BLUE SKY IN GAMES CAMPAIGN LAUNCHED

Games need BLUE SKIES! Games need BRIGHT YELLOW SUNS! Games need RED AND BLUE THINGS in them! We want to play in a HAPPY PRETEND LAND, not a shit version of an American slum full of mixed-race gangsters wearing licensed sportswear!

We want to COLLECT BANANAS FROM MAGIC CASTLES not earn respect from fictional gang leaders! We want to stun enemies with BOUNCE ATTACKS, not shoot them in unrealistic and shoddy drive-bys!

- Make everything happen at midday or sunset.
- Replace gun textures with banana textures.
- Turn all cars into pink convertibles that wobble and only do 15mph.
- If you get 100 of anything, a little tune plays.
- Instead of saying "crew" say "your buddies".
- Instead of saying "hood" say "zone".
- Make the female characters something other than prostitutes.
- Make the black characters something other than drug dealers.

I think most of those dark sky/bad games were made In the US/west and most of the blue sky games were made outside of the US.... Hence why I tend to enjoy things outside of the culture I am from. But I would really love to see more "blue sky" type games from my own country. I would like to see more games Like Jade empire from the west.

The point is I really don't want to have to experience violence and the worst parts of reality in my video games. I don't think it should be banned alltogether, yet I have to say I really dont enjoy games where it is the core of the the game ala gta centering around realistic violence. I totally enjoy fantasy violence (where you are the good guy) though such as Ninja Gaiden, but in that you are a good guy going for Justis. (for your slayed clan)

Slightly off topic, but I guess its why I'll always be a Sega fan; their use of colors has always left a big impact on me. Its why I play video games: to escape and to feel better, and their bluer than blue skies always hit the mark, especially in games like Daytona, Sonic 2, and NiGHTS (to name a few).

This is why that story is funny...people always have to go with one extreme or the other, and I think that's what it was mocking. There's nothing wrong with a little variety...not every game needs to have blue skies and red shoes, nor does every game need orange skies with gangbangers. The more variety in styles, the better for everyone.

You may be on to something there. Hell, even Shenmue had a lot of color for such a "realistic" game.
