Tom'sHardware: European Retailers List RTX 4060Ti With 8GB VRAM

European retailers are advertising multiple MSI MAG Infinite S3 and Codex 5 PCs with these unannounced GPUs.

8GB VRAM in the specs isn’t exactly out of the blue; we have covered news of leaks of the GeForce RTX 4060 and RTX 4060 Ti previously. However, there remained a tiny glimmer of hope that Nvidia and its partners might do something to prevent the release of a stunted Ada Lovelace generation 060 desktop family. Multiple retail listings mean any hope has all but evaporated.

I'll say it again:

4050-4050 Ti: 8GB
4060-4060 Ti: 12GB
4070-4070 Ti 16GB
4080-4080 Ti: 20GB
4090-4090 Ti: 24GB

Configure the bus accordingly. The 4060 Ti will be what? $450? $500? 8GB is a farce. I hope no one buys this shit and NVIDIA shelves them and re-releases new models with proper VRAM. Enough of this shit.

If the 4070 is their 3080 replacement then the 4060 ti likely their 3070 replacement. That card is also 8gb and simply fails to run anything with RT and high textures because of the vram bottleneck.

Skip this card.

Complete farce. The GPU grunt is there to blow right past 8gb @1440p high settings in newer games, let alone @4K or when using RT.

And I know this isn't necessarily a 4K card but for $450-550 you should expect it to be useable at all res. It's not 2018 anymore when 4K was a lofty goal.

This card is basically DOA unless it's hilariously cheap. Like xx60 series cards should be - cheap.

At least with no decent upgrade option I can carry my 3070 through another GPU gen without feeling FOMO.

Release a 'gaming' GPU that won't be too user their own proprietry technology.

According to the latest rumors 399$. Which is still about 200$ too much.

Looks like Nvidia might be taking a page out of Intels playbook and will release a 16GB model as well as an 8GB 4060Ti.

288GB/s is still super tight, but atleast it should better deal than a tight on bandwidth Gen4x8 8GB card.
The 4060 base is super DOA though.

So just like 3060 had more RAM than 3070 this thing will have more than 4070, LOL.

This 128bit bus will fuck performance of this GPU even in 1440p in many games.

We live in such shit times, lol.

4060 8GB for $200 wouldn't be bad, but we know Nvidia is definitely not on that type of time. Hopefully the 7600/XT will be priced accordingly, too. But AMD has been finessing as well. You just HATE to see it.

Yeah 128bit is super super tight.
Whats worse is im sure if you have a superclocked 3060Ti you could probably match if not beat the 4060Ti.
The base 4060 is for no one.
Coming from someone who hated the 3060'12G from the jump im amazed Nvidia have somehow managed to make it look attractive vs the 4060.

Nvidia will have to goodwill us so hard with the RTX50s.
12GB xx60
16GB xx70
20GB xx80
24GB xx90

Should've been 192 bit bus and 12GB like the 3060. GDDR6X providing a bit more bandwidth and longevity. If Nvidia prices this at $400 (which they probably will) its DOA.

Hypothetically its around a 3070 in performance.. the only real benefits for this GPU is better power consumption and DLSS3... lol. The former being even cheaper on the used market and in abundance. Sadge upgrades for low end/mid range PC gamers this generation. Even a downgrade when it comes to VRAM vs the 3060 so may even be limited to medium textures in some upcoming games.

If the xx60 series have the xx70 series price of the last generation, those name schemes are meaningless.
8Gb for a card capable of RT is laughable. It keeps the feature set of the card useless because of the lack of VRAM.
Yep, another gen without upgrade for me.

Looks like i'm stuck with my 1060 forever. There's no way i'm getting any of these laughable cards.

What would you guys say makes more sense to purchase - the RTX 4070 or a 4060 Ti w/ 16GB?
The 4070 easy work.

GDDR6X vs GDDR6
192bit vs 128bit
500GB/s vs 288GB/s
3080 levels of performance vs 3070(ti) levels of performance.

The 4060Ti is going to choke hard once you go above 1080p, that memory is super super tight.

Of course pricing matters and your use case, if you dont need the power offered by the 4070 the 4060Ti'16G might be a good option.
But in my books 12GB tied to a much faster card makes more sense than 16GB on a weaker card.
Pretty sure the 4060 and 60Ti will still be best sellers but i think the jump to 70 is well worth it.

If that neural texture stuff works out and they can get it to be a standard, 8gb might get some legs. Not sure I would throw a bet down on it by buying an 8gb card though.

One thing I like about the 4070 is returning to more reasonable sized GPUs.
If I get a dual fan one then when I next upgrade, I can move the 4070 over to PC no.2 - because PC2 has a NZXT H1 V1 case it can be difficult finding GPUs for it.

This. 12GB is good enough* for above 1080p but not 4k gaming, which a 4070 is going to be used for. You don't need a 4070 for 1080p gaming.

*still super scummy of nGreedia.

Between RDNA3 and Ada Lovelace, this has to be the very worst GPU generation ever.
It’s up there. Even the die shrink rebrand generations of the past offered some perceived value. Rdna3 has a weak feature set and nvidia decided to do a greatest hits of their past BS all in one gen. Sad that unless you have $1000 basically every card sucks
