felt like they needed to add some non-murfy content for ps3/x360/pc... and so they just grabbed a chunk of the levels from Origins, loaded them into Legends, made a few tweaks here and there to fit them in and slapped them into the game as "BONUS" content.

This is low budget game designed to be profitable at low amount of copies sold.

All I never finished was the Origins level remakes. Think I did the first two worlds of them. That and the daily challenge trophies.

If I hadn't platinum'd Origins in a marathon already, I probably wouldn't have felt fatigue by the time I got to those.

I'm in the "Murphy levels were fine" camp... it's kinda cool that only WiiU and Vita offer that experience, and after it + LBPV I kinda dig touch-augmented platforming. Those are the only examples I have though... it could be done better or worse, respectively.

Yeah, I'm beginning to realize that. I was already in the camp that said Origins was better, but after 550+ teensies collected, I don't even feel like Legends is in the same league as Origins.

When I finished all the Murfy levels, I thought I'd enjoy it more, but then came the 8-bit land of the livid dead levels, which don't challenge you with skills but by making it hard to tell what's going on on-screen... maybe these levels aren't such a nightmare on a 42" screen, I don't know... but the level I quit trying in that painting is infuriating on Vita.

And you're insulted because...?

Because of the way they marketed it and the, as michaelius says, it was a a tactic to try to garner sales without really offering anything to the player.

If I can finish this platinum, I will be deleting the game and forgetting that I own it on this platform. I may choose to give it another shot on PC, where the Murfy levels will not frustrate me to no end with the absolutely inept AI.

Oh, they're not going to sell FFX-2 separately? Meh! Only was planning on buying X-2 digital on Vita since I enjoyed it more than X.

Everyone who buys the retail version of FFX/X-2HD gets a download code for X-2. You can probably find someone who is selling the code separately.

You never hear this much hate about Rayman Legends from owners of the Wii U version. I don't know if they're just more open about different styles of play or what, but it seems like all I ever hear is hate from owners of Vita version. I absolutely LOVED it. I understand if you don't care for the Murfy levels, but to just outright hate them and make them a point of contention for months astounds me. I thought it was great to have the Back to Origins levels there, too. It has like 80% of Rayman Origins, with the new art style and new twenties to collect, just outright included with the game. Its amazing to me! It gave me an excuse to replay those awesome levels, and they still felt a little fresh.

The non-Murfy levels (over 70% of the main campaign) are amazing, varied, and more open-ended than Origins. The music levels were genius and an absolute blast. The challenge mode gives you new ways to hone your platforming skills every day. The 28 Invasion stages give your skills the ultimate test, in short but outstanding bursts.

I LOVE THIS GAME. Its one of my favorite games ever, Murfy levels or not.

All the negativity about the Murphy levels turned me off from buying the Vita version. Now that I'm playing it on PS4 (friend let me borrow it) all I want is to play it on a Vita lol. Will pick it up down the line.

Don't let it turn you off - they do suck, but are bearable, and the new Legends levels really are great fun. I loved Origins, and whilst I think Legends is not as good, it is still a solid game, and the music levels are genius

The game is so inferior to Origins, I don't even know where to start. :P

And Wii U owners probably don't complain because the 43 people who bought it for Wii U actually play the local co-op with the Murfy levels so they don't have to deal with the shortbus Globox.

The music levels seem like they're just the equivalent of the Treasure chase levels to me. I don't get the "genius" part of it, I guess... sure, the music syncs up so if you get in the rhythm they're a bit easier and forgiving...
But when you'er talking about the music levels are you talking about the 5 or so that are well done or are you including the disaster that encompasses the 8-bit version of the levels?

Just picked up TWD S2 Season Pass + Super Motherload. Yay PS Plus! But now this means I have to choose between getting Master Reboot next week or Daylight in April. Hmmm...decisions, decisions.

Yeah, I'm sure it won't be so bad. Would rather have a few shitty levels and more comfortable controls than less shitty levels and a less enjoyable controller. DualShock 4 is great, but I prefer the Vita shoulder buttons and D-pad.

Also, I really wish this game didn't start off as a Wii U exclusive. I'm assuming the only reason Murphy is even in the game is because Ubisoft wanted to get use out of the tablet controller, but his presence really brings down the experience imo. There's honestly no point for him to be there except to make me mash circle.

Yes, so maybe genius was laying it on a bit thick, but I got a laugh out of the 5 good levels - not the 8-bit shit.

The lumines thread gave me a crazy thought, How difficult would it be to transition REZ HD or Child of Eden to the vita with optional touch screen controls?

Are you sure? Since someone on the sale thread commented that we will get *only* the specified version, which is the PS3.

On the US Blog they posted this:

Bonus! Thomas Was Alone and Lone Survivor: The Director’s Cut are Cross-Buy titles, so you’ll get both the PS3 and PS Vita versions of those games.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/02/27/preview-marchs-instant-game-collection/

As well, there is precedent for giving out both versions, they did so with Knytt Underground, Retro City Rampage and Hotline Miami. Unless of course, this varies from region to region. But if you have NA Plus I think it's pretty much guaranteed.

The only instance of a cross-buy game not being cross-buy that I know of is the Jak Trilogy HD in EU being cross-buy when it isn't in NA.

I don't recall a time when a game that had cross-buy ever had it disabled when it came to NA PS+.

Fuck the 8-bit Legends levels with a big, rusty mace. Obscuring my view with silly visual effects does not a challenging level make. Such a disappointment, getting 400 Teensies to open up a new world only to find it has one level. No wonder they had to pipe in 75% of Origins.

HAHAHA... yes... totally this... such a pain in my ass. I gave up on that desert one where everything just becomes blobs.

So I officially have a Vita :'). Have Tearaway with it. P4G still hasn't arrived yet from amazon :(. Will be looking to get Ys, Dangonrompa & FFX/ X-2 next month.
