Ouch. What did Velveteen do?
(Allegedly) groomed underage boys. There’s audio clips and a dick pic that he sent to people in DMs. Someone who knew him from his time on the Indy scene after Tough Enough also talked about being groomed by him when he was 16 and Dream was 19.

WWE yanked him off TV when the accusations broke but he came back after a little while. Around that time he had a match at a Takeover where the only audience was other performance centre wrestlers. Obviously with them being under WWE contracts they try and be as loud as they can to give the illusion of a real audience. But when Dream came out they were all totally silent, was very telling and awkward.

Watch Sakura Genesis in the afternoon and it was kinda expected with that one. Decent event overall and happy to see a Brit win the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship given Ospreay's past foolishness but I expect him keeping the title till the Wrestle Grand Slam events....that's my take!

With them lining up the Shingo then Okada matches I'd guess Shingo would be the Yokohama stadium show match and Okada the Tokyo dome one. I do wish they'd let Okada rest up though. His back is apparently fucked.

Edit: another gif from today's match

Does New Japan still have their mobile app? I figure that would be the easiest way to watch these matches on my TV.(From my iPad) Admittedly I'm probably hooking up my old PC to my TV and will watch them that way but I've been putting off matches until I set that up.

I think for tablets and phones you’d just stream them on your browser through their site. They don’t have a dedicated mobile app for it. I believe they do have apps for stuff like roku and firestick though.

watched the Beth Phoenix doc on the network. It was good. It fleshed out the early part of her story alot more. I had no clue she had an amateur wrestling background. And i didn't know that she basically got her foot in the door by going to an autograph signing at Wrestlemania Axxess. And handing Molly Holly a tape of her indy matches.

I hate to say this and may get a lot of flack, but Kenny Omega is a bad Main Event champion, compared to Roman Reigns. Not sure if Omega's appeal is due to his bad feud with John Moxley, he's just not very appealing to the mainstream. Maybe, Kenny needs to be having a bigger feud? Since it seems that Andrade is heading to AAA, a title match for the Mega Title between the 2 should at least put both Andrade and Kenny on notice to the mainstream.

Oh they'll accuse you of being a Jim Cornette guy :messenger_grinning:

I'd say it isn't a Kenny issue, it's that AEW doesn't really know how to book a main event singles heel yet. So much focus on tags and groups, Kennys biggest strength in NJPW was being the best wrestler in the world and being charasmatic, this version of him has him ducking guys, fighting jobbers, and cowering behind Callus and the Good Bros. I would guess this is because without those guys, it was gonna be hard to get him boo'd or disliked. There are also so few opponents for him that have been built to his level. Mox is a trash wrestler, so it's not like you're getting a 6* match out of him, you have to come down to his dumpster level of hardcore matches, after the Mox feud ends, who's next?

Like I said, they spend too much time on the groups and teams stuff when they could actually have one of the craziest main event scenes in the world with Kenny/Pentagon/Fenix/Pac/Moxley/MJF/Jericho as they build guys up who should be there or close like Archer and Miro. Turning Kenny was dumb, he needed a change, but he's not the cool collected heel of NJPW that was a dick but went out and won clean, he's just chickenshit heel #4 in a company that has too many heels as is.

You are right that Kenny needs a big feud, and Tony Khan dumbly believes that Moxley is that guy. If he was that guy WWE wouldn't have been fine with him leaving. Problem is nobody has been booked to be that guy, I think down the road they think Hangman will be that guy (I don't see it with him, but whatever). Covid and some other stuff has likely caused this run to turn out this way. They were so focused on the Forbidden Door and working with Impact and NJPW then building their own talent up more. If the focus was these outside endeavors they should have got Kenny a true main event rival....like Ibushi...or another go around with Okada, not Rich fucking Swann....

Andrade/Kenny could be interesting, but I'm just worried Andrade has been in WWE long enough to have picked up the bad WWE habits in the ring and the chemistry wouldn't be there right away. I would say if Andrade is only on a short term deal in AAA, getting their belt back working some dates then showing up in AEW would be huge for him.

I don't even watch Jim Cornette, but I would assume he's right then

Jim is never right, he's a relic of a long since past and just doesn't realize that booking like the 70s doesn't work anymore. He keeps an audience by hating everything and being crazy out of touch, along with sexist and likely racist, and clearly southern wrestling fans probably long for those days before them icky women were allowed on their shows. Screw all these new wrestlers with charisma, get me some Von Erich and a 80 year old to talk for them, that'll put butts in the seats.

Jim's thing is he can explain why he thinks something sucks. He does like some of AEW (he's a major MJF, Jungleboy, and Darby Allin fan) but he calls a lot of the AEW stuff stupid.(Like pointing out Mox is a garbage wrestler or that the inner circle got their revenge way too soon.) Oh and he's a major left wing guy to being borderline socialist/communist if you can believe it.

I enjoyed AEW last night. I think the TAY Conti match against Bunny was a highlight. Tay is just a lot of fun to watch.

The Inner Circle promo was excellent as well. Weird editing out of curses, but overall a good promo.

I loved Tay back in NXT, I think while she's clearly not Horsewomen levels yet, that will be one they let go that they will regret.

I signed up for the 7 day trail of Peacock to check out the WWE stuff this week with Mania and such, and I legit don't understand what people see in NXT. Outside of Walter/Ciampa, I was bored and falling asleep both nights. I miss when NXT was true developmental, now it's just another indie show. Infact more indie then the true Wednesday night show that was born from Indy wrestling...

I haven't watched NXT in probably close to a year, so I'm not up on the stories but damn most of these people are SUPER uninteresting, and the buildup packages don't make it seem any more meaningful. Io lost the womens belt to some giant lady that wasn't overly great in the ring (I assume Io gets called up). Fell asleep during mens tag team match, none of those people are even a little interesting. What happened to the days of DIY/AoP/AA, hell I'd take Ascension over those jobbers. Gargano now has a stable of jobbers? And he somehow keeps beating guys...ok? Glad to see Kross get his belt back, he's not super entertaining, but anybody is miles more interesting then Finn Balor to me, not sure about a forearm shot as a finisher though, didn't KK have some type of cool submission? Or is Balor just not allowed to tap out? Main event was another Adam Cole snoozefest. I actually really find Cole entertaining, but whatever time limit you give him or go over, you need to take 10-15 minutes off of it, cause it always goes on too long. Kyle O'Reilly is a good worker, but dude should not be beating Cole in the main event. Put it middle of the card and end with the title match, like NXT used to do.

My NXT complaints likely won't ever change, matches go too long, and WAY to many kickouts of big moves and finishers. Expectations are low for Mania days, at least I have Wednesday nights.

Wow, I just can't with night 1. You take the belt off of Drew so you can do the obvious thing that you should do, open the show with him winning the title in front of a crowd like he deserves...and you have him pass out? Seriously, this WM should just be booked for fan reactions, do your storyline shit on Raw/SD and build from there. Tonight should have opened with Drews real coronation, Cesaro getting his big win, and ending with the also obvious Bianca win. I wonder if they went with Lashley just to not have 2 obvious choices, which if that's the case it is dumb. Also not really a fan of calling Sasha/Bianca historic for "main eventing" when 1) They wouldn't be the main event if WM was 1 night and 2) Becky/Charlotte/Ronda already did the female main event thing, on a real WM.

Happy for Cesaro, you could see how much it meant to him, hope he gets to enjoy it before Vince shoves him back to the midcard. Tonight just proves what I was already feeling, and that AEW and the way they book ALL their talent is just so much better then what the WWE offers that I just can't get into these matches with the infinite camera cuts and rest holds.

Gotta ask though, was it me, or did it seem like there were even more ads then there were pre-peacock? I miss when Manias were match-commentators discuss the match and ramifications for a minute-next match, more then match-5 commercials-video package from preshow-finally match.

Completely disagree with Lashley as to me that was one of the bright spots of the night. Maybe I just don't get Drew because I think his mic skills are so limited. IMO When I look at Bobby Lashley he looks and feels like what a heel champion should be and he's definitely paid his dues, happier to see Bobby get the spotlight more so due to being bored for a year with Drew.

My biggest gripe with this WM.......growing up watching PPV's with friends it felt like their opening hype segment was some of the best put together shit that even the average fan could get excited about the build up. I felt like I watched 13 different "WELCOME TO WRESTLEMANIA" segments before the show started and none of them had any impact whatsoever. Vince comes out, WWE Wrestlemania Montage with Johnny Depp, Hulk and Titus come out.....seriously WHAT IS THIS SHIT START THE FUCKING SHOW!!!! And yes I know there was a delay, this had nothing to do with that.

They've completely marginalized WM by making it 2 nights, too many unimportant matches rather than a single culminating event. For WM supposed to be their biggest event it seems to be getting farther away from that reality.

The Drew thing pissed me off. The guy wins the title at WM with no crowd, does his entire title reign in front of LCD screens, and then the first time he gets a crowd you make him drop the belt? I'd bail for AEW if I were Drew. You can tell the crowd hated it too with how silent they were at the finish.
