Her going to some those xbox fan events and hearing people constantly say "The Xbox 360 was my favorite console, those were good times" must have had a strong effect.

No, not Helix exclusive, but they are Console exclusive. I was referring to games on Helix Console vs PC in general, not talking about whether they are available on PS.
None of those are exclusive to any MS or Xbox branded hardware, operating system, or digital store.

Another change that isn't really going to do anything in the grand scheme aside help some losers sleep better at night.
Hear you

I agree with you, because a Xbox "console" for 1000 $ or more is maybe already dead on arrival.
Sharma can do what she wants, but it's too late to change the plans for Helix and the MSRP will kill every plans for the next gen.
They can't bet again for the generation after the upcoming one.
Like they did with the One and XSX generations..

LoL you can use this "everyone" should play bullshit as long as you like... so be it .. another failed system catered to the few shills that will buy anything from them.
Everyone you disagree with is a shill, while you are simply a fan right. You are stuck in the past. I don't want AAA gaming stuck on a single hardware point. I would much rather have a game that can work on Desktop, Laptop, Tablet, Console, Handheld, Cloud, seamlessly. If you don't like that, don't buy it.

Always fascinating to see the usual media shills celebrate the smallest of things and try to elevate the top head to cult leader status. No wonder we got where we are now and history repeats itself as usual. Looking forward to the industry awards she'll start winning in a few months.

You are not even a shill you're worse you are an alt account PR mouthpiece lurking in here from time to time with tradedmarked answers... shill is too good for you honestly

Her jaw must be in bits. Either that or they've inserted metal plates to keep her smiling.

Although I heard a rumour they kept Phil around, his job is to tickle her feet every time a camera is pointed.

And yet the next Xbox is going to be an unmodified PC.

Sharma is just rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic and telling the orchestra to keep playing louder and louder so the remaining passengers won't complain too much about their ship going under.

360 is by far the best Xbox console/era but I just feel it gets more praise than deserved.

Everything aligned at the right time for Microsoft to succeed.

Yes and ultimately the PS3 won that generation due to a mid-gen ramp-up and price drop, but the important thing was that the 360 managed to put it's foothold into what people considered video games during that generation.

The green ring was all around, ads, commercials, branding, exclusive games, etc. and they became more of a household name (for teens and up) just as much as The Wii for kids and grandparents.

Some people still thought CoD was an Xbox-only game back then, that's how strong the branding was with them, especially shooters.

The first half of the 360 (first 4-5 years) was up there with the best consoles. I can't remember any other product with a 50% failure rate still being one of the hottest consumer products of its time. It speaks volumes.

That being said, a lot of what made that Gen special for Xbox was cultivated by third parties (CoD/Epic Games) and quite frankly - their lax attitude towards moderation and genius decision to bundle a headset with every console which created a 'Wild West' platform which no other major player has had the balls to tolerate even for a brief period.

Issue is that that's the best MS can show in 25 years, whereas its competitors have got multiple entire full console life spans where their platform was considered GOAT tier: PS1, PS2, PS4, Game Boy, DS, Switch etc.

It's such a shame that the Wii's success got into their heads so much. The Wii was selling so many units that Xbox almost turned their backs on the hardcore audience and then were chasing a much, much larger casual audience by attempting anything and everything to try and rip them away from Nintendo.

They simply were not prepared for that, and it did not match their 'rockstar' image that they introduced themselves with on their first console. You could see it from the games to their mascots (A dude in green armor with guns).

Instead of pivoting to Kinect, they should have instead kept pressure on Sony as much as possible to secure the #2 spot.

Take those baby steps to get to #1 instead of immediately rushing for Nintendo's peak.

They clearly know everyone hates Microsoft, so they need to get rid of all references to the parent company. Brilliant move, I bet the world will quickly forget what company is behind Xbox.
